I am highly interested in the Registered Nurse opening in Medical Surgical Unit now available at Reading Health System. I will be graduating in July 2016, and taking the NCLEX August 2nd, 2016. The values of compassion and innovation in your mission statement and dedication to educating health care professionals resonate with me. My recent clinical rotations during my tenure at School of Health Science gave me experience with a diverse patient population, and a respect for cultural differences needed in this field and the emphasis on patient satisfaction greatly impressed me. In addition to my nursing skills, I’ve developed strong leadership skills. While attaining my education, I also worked as the Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Reading

I completed my adult nursing degree. I began my nursing career in 2014 in primary care as a community nurse. I have continuously undertaken courses to improve my skill and knowledge in caring for patients. This has empowered me to deliver holistic evidence based care to patients in the community. I have continued to professionally update my practice and have developed comprehensive portfolio.
I currently work at The Queen's Medical Center - Punchbowl Campus, working the night shift as a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry RN with the Float Pool. After being out of school and currently practicing as a bedside RN for over 12 years (and as a retired Army Nurse), I've decided to go back to school to broaden my knowledge in nursing (theory and research). Upon completion of this program, I hope that it'll help open up other nursing career opportunities that were not available to me as an Associate Degree RN. While waiting for this program to start, I've also completed several courses in Healthcare Administration; hopefully, the combination of these two programs/degree may also open up other opportunities in the administrative portion of the healthcare industry.
For this assignment I was able to interview Regina Bowman RN, BSN. Her current position is that of the Director of Medical Surgical Nursing. Her position places her over top of seven nursing units between two facilities. Regina graduated from the Mercer Medical School of Nursing in 1979 with her diploma in nursing. The Mercer medical school of nursing is still in operation although it has been renamed the Capital Health School of Nursing. Her return to school started after graduation. She enrolled at Mercer County Community College to obtain her Associates. Secondly she attended La Salle University and received her Bachelor’s in Nursing in 2003. Lastly she is currently enrolled at the Thomas Edison State University, and has a
My career commitment as a nurse has grown tremendously over the past three years; through my daily experiences as a Medical Assistant. I have devoted my time as a full time student and employee of the health care profession. Both of these occupations have helped shape me into the person I want to be for as long as time allows. Daily I witness these community role models that posses abilities such as problem solving skills, promotion and protection of an individual’s advocacy all tied in with compassion to meet the health care needs of an individual.
I am a proud employee at Scripps Mercy Hospital and have been here since 2012 working as a CNA. I have recently been accepted to San Diego City college Associate Degree Nursing program. Since the age of 16 I knew nursing was my calling. I attended a local community college as part of a program in high school and earned my Nursing assistant certificate. I have worked extremely hard to get where I am today and earning this degree would mean the world to me. This degree would allow me to contribute my skills as an RN to provide efficient, effective patient-centered care at Scripps health.
I have been fortunate enough to gain experiences that have effectively taught me how to be a leader and work together with a team and I am confident I will be able to apply this to my nursing career more
I’ve worked for DaVita dialysis for two years; before changing careers I worked in early childhood education for 8 years. I decided to make a career change because I didn’t feel in my heart that I was being challenging myself enough to my full potential. I’ve always enjoyed the opportunity to help others. My mother has been an LPN for over 36 years, so I spent countless hours at her job at a hospital when I was growing up. I would spend time in the office of the her director of nurse and I would ask questions for days. I’ve always had a passion for healthcare, but, I was afraid of blood so decided that nursing was out the question for me. So I chose the business side of healthcare to focus on. I want to advance my career in healthcare.
“Letto diciassette!” I froze at the sound of “bed seventeen,” and watched with horror as the Italian nurse ran into my grandmother’s hospital room. The monitors were beeping out of control, yet my heart seemed to be beating even faster and louder. I stood at the end of the dimly lit hall, shaking and unable to move. A health care provider spotted me standing there, desperate, alone, and vulnerable, and made her way over to comfort me. The feelings I experienced next were what I remember most when I look back on that dark and gloomy day in Italy. ***The feelings of hope, reassurance and genuine kindness. The feeling that a missing piece of my heart had been put back where it belonged. That is what I remember most and that is the role I want
I am writing to state my keen interest in the New Graduate Nurse Residency Program that you advertised on the employment opportunities of your website. I will be graduating in May 2016 from Northwest Mississippi Community College with an Associates Degree in Nursing. I anticipate taking the NCLEX-RN state board exam in June 2016. I believe that my educational background and work experience will be greatly beneficial to your facility.
Being a leader in the profession of nursing requires pride and dedication to the nursing career path. This is why I decided to conduct my interview with Pamela Prefontaine, a leader in the nursing field. Prefontaine graduated from Bellin School of Nursing in 1982. She then went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1990 from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. Prefontaine then graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2009 with a master’s degree in medical informatics. Prefontaine was the team leader of pediatrics at Bellin from 2001-2007. She has also been a team leader of a medical and surgical floor at Bellin also. Furthermore, Prefontaine was also the assistant director of the NICU at Saint Vincent’s Hospital. She currently is a consultant for informatics.
I believe that I possess talents and characteristics that will benefit the nursing profession. Coming from an aerospace background, I have worked in environments where attention to detail, safety, documentation, and hazardous material handling occurred on a daily basis. In addition to my normal job functions, I was proactive in process improvement programs, inventory control systems development, safety awareness programs, and I served as the department point of contact/ team leader in all three areas. I was also formally trained and worked as a certified
Soon after, I received my licensure and began working at The Queen's Medical Center as a Registered Nurse (RN) in early part of 1994. Since becoming a RN, I have provided care to a great deal of patients and reassured countless numbers of family members. As a RN, I've also become the coordinator of care, patient advocate, and teacher to the patients I cared for while serving as the eyes and the ears of the physicians. As with any human, I enjoyed sharing the laughter with my patient and cringed at site of their pain and despair. For these reasons, I believe that being a RN is a great career choice for me. However, for these same reasons, I still feel that I am not a complete nurse; hence I've decided to go back to school and try to earn my Bachelor in Science Degree in Nursing
My nursing background is in women and children’s health care. As a clinician, I have practiced in acute and primary care settings. My professional interests include nursing genomics, nursing leadership, and new program development.
