A multitude of events have affected my life, but not all of them have been accomplishments, some have been hardships that have changed my character greatly. When I was fourteen, just a few days after Christmas, my father collapsed at work and was rushed to the hospital. There, doctors discovered that he had a brain tumor which had been pressing on his brain stem, ultimately leading to his seizure. Over the past few years, he has gone through a cycle of treatment and remission, all the while experiencing a steep decline in mental health. With everything my parents were going through, I found myself being forced into adulthood much faster than I ever anticipated, before I even had a driver’s license. Instead of worrying about midterms, I found …show more content…
In the short run, I hope to maintain my 4.0 through college. This is will be an arduous task, but I have the commitment and I know that I will work as hard as I can. I aspire to excel outside the classroom as well; I want to attain leadership positions in the Fisher Citizenship Program and Undergraduate Business Women Association. Finally, while in college I hope to become a resident advisor so that I can continue bettering myself while also meaningfully contributing to the collegiate experiences of other students. My career goals are still not fully developed, but I do know that I want to becoming a marketing director for an international company. I want to be able to be the bridge between producer and consumer and help develop creative ideas to further the business I work for. I know I want to work internationally because I have strong interests in traveling and diplomacy and I want to make a global impact.
This scholarship would help me with my own goals because it will give me the freedom to focus on my studies rather than on financial struggles. Again, I would be able to financially help not only myself, but my parents. Even after I have graduated, this scholarship will have lessened my debt, allowing me to choose a job that fits my own passions and interests, not just one that helps me pay off my debts faster. Overall, I would be much more focused on my studies and on my involvement
The scholarship would help me pay for other classes that could help me study and improve my education in college. If I win this scholarship it would improve my mental focus in college. Thinking that if I can win this scholarship, I know I can graduate college. What I mean by this is if you have the patience and integrity to apply for this scholarship, you should have the will to graduate college. Also, if you want to strive for a scholarship such as this one, you should have the intention that you can graduate and college should not be that hard, if you work hard enough.

I am highly interested in the Registered Nurse opening in Medical Surgical Unit now available at Reading Health System. I will be graduating in July 2016, and taking the NCLEX August 2nd, 2016. The values of compassion and innovation in your mission statement and dedication to educating health care professionals resonate with me.
Recently I have decided to change my career choice from being a nurse to being a healthcare administrator. Life has a way of showing you what it thinks is best for you. I had to find out a hard way that nursing really wasn’t what I was supposed to do for the rest of my life. Once I found this out I had to take a step back and look at what I wanted to do, something that I would love to do for the rest of my life. After taking some time and looking around at my options I finally decided on Healthcare Administration. I feel that I would be good at this job and it is something that I can see myself doing for the rest of my life.
When one chooses a career path that is un-fit for their personality it is clearly seen oneself and everyone they encounter. I truly believe everyone has a calling because I have had people touch my life by simply doing their job. For example, I have been to restaurants, grocery stores, schools, etc. and met people that impacted my life in a positive manner. When I was six my little sister had seizures. I remember her first episode and sensing how scared my parents were. My sister and I have always been best friends and seeing her hurt, even then being so young, all I wanted to do was help. The doctors and nurses not helped my sister get better, but helped my parents and I, as well. I want to be to someone else what those health care providers were to me and my family.
My mother, the person who gave me everything she had to offer at a moment's notice. Her needs and dreams, at one point firmly desired were set aside for my well-being. Countless years and precious time given to my siblings and me for our development into young adults. The feeling of debt is vast and with that the idea of giving my mother another opportunity towards her absent dreams seemed wise. My decision of enrolling my mother as a student at delta college has restored her hopes and a smile which noticeably displays it. Brief elated moments from my mother are more than satisfactory for me and my family. Her arrival from school is always interesting when she conveys the information she reviewed in class. Now that I am progressing as a student along with my mother the support I can provide is invaluable. I’m incapable of offering her what was given to me but the pursuit of her own education alongside her children is a good start I believe. As we continue the pursuit for our goals together, reaching and achieving them will have that much more meaning. To become a preschool teacher or an assistant is the thought my mother has held in her mind for some time. Being able to achieve my goal of becoming an Electrical Engineer as well as my sister’s major of Nursing alongside her would mean everything to her. In the end the debt my siblings and I owe is too great and the things we do can’t begin to describe how much we appreciate what she’s done for us.
Hey everyone, I am Samantha Brown. I am currently a full time waitress at a Greek Restaurant in Winston Salem. I am a people person, which is why I love my job. I have been waitressing since I was 15, and next week I will be 20 on the 11th. I am also a Certified Nursing Assistant. I love spending time with my family, and friends. I have always lived in a small town since I was born around 20 minutes from Winston Salem. My major of study is Associate Degree Nursing. I would not be where I am today without my parents. They have encouraged me to chase my dream of being a nurse. I have always loved helping people. I plan to graduate with my degree no later than 2017. I just started college not to long ago, so I have quite a bit of prerequisites
A scholarship will definitely help not only myself, but my family as well. I currently have two younger sisters that hope to go to top university schools like myself. Obviously, it is not very cheap to send three kids to college. I am very grateful that my parents are doing everything that they can to try to send me and my siblings to wonderful institutions. A scholarship will not only affect me, but will also affect my two siblings.
My life has endured many changes at a personal level. As a young boy with a loving family and a solid formation, any person who knew me was aware of the type of respectful and mature boy i was. In contrast to the type of person i am, my academic maturity at that time proved otherwise. Throughout my life i have been known to be very open minded and respectful, but at the same time hard-headed. After many years of doing things with no specific purpose or goal, my father taught me my most important lesson that will never escape my thoughts. After a rough argument over my report card, he used the word mediocre to explain the type of person he thought I was becoming. At only 13 years of age I felt utter disappointment in myself and knew it was time for a change.
My first job was working in a long term- care facility, as a dietary aid. That position allowed me to interact with the residents, especially during meal times. The residents definitely influenced my decision to work in health care. For years I worked as a nursing assistant and then as physical therapist assistant in a rehabilitation facility. I enjoyed my work, however after my divorce I decided to go back to school to further my career. Since I wanted to continue working closely with the residents I decided to look into RN programs. That being said, careers in nursing are always in demand and the salary is good. At this point in my life stability is
A Scholarship can help me not to get in heavy loan debt. After, I having complete my undergraduate degree, I can go to graduate school and don’t have to worry about immediately finding a job
Receiving this scholarship would help me focus on school and athletics throughout college. I will be playing golf in college and this will help eliminate the stress of having to work certain hours a week in order to make ends meet. Others around me will also benefit as I won’t need as much help financially. Getting through college with as little debt possible is a huge goal and this scholarship will help achieve that goal. College is supposed to be an incredible experience, meeting new people and creating new memories all while getting an education. Not worrying about finances would help the experience immensely and would make life after college more enjoyable as
To get this scholarship would give me the opportunity to strive for the college of my dreams. Money that I would be able to win can give me the ability to pay for books or even be put towards savings in order to pay for the rest of college. Since I hope to one day become a medical student, money can go a long way and keep me from worrying about paying for school while trying to stay focused and study. A concern for money can be a huge distraction on my education. The whole point in college is to learn and to succeed, but there won't be any succeeding if money is on my mind. I do not want more stress than I would already be getting from my courses. With the support of this scholarship, it can help ease my mind and let me do what I do best, which
It is a rare opportunity when someone at a young age knows exactly what he or she wants to do for the rest of his or her lives. I’ve have had the pleasure of knowing what field I wanted to enter in since I was fifteen. I first took an interest in this career path when I entered a program at Uniondale High School that would allow me take dental assistant courses. I absolutely loved dental assisting and was more certain than ever that the dental field was exactly where I wanted to be.
