River Padma, the biggest and most raging river of Bangladesh, is only twenty kilometers from the village where I grew up hearing about the sinking of locally manufactured launch which regularly took a toll of thousands of lives. I just always asked myself why this type of accident happens. As the Padma has alienated the southern part of our country from the other regions, it is a must for people in those areas to cross the river to reach the capital city, Dhaka. In the year of 2008 when I first came to Dhaka, I had a bitter experience of observing such accident. Horrible scene of hundreds of people dying in front of me made me seriously rethink- how can we resolve this problem? This question drove me to choose Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NAME) as my major in university level and having the opportunity to be a student of the Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) was a great achievement for me.
Having said that marine accident pushed me always to

Being the manager of the student dining hall for four times helped me to develop management skills in an optimum cost. Furthermore, I was an actively associated member of the organizing committee of the NAME DAY-2014 cultural program at the campus. “Badhan”, a blood donating society, awarded me the certificate of acknowledgment for donating blood more than ten times and I was a volunteer of this society. These activities helped me to share my view with other people and to work in a group. Again in my school life, I had a keen interest in mathematics and I always got excited to participate in Mathematics Olympiad. Consequently, in the second year of my undergraduate level, I placed 5th in the 4th National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad 2012, among the whole nation where students of mathematics, science and engineering background from all the universities across the nation
With given a choice of what to write this paper, I could not get past the subtle nature of who we are as God’s creations. This fundamental truth of our identity is simplified with the truth of our identity in Jesus. We are created in God’s image with a purpose here on earth to display all of God’s greatness, His beauty, and to reveal all of His character aspects. Best of all, we are completely dependent on God. This new enlightenment of my identity in Christ as God’s creation will allow me to help people around the world become one with Christ by revealing the truth of their identity.

Academics have been my primary strength throughout my high school career. Since Grade 9, I have maintained an average over 95%, thus receiving Silver Medal every year; my final graduating average will most likely be 96.2%. My scholarly success is illustrated in the high number of subject awards I have received - ten awards in three years. In addition, I have competed in various math and computing contests, such as the Galois, for which I placed first in the school, and the AMC 12B, as well as the University of Toronto Biology Competition.
I was born the fourth of December 1991 in Cranbrook British Columbia. I lived there for 18 years. Before joining the military I worked as a fry cook at a Burger King for three years and held part time jobs working for the College of the Rockies summer camp programs during the summer. The video “Shipbreakers of Bangladesh,” produced by Tim Noonan, shows the poor reality of workers in Bangladesh, the lack of safety, conflicts and the concerning with child labor. Academics play a substantial role in my life. They allow me to acquire a considerable amount of opportunities in college. In due to my excellence in academics, I have been recognized as an Illinois State Scholar for the 2018-19 school year. Also in my high school career, I have participated in the Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering for my excellence in Chemistry and Mathematics. I was personally chosen by my teachers to participate in this prominent competition. In junior high, I received the President’s Award for my academic excellence shown throughout my entire schooling experience. The school bestows the President’s Award to the student with the highest GPA throughout their schooling. In
Why is participating in the A Day in the Life at the VNA important to you?
My overall undergraduate picture is not an accurate representation of my ability as a student, and my potential as an academic. While honestly, I lack some disciple during my time at northeastern, which resulted in a sharp contrast between my grades at Northern Essex Community College, The low point at NEU, and the redemption in my post graduate grades. This was the direct result of coming from a family with a substantially lower socioeconomic status, than that of my peers at northeastern; also, there was immaturity all of which had me more focus on fitting in with this new group of people, than handing my assignments in time. Often the difference between a B and C was missing a few papers, and the reason this did not resulted in several F grades, is the fact that I would usually perform extraordinarily well in the final exam, but this would not be enough to recover.

Some of these proposals were carried out, however, there has been some criticism of this plan and whether it is sustainable, as embankments restrict the channel, affect the fishing industry and increase the height of the rivers, and dams are expensive and could lead to debt. The Appropriate Technology Plan suggested, allowing flooding, but controlling extreme flooding, as well as having improved early flood warning systems by distributing leaflets and volunteers to educate people on preparing and coping with future floods. These strategies had some effect in that fewer people were killed in the 2004 flood in comparison to the 1998 flood indicating that forecasting and earlier deliveries of aid and the Plans had some effect. Some of the “lessons learned” were: floods are not short-term events, the needy should receive timely relief, engaging with local authorities and the affected population is critical and, for agriculture: drying and preserving feed stocks to facilitate continuation of farming, promoting flood resistant crop and crop insurance. With the widespread, prolonged and damaging effects of floods, Bangladesh needs to continue to increase effectiveness of disaster preparedness, response efforts and further mitigate and manage future floods in order to reduce suffering and
A personal mission statement is a philosophy or creed that one plans to follow in daily life. It is usually designed with positivity, purpose, and with personal goals for every aspect of life such as career, finances, etc. It also focuses on personality traits that one would like to possess and the accomplishments that one wants to achieve, both short-term and long term. It also houses the individuality of the person writing it. Every person writing a personal mission statement is will produce a different statement. This is primarily because people value different things, characteristics and have different goals. The purpose of this paper is to explore my mission statement (Covey, 2013, pp.113).
