My ambition is to become an adult nurse who makes a real and positive change to people’s lives. Currently there is a lot of conflict in the world and there is a lack of health diplomacy and engagement. I empathise with innocent individuals who suffer from medical needs. This makes me want to change lives, nurture and help people that they are not able to do it for themselves. I have learned from my staff trainers that nursing is not just assisting a doctor but being a teacher, encourager and supporter for the patient. It is important to have an open mind and willingness to learn and accept all types of people. I am looking for a career which is varied and has plenty of scope to gain experience and knowledge with the potential to move into different …show more content…
Some of the standards are that the people in care must be able to trust me with their health and wellbeing; this can be done through making the care of people your first concern, treating them as individuals and respecting their dignity. From this I learned that as a nurse I will make sure that I provide a high standard of practice and care at all times. I will be open and honest, and uphold the reputation of the …show more content…
By using my effective communication skills I made sure that I understood them and responded to the underlying emotion in this way they began to trust and open up. I also had to communicate with different people from different backgrounds. My responsibility was to talk to children parents on how they did through the day and moreover had to deal with some parents that didn’t speak English this forced me to find a way to communicate more effectively i.e. I am multilingual as I can speak Dutch, Pashto, Farsi and Urdu from this talent it was easy for me to solve this problem. I think creatively while difficulties occur to make sure that I think outside the box. Additionally I have shown competence as a maths mentor as I made sure that my students got the best possible grade, this has not only helped me but I also advanced my maths skills. Being a mentor has boosted my leadership skills where I motivated and encouraged others. This will help me in nursing as I will be a positive role model for innovation and have a responsibility of a wide range of patients. I am able to work independently as well as in a team by doing experiments in psychology. This gave me a good time management skills. In certain situations I am overcritical to overcome this I make sure that I feel confident by doing work experience. Whilst doing health and social care coursework I
My ambition is to graduate St. Francis College as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in the upcoming years. Although majoring in nursing will not be easy, I feel I am prepared for the challenge. At this time in my life I cannot see myself majoring in anything else. As a young girl, with a mother working in the medical field, I was always fascinated going to work with her. Working in a doctor’s office these past two and a half years myself has given me much experience with patients and has made it more to clear to me that this is what I want to pursue as a career. I wish to be a nurse because I seem to get a feeling of warmth and internal satisfaction when helping those in need. I have begun to learn that medicine is not the only cure for people’s ailments. It is the care they receive by those around them whether it is in a hospital, nursing home, or even their own home. This is where I believe that I can make a great difference in people 's lives by helping them recover.
The CNO outlined professional standards for nurses to comply with. The seven that are outlined are accountability, continuing competence, ethics, knowledge, knowledge application, leadership, and relationships. “A standard is an authoritative statement that sets out the legal and professional basis of nursing practice” (College of Nurses of Ontario, 2009, p. 3). Although each standard has different meaning, they all work together in order to provide the best possible patient care.
There are many things I hope to accomplish in my lifetime, but the most important is having a positive impact on others. I grew up knowing I wanted to make a difference and eventually found my calling through nursing. Nursing has taught me to be selfless and has challenged me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. Although the two and a half years of working as a bedside nurse has fulfilled my expectations, I feel am now ready to begin pursuing my goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist. I was first introduced to this area of nursing after having surgery to repair my torn ACL.
My educational intentions and goals are to attend the University of Arizona and earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I then plan on gaining experience in nursing at a local hospital before applying to the Doctor of Nursing Practice program to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist. I plan on becoming a nurse anesthetist to serve those in pain and relieve patients of their pain. I have many life goals because I strive for many opportunities. A few of my life goals are to serve in college preparatory programs as a tutor or a program specialist, give a university commencement address, write a best-selling book, create a high school curriculum guide for students interested in becoming a CRNA, Earn my Bachelor’s and then a Master’s degree, travel, and most importantly advocate educating patients on how to treat their diseases and illnesses for the well-being of patients and care for others.
The nursing field gives a person the opportunity to work with and care for elderly, sick, and injured patients. I want to join the registered nurse team because they take on multiple medical settings. Registered nurses are known as RNs. They are responsible for multiple things. Being a RN has a lot of responsibility. The topics I will be covering are: job description, specialties, trends, salary, benefits, and required trainings. These are essential things that a person needs to know before going into nursing school.
Goal Statement I want to study Nursing. I firmly believe that Nursing will be the start of my new journey. One of my goal is to work and serve others.
Since I can remember I have always had a compassion and natural desire to care for my fellow man. Now having this opportunity, I remain committed to this task. During my nursing career as a Registered Nurse, I allow myself time to grow clinically and to expose myself to a variety of health care emergency situations which continues to be very valuable to me in strengthening my career. It is very fortunate that I have the opportunity to be in a position to where I am today.
Throughout life people dream of doing something that is amazing, and my goal is to do just that. Ever since I was a kid, I knew that I wanted to assist others and make an impact on people's lives in a positive way. Knowing this, I have always wanted to be a pediatric nurse to better the lives of children in need.
My dream is to become a neonatal nurse so I can directly aid in the treatment of infants born with a life-threatening illness, birth defects, and those put at risk from premature births. This is a cause close to my heart as my mother has worked with children who suffer from a plethora of birth defects for many years at Spring Creek Elementary School where I have had the pleasure to volunteer on many occasions. These children have their own personal battles that they fight every single day, they do it with smiles on their faces and love in their hearts and it's with the help of the medical staff that fought for them at birth that they are here today to share their love with the rest of the world. This is the nurse I intend to be.
I cannot attribute my desire of becoming a nurse to following the footsteps of a family member, nor caring for a sick family member as I was growing up. I am a first generation high school student, furthermore, a college graduate. I became a mother at the very young age of sixteen. Being so young and growing up without the care of my parents, it was always said I, too, would end up in a rough situation and not be able to care for my child being so young myself. I continued out my days and nights being a high school teen mom. I graduated from high school in three years by attending night school while I was pregnant; allowing me to finish school sooner and obtain a better job that would allow me to take care of my son.
All my life I have wanted to make a difference in the world, to make my mark. I may not be able to do this on a worldly scale, but I can start by helping one person at a time. My plan for the future is not an easy one, but it is worth it. I intend on becoming a Registered Nurse to begin, then later going further and becoming a Practitioner Nurse. Hopefully with my plans, I can get there fairly quickly. I will be attending Western Oklahoma State College, starting off with my basics, which usually take about two years. Then go into the Nursing program that Western proffers, putting my Associates degree under my belt. I would like to start working as fast as I can in order to get all the debt I will have paid off so I can attend a Southwestern
Your choices will affect you throughout your life, whether it is a big or small decision. For example, it could be something simple like eating fast food for the third time this week or it could be important like going to an interview for a new job position. When you are young, you change your mind every chance you get. This might be why deciding what job you want for the rest of your life is difficult. Currently, 1. I want to be a RN, which is a registered nurse. Registered nurses do a lot to help their community and the people in it. With this job, I would be able to give back to the community by helping people. This makes me feel like I would be a better person.
In conclusion, nursing is my passion and my main goal is to become not only a nurse but a doctor, so I can not only save lives but keep people healthy and happy. I have many duties and responsibilities as a nurse, but the pay is pretty though. My focus right now is to continue working on getting my licenses and certifications then working my way up to the top. I can’t wait to become a registered nurse, so I can also believe that I can do anything I set my heart and my mind to, I can accomplish and succeed in
Caring for others has always been a passion of mine, and becoming a nurse has always been my dream. While my dream has turned reality, I can say that nursing has blessed me with the opportunity to not only be a servant to those in my community, but it has also allowed me to be of some comfort to patients and their loved ones during their darkest and most vulnerable moments. Nursing offers a variety of opportunities, where the only restrictions are the ones we set for ourselves. As for myself, all things are possible, for if I want it, I strongly believe it’s already mine. The depths that I will go to reach the latitude of success that I so desire is boundless.
Adult nursing is a lifelong learning career which I have been drawn to since I was young. My mum is a registered nurse and I’ve always admired what she’s done. I would like to apply for this course as I want to help, not only emotionally but medically. I think that these two approaches have to go hand in hand when dealing with patients in care. It is an extremely challenging and demanding career that can be rewarding and satisfying. I am very attracted to the profession as I’ve always had an interest in caring for people and be keen on the thought of working in a large hospital environment where I can be involved in the hands on medical treatment of patients. Working in a large hospital promises a stimulating work environment and there are
