I am very interested and passionate about art and wish to pursue it as a career. I love learning as much as I can and would welcome any opportunity can to learn more about art and becoming a more experienced artist. I would like to have this opportunity to experience the “college atmosphere” and learn from college professors. I wish to meet artists my age and socialize with people who are like minded when it comes to learning and studying the many styles of art. I want to gain as much knowledge as I can in art and I am determined to learn as much as I can. I find art and watching artists fascinating and I become inspired to improve my skills. The four weeks at SRGS, being completely immersed in art is the best way I coud spend my summer.
As someone who enjoys doing various forms of arts and crafts, through my love for creating things in particular, I found that by working wholeheartedly in every task I do, I find more and more of myself in what I can achieve. Vincent Van Gogh’s quote, “It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done” has stuck to me ever since I read it.
The world is rough place full of suffering people and I want to help ease some of this suffering with art, and with MCAD's vision of transforming the world with creativity and purpose I believe this is something I can achieve. All of my art has been completed in my cramped room with only my mom to critique my works with MCAD's personal studio spaces and talented professors that put students first and encourage them to experimentation I believe I can really flourish and learn how to become a more skillful artist. Not only will MCAD help me grow as an artist but will help prepare me for the business side of having an art career with the MCAD DesignWorks program, having a very limited experience with the business side of art this is one part of MCAD that truly impresses me.
I read with interest your job posting on the ASAE website for a PBL Program Manager.
My intended major is Art History. When I first took the Ancient-Medieval class in 2011, I was taken back by all the historic beauty to be seen and stories, to be heard. When I met Terri McDermott, my Western art professor, I became drawn even more so. I loved every lecture, assignment, exam, and taking notes. Having become an outspoken student, I communicated to professor McDermott after every class about comparisons between movements and artists. She quickly took notice of my interest and motivated me to take on the next class. At this time, I started to believe I had found my major so I set up an appointment to meet with a counselor to create my educational plan. From then on I began checking off classes on the associates degree for transfer
My commitment to arts management and policy developed through my extracurricular involvement in the performing arts and work as a Development Assistant at Primary Stages, an off-Broadway theatre company in New York City. I am applying for the MA in Arts Management, Policy, and Practice in the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester due to its emphasis on practical skills and work experience. Moreover, as I pursue a career as a performing arts manager, the university’s proximity to arts and cultural organizations will provide opportunities to engage with the competitive field of arts administration.
I’m interested in being an arts counselor because I enjoy doing art in my free time. I had done this last summer and really enjoyed it. I found it so much fun to help the children get in touch with their creative sides. I really enjoy watercolor, drawing and i dabble with animation. I have previously taken classes at the art center such as a watercolor, acting, sewing, and comic book designing classes. I take art at school where we had done a variety of different projects such as drawing and shading an inanimate object. Recently I have taken an animation workshop at North Carolina State.

I still remember the day I discovered my passion for design. I was in the sixth grade and had just arrived home from soccer training. After hours of playing in the heat, I was exhausted, hungry and, worst of all, bored. I ate and headed straight to my family’s desktop computer. I launched my favorite online game only to find out that the servers were down for an update. As a result of not being able to play, I started my hunt for something else to keep me from boredom. I came across a software called Adobe Photoshop and was instantly hooked. The ability to create and arrange pixels to create masterpieces had allured me. Before I knew it, I had installed Photoshop and was clicking away. After six years of continuing this passion, I have built
I would like to study illustration as it has become clearer to me that this may be the right course for me as well as the right career path. From a young age up until this day I have always had a creative drive and an interest in art. Growing up I was involved in various sorts of art projects and workshops outside of school and during school breaks on recommendation of my teachers. One of the workshops I was involved with was with Peacock Visual Arts, which is an art centre located in Aberdeen that would provide workshops to kids during the summer, it was there my passion for art, primarily sketching grew but at the time I did not have the clear focus to know what it was I wanted to study at university.
One of my greatest passions is reading. Whether it’s a biography, a thriller, a newspaper or even blogs, you’ll find me reading during my free time. When I was younger, I enjoyed reading during meals. While others were watching TV, I was either busy reading the bible or going through the newspaper to learn more on the current events. As I grew older, the habit grew and when I went to college, I had an easy time going through books during my research.
The career I pick because I love to draw, I love to make craft. My career is Craft artist cause I really. I want to do this for my rest of my life because at home I do Craft and artist.
school, I realized that being social and expressing my thoughts about artwork as well as the many stories behind the pieces is a skill that doesn’t take much to master. Despite this flaw I’ve overcome throughout the years, I would love to apply not only to enhance this new found social skill, but to meet great people and discuss one of the few things I’ve always found a passion in; Art.

Art. To me is something undefinable, what I want my art to show you is a piece of myself and a piece of yourself. Something we can all relate to; a memory, a song, a poem, art should make you feel something. Art is a gift, a tool we can use to hide beauty in ordinary places and things. I want to broaden my understanding of design and the world that art is beyond my knowledge and experiences. Because my love for creating burns so bright and deep within me, I am determined to find a career path that will allow me to explore the world of design and art every day. A number of art forms are endless and this seems like a daunting task to find just one path that can express the enjoyment and involvement I want to have with art. Throughout my life I have been endlessly drawing, painting, sculpting and creating--often times I feel almost cursed with such talent to create because the ability seems endless. I have taken a number of art classes exploring my passions as a High School Student and created many different types of works including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; etching, embossed, and screen printmaking; charcoal, graphite, and pastel drawings; Sculpting with ceramics and plaster as well as wheel pieces. I find that there is few mediums I have yet to experiment with. I have become accustomed to Acrylic paintings as I have recently started to create paintings and sell them to community members. I participated in a local art fair and it opened my eyes to what art
Throughout my life, I never really knew what I wanted to do as a career. For a while, nothing special stood out enough to make me change my mind. When it comes to choosing a career, it can be extremely challenging. There are so many different options to consider such as education requirements, pay, and the benefits. Education plays a major role, but I do not want to be spending my whole life paying off student loans after I graduate from college. My goal is to be able to have as little debt as possible when I am finished with school. Finding a career that pays well is important to me. I want to be successful by living a financially stable life. Also, a job that provides benefits such as insurance coverage and retirement plans. Overall, I want to ensure that the job I decide to have is something that I love and can be very passionate about doing. Due to my past experiences with my health and others around me, I have found a genuine interest in becoming an ultrasound technician also known as a medical sonographer.
