The ending to this book was depressing. It evoked feelings of sadness, anger and indignation. Sadness because the animals thought that they were working towards something meaningful to them, all together. They fought hard, as a unit, to overthrow Jones and continued to work hard throughout to better all of their conditions'. As the story line progresses, you see that they are being taken advantage of, yet still innocently believe they are working towards an improved life. The rebellion results were not as they had hoped, as the book ends. The feeling of anger arises when the animals become aware that there is little difference between the pigs and the people they wanted liberty from. These quotations demonstrate that over the past fourteen years the head of State has called for the government to increase attention to the treatment of victims of crime in England and Wales. This would imply that the needs of victims’ of crime have consistently been on the political agenda and that the system is recognising that improvements need to be made to promote victims’ interests. What however is the reality? This essay will explore how an advocate for the criminal justice system (CJS) would argue that victims of crime are not being failed. It will present the measures taken to improve the rights and interests of victims. It will discuss the commitment of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to victims by exploring ‘The Prosecutors Pledge’.
In our lives, we have to make important choices, and sometimes our choices determine our happiness or sadness. As a Filipino, our families tell us to do well in school and to not make bad choices because they want us to be successful and to have ethical morals. Growing up as a Catholic, I was taught to be obedient and respectful to my family which has shaped who I am today. Yet, I too made some mistakes, and I learned from the consequences. From my failures, I learned to not belittle myself, but to grow.
