Growing up, I was a first generation American. My family emigrated from Egypt seventeen years ago with a dream of starting a life in America. After coming to a new country and leaving their family behind, they had to find a way to start a new life. However, being an immigrant came with many challenges that my parents had to face head on. A few months after my parents and sister moved to America, I was born. Being that my parents never received a full education they struggled only to earn mundane jobs. My mom stayed home to take

On a bright sunny Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, started off as an ordinary day where Americans were out working to achieve their ambitious goal called the “ American Dream”. I decided to grab a coffee to start off my day. As I walked by a street vendor, he nicely asked: “ It’s a beautiful day huh?”. I smiled and answered, “ Yes it is sir”. “ What are you up to today? As I have blossomed into the individual I am today I have developed a significantly different outlook from most of my peers. My mother migrated from Colombia to the United States because she wanted to create a better life for my older brother and me. Her journey inspires me and it a journey which many individuals with Latino backgrounds have to undergo to have the polity to give their children education possibilities. The sacrifice that my mother and those like her have bared have revealed to me the importance of what it means to work hard. As a family of immigrants I have developed an appreciation for those close to me. Living in the United States I see my grandparents and all of my siblings every two years, I understand what it is too mean

a. The impact cultures in North America have on the United States is that each region adapted the traditions and/or beliefs of those who settled in that area by maintaining dance, music, and crafts. Many English settlers did not respect the Native American cultures, and were seen as uncivilized and/or savages. Basically there was a clash of cultures, with new ideas pushing away old ways and mayor cultures oppressing others.

I was born and raised in the United States but my family was not born here, they came from an area south of Los Angeles, Mexico. In the border between the United States and Mexico, many immigrants have lost their lives attempting to achieve their promise dream. Many immigrants who cross the border pursue the American Dream. My family was one of the many immigrant families who attempted and fortunately succeeded in crossing over the border. My father’s family originated from Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. Many families just like mine risked their lives attempting to not only get to the border, but to cross it as well. My family did not differ much from the other immigrant families who sought to achieve economic stability and prosperity here

Many people across America have different opinions about how this nation is lead. Some think the democracy is not really a democracy anymore. Thoughts about the “American dream” vary in many ways. Very few citizens in this nation express outward feelings towards these issues. What does the democracy and American dream mean to me?

I am not a bricklayer, but a builder; building upon my parent’s dedication to pursue a better life for themselves and for their children. As the son of a naturalized Arab-American father, whose Palestinian origins show me the meaning of being a minority, and a Palestinian immigrant mother, who inspires me to continue pursuing my aspirations amidst the daunting and unknown road ahead, I endlessly strive to achieve my American dream.

First, let's define "American Dream". "American Dream" is what you would consider a "perfect life." It can be full of happiness, money, love, food, cars, whatever you desire, everyone has a different opinion. One person’s American Dream may be totally different from someone else’s, that is what makes us all individuals. My American Dream would include a good job and lots of money, spare time for my family and I, and most importantly, healthiness.

Ever since I was a kid, my parents always talk about the hardship they went through to get here. From a house with ten siblings, no electricity, and barely any food, my dad manage to escape poverty and support his family by pursuing his passion in electronics. With his passion, he went to high school without an elementary education and barley passed. Afterwards he went directly into the workforce and continue to educate himself until how he is today.

For as long as I remember, my mother always talks about the importance of education. Her passion for education passed down to me.My parents leaving the comfort of their country for The American dream inspires me every day to achieve my dreams.

Another reason why all Americans have an equal opportunity at achieving their American Dream is because everybody has access to an education in their early years and that’s the backbone to finding a good career that you enjoy doing later on in life. Don’t take your education for granted and every opportunity you get to learn something new, take it and make the most out of it. The more you know, the better off you’ll be. If you have the chance, continue your education after high school in a particular field you want to partake in. The best aspects from my essay were the intro and the use integrating quotes in the essay. I believe that the intro was one of the best part because it followed the parts of a inverted pyramid and that it grabs the reader and makes them want to read more. In the essay when it states “Everyone has one dream or goal in life and there are certain characteristics one must possess to achieve that dream, but things might get in the way of being able to achieve that dream”, it makes people think how is the american dream not achievable and what are the characteristics needed to try to achieve the dream. This makes the reader want to continues to read. The use of intergrading quotes was another thing that stood out in my essay. I think people do not have equal access because we come from different social standards. Some people may be rich and some people may be poor. I think that will all have to work for our dreams. I want to be a women's basketball coach in a few years, but I know I have to be involved in a program in anyway possible. So I'm trying to get an internship at College of Charleston. I know that getting a coaching job takes a few years, but I just want to keep working hard. Depending where somebody lives could also affect their dream. If someone lives in a crummy neighborhood and they do not have access to a place to achieve that dream then will not happen. If someone is born into a good social standard it easier for them to achieve their American dream.
