I deserve this scholarship because through my education I have discovered who I am. Years pushing myself to achieve perfection on assessments have proven my ambition. I’m driven to succeed in every aspect of my life. For example, I’ve maintained a weighted average above 100 for all of middle school and high school as of now. Additionally, I scored 100% on the NYS Living Environment Regents Exam. Although I’m a girl with drive and determination, I’m also compassionate. I adore animals, and cannot stand by as humans decimate their natural habitats and animal population numbers plummet. I learned much about the worsening conditions of our natural environments in my Earth Science class this year and I’ve become an avid proponent of animal population
I, De’Ja Sibley, deserve the MoolahSPOT scholarship because I am hard working, consistent, and determined. I’d like to take the opportunity in expressing my gratitude for the generous scholarship. It is an honor being a recipient for this scholarship as it is a major support towards my higher education. I would like to thank you for acknowledging my hard work and dedication as a student and volunteer in various programs and events.
When I was young, my father instilled in me the value of an education. Education is the tool for success. Without an education, you will hinder yourself in the opportunities to learn valuable skills.
I believe that I deserve this scholarship because I have dedicated my life to helping anyone and everyone I can. Starting in middle school I worked very closely with The Town of North Hempstead in all and any volunteer opportunities they offered. In 9th grade I was given the chance to help out at ht e local library, then at the school library, and have set up sessions where high school students read to the kids in elementary school. 10th grade I continued with these endeavors. In 11th grade I realized I wasn't doing enough to help, so I joined up with Shoes for Harvest. This organization collects shoes and distributes them to people who are in need. Working with them we collected over 1500 pairs of shoes, which is more then they had done in
I am currently a freshman student at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. I feel I have the qualities necessary to receive The All American Windows and Doors ‘My Biggest Success’ Scholarship which are demonstrated by my academic success, leadership roles and community involvement during my high school years. Academically, I have continued to rank in the top 10% of my class during all four years of my high school career through commitment and dedication to my studies. Through this dedication to my studies I was able to become our class Salutatorian. My leadership abilities are demonstrated by my fellow classmates electing me to serve as a class officer and member of the Student Council each year of my high school career. These duties
I could tell you that I am awesome! I could tell you that I am unique and smart and that school is my entire life. But I am not going to go that route. What I will tell you is that it would mean a great deal to me, to receive this scholarship. I enjoy school so much, that I maxed out all of my financial aid; I’d say that there is some irony within that statement. To make a long, but interesting story short, I want to finish school and without more financial aid and a rich family to support me, I am out of luck. I believe that I can do so many things in my life with a bachelor’s degree! On top of that, it makes even more sense to get my bachelor’s degree before I attempt a master’s degree—I am dedicated, can you tell?
I am applying for this scholarship to further my studies into becoming a Veterinarian. This scholarship would help lead me to pursuing my goal to becoming a Veterinarian. With my hard working skills and dedication I know I can reach my goal and be a successful Veterinarian.
As a pre-teen, I stepped foot in America with my mother and younger brother. Recently, I completed my high school education and desire to pursue further studies while I’m still here. My mom will be completing her degree in an organizational leadership program within the next year. After she’s done, she’s going back to our country, India. In that span of time, I want to change my status from F2 dependent to F1 student, so that I could utilize my time better and gain more knowledge along with a college experience. I need your permission to be on an independent visa after my mother leaves.
I would be the be the best person to receive a scholarship because it would benefit me and my education. Being a full-time mom, I'm not able to be as involved as I would like to be, but I still contribute to my peers and school. Receiving a scholarship, no matter how big or small would help me towards accomplishing my goal of becoming a RN.
Words cannot express my gratitude. Receiving the Bettye McDonald Caldwell and Fred T. Caldwell, Jr. scholarship is truly an honor! After the lottery scholarship, I end up having to pay for about half my tuition, which makes this gift is an incredible blessing. Going to school full-time and working full-time is a difficult balancing act, but not working is not an option. When I opened the email stating I had been awarded this scholarship, a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment overtook me. It gave me a deep and powerful feeling of success. This scholarship award is proof to me that hard work does pay off. It is a motivator to work even harder to achieve my goals and reach my dream career. I sincerely thank you with every piece of my heart.
The reason I am deserving of this scholarship is that, I am persistent and have the ability to put in all the hard work it will take and follow it through to achieve my goals and dreams. I believe in myself that I can achieve my goals and dreams, and I believe that this scholarship will give me that foundation I need to build a better self and enable me to become a person who will make a difference in this world.
One of my academic goals is to get the best education possible at Allan Hancock College before I transfer. I will accomplish this by always paying attention to all my teachers and do all my work and most importantly make school my number one priority. Another academic goal that I have is to transfer to Cal Poly or Long Beach and obtain my Master’s degree in education. I also want to graduate with honor and with a 3.5 GPA or above. I decided that I wanted to be a teacher because I like helping people out and also I enjoy working with kids. I selected these goals because my economic background is not the great, most of the money that my family makes goes to the rent and daily expenses. We live in a small apartment and we are a family of five; we don’t usually go out and eat at restaurants only in special occasions.
This scholarship would mean a lot to me, because I would be the first out of my family to graduate college and I was the first to graduate high school out of 3 generations. My father was a Marine for 10 years, he choose a different path instead of going to college or finishing high school. He joined the war overseas to serve his country and I am proud of him. He always told me to never join any branch because he saw a future for me that he wanted me to invest in an education and better myself in everything I do. My brothers and sister chooses horrible paths and yet I was different than the rest of the family. I wanted my mother and father proud of me and I wanted my country to be proud of me. Instead of doing drugs, drinking and partying. I was the odd kid growing up that invested myself into books and dreamed of the endless possibilities that I can become. I thought different jobs of what I can do to help my community and not fall into the evil path as my brothers and sister did. Dad always told me that I was his shining star, I didn’t really understand what was going on with family until I got out of high school. Drugs and alcohol can really screw up peoples ' lives. I am living proof that you can choose the right path to become a better citizen.
