Personality Profile The book “Personality Plus” is an informative text that discusses human personalities. The author, Florence Littauer, explains that there are four human temperaments that were initiated by Hippocrates around 400 B.C. She then explained what the four’s strengths and weaknesses are and how this concept can be useful in the creation of a more positive life. By reading “Personality Plus”, I was especially able to feel more regular. My temperament, the Melancholy, has a tendency to feel as if no other person is like themselves (Littaur 104). Because of this, my discovery that other people felt the same was an enormous weight lifted off of my shoulders. I was able to discover my own temperaments, the strengths of my temperaments and how they can benefit me as a minister, the weaknesses of my temperaments and how I should work on them, and how to understand others and their temperaments. As I stated prior, my dominant temperament is the Melancholy. The Melancholy is thought to be a serious, analyzing, perfectionist. People who are Melancholies are known for their attention to detail and their ability to digest and contemplate complex systems of information. This is due to the Melancholy’s nature to want mastery of his/her task. The Melancholy is introverted and introspective.
