Personality could be referred to as the dynamic organization within a individual of those psychophysical systems that determine their characteristics behavior. Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. The study of personality focuses on two broad areas: One understands individual differences in particular personality characteristics, such as sociability or irritability. The other is understanding how the various parts of a person come together as a whole (Boyd & Bee, 2012). Throughout life our personality is shaped based on what we have learned during life. Those seeking out opportunities to engage with others as well as social stimulation would be defined as people high in extraversion.. These individuals would often be described as positive, energetic and being full of life. On the other hand theirs introverts those people who are low in extraversion. These individuals tend to be reserved, less involved in socials situations and more so just quiet. It essential to understand that introversion is not defined the same as shyness. Begin low in extraversion does not mean you’re afraid of social situations, but simply that you would prefer not as many social situations and would like spending time alone. I could definitely say these characteristics describe my personality. It’s just so much easier to stay to yourself and involve yourself in these situations only if really necessary. Introversion’s personality traits are characterized by merely focusing on internal but not so much external sources of stimulation. Plenty of introverts could be characterized as the partying type, plenty also enjoy socializing, but you also have those who rather sit home reading a book instead of hanging out partying. You should be even more surprised to learn that there are many people who’s considered “social butterflies” who is very much quite and definitely introverted.
