Since the rise of social media, there have been multiple studies devoted to figure out if there are any neurological links from social media to the brain. They found links including the production of adrenaline, increase of oxytocin, and the activation of nucleus accumbens (release of dopamine).
First off I would like to tell you what exactly schizophrenia is. Schizophrenia is a brain disease, with concrete and specific symptoms due to physical and biochemical changes in the brain. This illness strikes young people in their prime age usually between 16 and 25. Schizophrenia is almost always treatable with medication. Contrary to what most think schizophrenia is not a "split personality", or caused by childhood trauma, bad parenting, or poverty, and not the result of any action or personal failure by the individual.(3)
When people hear the term psychological disorder, they usually think of someone who might have gone crazy or are on the verge of losing their mind. That is not always true however as, some of those diseases are pretty severe and whereas others that are not too harsh. A prime example of this would be the movie A Beautiful Mind where John Nash was having false imaginations of things including agents trying to kill this other person and amongst many other things. But none of those imaginations were true, he was just imagining them. Later it is revealed that Nash suffers from Schizophrenia. “Schizophrenia is a collection of related
Everyone has personality traits that characterize them and make them unique. Personality disorders exist when these traits become a pattern of thoughts
It is true that many people still confuse Schizophrenia with multiple personality disorder. But the truth is schizophrenia is not the same as multiple personality disorder. Both these disorder are poles apart. Schizophrenia is a kind of mental disorder, whereas MPD is a dissociative identity disorder. These two disorder exhibit completely different symptoms and also their diagnosis and treatment vary a lot. The NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) does admit that people experiencing dissociative identity disorder may hear voices in their heads; however schizophrenia is still a clearly different disease from dissociative identity disorder. Schizophrenia is a lifelong disorder that has no cure mainly caused by hereditary and environmental
Sometimes people undergo traumatic experiences in their lives that are either physical or mental and maybe even a combination of both. If the experience was so intense, and so horrible, that the mind didn’t want to remember it, or possibly didn’t know how to deal or cope with it, then that one experience has the power to split a person’s mind into “another personality”. If this happens, the other personality or personalities come out when a person who has MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder) is put in a situation that he/she doesn’t know how to handle or feels that the other personality can handle it better. People suffering from MPD also have the risk of developing some

Schizophrenia is a very interesting disorder that some people have to live with through out their lives. Dissociative identity disorder can also make a person suffering from it very hard to understand. Furthermore, both schizophrenia and dissociative identity disorder have been made famous by movies that have featured them as the main plot in their characters and have been falsely presented on screen. Both disorders have major challenges for the individuals suffering from them but with proper scientific studies both can be understood and
The causes of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder are still unknown. There is no cure for either illness to date. Treatments for schizophrenia focus mainly on eliminating the symptoms of the illness. A schizophrenic patient is given antipsychotic medications as well as psychosocial treatments.
People who suffer from personality disorders often display deviant behavior. The mental illness itself is not deviant. They typically have problems with social skills, mood swings, emotional states, and are often unable to maintain healthy, stable relationships. Many sufferers do not possess the capability to have genuine emotions, including empathy for others. A personality disorder is the basis of many circumstances of maladaptive behavior including substance abuse, self-harm, suicide, and criminality.
Psychopaths and sociopaths are both known to have an antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). Antisocial is a mental health disorder that involves a person that has a strong disregard for other people. Although, there are similarities in the two terms, they are also ways to differentiate the two. Both sociopaths and psychopaths have similar traits in that they are pathological liars and impulsive.
When people think of schizophrenia, they mix it with multiple personality disorder. Schizophrenia is one person with a split mind that has complicated rational behavior and thinking. Multiple personality disorder is when a person has two or more whole and distant personalities inhabiting the same body. Multiple personality disorder is a treatable disorder that can go away with treatment and therapy. Schizophrenia is treatable, however there is not a cure.
Everyone has their own personality. Personality is defined as a set of individual differences that are affected by the development of an individual, which typically consists of a person’s values, attitudes, personal memories, social relationships, and skills. (McAdams, Olson, 2010, p. 517-542) There are two classifications of personalities. If you are considered Type A personality, then you are more competitive, outgoing, possibly impatient and could even be considered aggressive. While the more relaxed, laid back personalities are classified as Type B personalities. No matter which category of personality a person falls under, they can be afflicted with a personality disorder. These disorders can be such a mild version that a person doesn’t even notice that they have one. But then there are some that are affected by their disorder to the point that it completely takes over their lives. So much so that they are unable to live what’s considered a normal life.
