9th graders should not be separated from the high school environment because high school is a learning process that they should go through. High school get you ready for the real world and 9th grade is the first step. In freshmen year you learn how to becoming more responsible, take care of you belongs, and learn the value of time. During that point in life you’re trying to explore your interests and having someone older share with you their experience helps you explores yours. They can help your inner dancer, artist, musician, or actor come out and grow. You receive inspiration, help and guidance from others that you wouldn’t from your own peer. You get diverse answers and help form others. High school is all about time management and
For incoming freshman who are attending to Oakland Unity, there are some things you need to know. Incoming freshmen need to be prepared for school by bringing folders and especially pencils. It's important for freshmen to bring materials school because teachers will not provide them. Since eighth grade is the last year for middle school, you would usually hang out with friends you've known for a long time. Unfortunately, when transferring to high school, friends will (or eventually) depart from you. So I recommend for incoming freshmen to try to make some new friends. Middle school grades and work were easy to achieve and weren't important back then, but now you're transferring into high school. High school is very hard and
Imagine a school year that gave the students one week off after every quarter and every Friday off. Does this sound exciting and rich with possibilities? Then ask the superintendent of the school district to consider year round school with only four days per week.First, students would not forget what they learned over the long summer. Next, parents would not have to get day care except on Fridays instead of the whole summer. Finally, teachers and students would have better relationships as they spend more time together instead of being rushed. Let’s take a look at some proof.
A handful of 8th Graders are furious of the cancellation of the 8th Grade advancement. We believe that there is no reason to cancel the 8th Grade Advancement. There are numerous reasons why students here are capsized. We postulate that it has been a BTMS tradition and should not leave for the sake of us and other upcoming 8th Graders.
Do you think that middle school should start later or later in the day or early in the day.
Ninth Grade is not the most important year of high school, you can do much better if the first year of high school didn’t go so well and you can boost your grade up by catching up. Senior year is more important since seniors often have the freedom to take more specialized high school classes, like electives, and can take advantage of AP and other challenging top-level courses. Although they have that freedom to choose their classes, without the learning experience of how to fit in. I have gotten this information from a cite that explains the importance of High school. Link is
Nelson Mandela once said “ Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.” Children should be in school as much as possible because the power of education is important and life changing. Year round school helps students keep material constantly fresh in their minds, it makes vacations more frequent, and keeps kids busy so they stay out of trouble. Year round schools are beneficial because no matter the time of year or the season, students shouldn’t have a particular time when they have to stop learning.
Let me apologize ahead of time for the length of this email, but it is our goal to ensure that you are made aware of important dates and information.
Don't you hate to wake up too early in the morning? Who doesn’t? Every school day Del Mar students are waking up around seven o'clock or earlier to get ready for school. It's too early because young minds need rest to function properly. Del Mar should start at least 15 minutes later than it does. Starting school later would improve the educational quality of Del Mar by improving our health, academic performance, and attendance. The facts are all there, so why shouldn't Del Mar’s school hours change?
There are a lot of kids that go to middle school, but what is it like to be there. Now days you hear a lot about bullying and other bad stuff that happens in middle school, but do think all of that is true. Probably not.
“I want to show that the dividing lines between sanity and mental illness have been drawn in the wrong place.”(Storr). Someone reading the title of this paper might think, “that isn’t something that happens!” or, ”that isn’t a real thing!”. Although, after researching this topic, I am very disappointed to tell you this is very much “a real thing that happens.” special education students have been removed from regular classrooms and put into separate classes created to help aid the mentally impaired. Instead of expanding their intellectual capacities, some school districts are limiting them by requiring those students to work, instead of

As I sat there and thought to myself what did everyone thing of me after hearing what I have done. “Taylor Bloom responsible for the deaths of 53 high school students. My head started to wander back to my high school days. In my sophomore year, I was bullied nearly every sing day by the stupid jocks. I started to hate myself so I decided to change my look. The next day I straightened my hair, put a black skirt on, and a white button up shirt with some heels, I left a few of the buttons on my shirt unbuttoned. I was making my way up to the school, I saw all eyes on me even the jocks could not take their eyes off of me. WAS I BECOMING POPULAR? Two weeks later I was the most popular girl in South Lake High. I had a tall, handsome boyfriend and my two new best friends Karli and Rebecca. Everyone wanted to be like me, everyone loved me or as I should say “worshipped me”. Until one night at a party I got super intoxicated and ended up doing things I probably shouldn’t have. That next day everyone was talking about it and all eyes were on me not that I am complaining, but it was not a good look they were giving me… they all knew what I had done that previous night. I did not show up for school the rest of the semester in fear I would lose my reputation so I started getting homeschooled.
School discipline is to ensure that students and the campus staff are safe and peaceful. According to the U.S. Department of Education on Rethinking Discipline (2017), “Teachers and students deserve school environments that are safe, supportive, and conducive to teaching and learning.” The idea is to decrease bad behavior and school violence which will lead to fewer suspensions and expulsions. There are rules and limitations when it comes to student discipline; there are acts in which students can and must be disciplined. For examples, if a student quality’s for special needs some different guidelines protect them under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act’s (IDEA). Furthermore, the Education Code, Section 48900 was implied to discipline students who committed any wrongful doing such as attempting or threatening to physical harm another person. In the case f any wrongfulness, the student is forced to be disciplined by being suspended or expulsed from school.
Year-round school has been brought up in discussion for many years because of the benefits it has on students but the possible negatives on the families and communities. Year-round school schedules typically have between 35-40 days on then 15 days off and 45 days of summer. Schools switch to year-round schedules so students don’t experience such a gap over the summer break. A few years ago some elementary schools in Nebraska decided to try year-round school, specifically Howard Elementary in Grand Island. Their schedule went eight weeks on, three weeks off and June off for summer break while still offering summer school (Schnitzler). They noticed that students that were apart of the summer school program had increased test scores and overall grades, but the majority didn’t change. This school only kept the year-round schedule for three years because they were the only schools in their area that had the schedule so there were many conflicts and the anticipated benefits weren’t there. Currently, York Public Schools doesn’t practice year-round school because it isn’t in our budget, however, they do offer summer boost for the elementary, middle school and credit retrieval opportunities for the high school. Would year-round school work at York Public Schools?
