Soccer, also known as football is a sport played by millions all around the world. This is not only a sport, but an activity available to anyone that offers valuable life lessons to those who play. Lessons and skills such as leadership and teamwork, determination, and friendships are a few that I have gotten out of playing soccer. Many people view soccer as a waste of two and a half hours because the game becomes repetitive and predictable. The start-off of the game is as follows, one team starts with possession of the ball with the intention is to score a goal, while keeping it away from the other team and vice versa. Watching the sport may seem boring to those who do not play because they don’t understand it. People who don’t play soccer do not realize the amount of time and effort it takes to excel in this sport, which comes down to the time spent practicing and conditioning. The more hours spent on footwork and physical conditioning, the better you become. This sport can be extremely physical, but it is also a mental game. It is important to be in the right mental state during a game because distraction in the head leads to mistakes on the field. A strong mental state is extremely important in soccer, as well as every day. The ability to multitask proves to be an advantage in the game; when a player has the ball, they need to continue to move, look for open teammates on the field, and maneuver around the opposing team simultaneously. People who understand this sport can
Many people argue that competitive sports raise numerous amounts of pressure on the youth making them distracted from things such as their education and because it can cause severe injuries, but some people argue that youth should play competitive sports because it teaches major life lessons that can help with many different aspects of their future such as college, getting a job, and many more. Playing competitive sports also improves your physical strength, another physical aspect of playing competitive sports is decreasing your chance of being obese or having disease. If you don't prefer to play competitive sports there are alternative options such as biking or walking to school. In an HT Health article “Sports Seen As Key Weapon in Fighting Teen Obesity” it says that in a study with 1,700 kids, ten percent walked or biked to school 3 ½ days a week,, in the study they found that biking or walking to school lowered the risk of being obese by 33%. I argue that kids should play competitive sports because of the important life skills taught through these sports and the physical benefit of playing sports. In this paper I will explain how communication, time management, and lowering the risk of being obese; supports my claim, “Kids should play competitive sports”

He’s at the fifteen, he’s at the ten, he’s at the five, touchdown! Football, the greatest sport to ever be played on God’s green earth. Not only is it fun to watch, but it is also a blast to play, right? Wrong. The biggest mistake I ever made as a child was playing Hudson Hawks football.
Let's be honest, Most sports or all sports are dangerous, there is no doubt about it, But we've got to be honest Football is probably one of the or Is the most dangerous sport in the world. Yes, I know there can other people saying, No! The hardest, toughest sport is hockey or golf. There is no doubt in my mind, that you can't tell me and say, Football isn't a dangerous sport? Soccer was developed in London famed Newgate Prison in the early 1800’s. Prisoners who had their hand cut off for crimes of theft came up with a sport that used only the feet. The game spread from there. The word “Soccer” originated as a slang abbreviation of the word “association”. Soccer is called “football” in most other countries. Everyone has that one special thing. The thing that is comfortable and familiar. The thing that makes every problem, worry, and doubt go away. My thing is soccer. I cannot recall a time in my life where I didn’t have a ball at my feet. Soccer has been a major part of my life ever since I was born. From attending my first soccer game at the young age of one month, playing my first soccer game when I was two years old, and still playing to this day, it is safe to say that soccer has taken over my life.
Since 1863 when the first ever professional soccer game was played in London, soccer has become the most played and watched sport throughout the world. The game is played by two teams with eleven players on each side. Each team has a goalkeeper, who is the only player on the field able to use their hands. A game lasts ninety minutes with the objective of kicking the ball into the other team's net, and the winner is whoever scores the most goals. Although that is what most people think of when they hear soccer, soccer has a completely different meaning to me. To me, soccer is a sport that is played between my 10 best friends and I. We all are passionately playing because when we play, we play with our hearts not our feet. Soccer is something
You should know that some people say soccer is a bad sport and not physically demanding. Well, you should know that is the wrong side of the spectrum. It is good for your emotional and physical health and teaches life lessons.
Football is often labeled as a dangerous, unsafe sport, but there are many good things that come along with playing football. In the past two weeks I have learned about the risks that accompany football. Many kids suffer with concussions and face injuries from the sport, which scares many people away. But, despite the risks and the unsafe label, I would allow my child to play football because it promotes health, builds friendships, and helps gain toughness.
Have you ever noticed that quitting is criticized as the worst thing you can possibly do, showing weakness, a sign of failure, and the absolute last thing you should ever do or your frowned upon, but mostly in sports? In some cases, it is worth the pain to keep pushing yourself, to face obstacles head on fearless, and knowing that your hard work will pay off and make you a stronger and the better athlete that you can be. In other situations, it is almost silly if you don’t quit. There are some definite times when you know you must leave your sport. Last school year I decide I was going to quit playing tackle football not because the change in coaching but because my heart was no longer in it, the injuries that come with the sport, and I wanted to focus on another sport.
Do you have a passion, something you love to do more than anything? Imagine people trying to stop you from doing what you love because they think it’s not useful or a waste. Some people say competitive sports cost too much and they are way too dangerous for young kids to participate in. However, for many youth, competitive sports play a positive role. When kids play competitive sports, they are happier and they learn how to be healthy. Also, they learn life lessons that they will need for the future.
