Fishing is something that is seen as a sport to many people. In their eyes, it is an opportunity for them to showcase their competitive side and even make money. Others use this activity as a hobby or a way to relax. However, this activity can actually be used to teach children some valuable life lessons.
One of the things that fishing can do for a child is teach them patience. That's because most of the time, a person has to wait a long time before they catch anything. In some cases, they may spend an entire day out on the water and not catch one fish. Having to experience this type of situation as a child, would force a young person to have to learn the art of waiting. That's because they wouldn't be able to just run away and quit easily. This is due to the fact that they would be in the middle of a body of water. Therefore, there's nowhere for them to instantly escape to.

That's because they could easily go run off to do something else like play video games, to pass the time. So, instead of learning to be patient, they just learn how to fill the time with other activities.
Another important thing that fishing can teach a child is the importance of teamwork. When it comes to this particular activity, there's usually more than one person involved at a time. That's because one person is there to provide support or assistance when needed. That is when they aren't trying to catch fish themselves, of course.
Having assistance during this type of activity is extremely beneficial in many cases. For example, a child could catch a fish that is very difficult to pull in. Without the proper assistance, the child could lose a hold of the fish or they could even be pulled in. By experiencing a situation where they would have to work together with someone else, they would be able to see just how important teamwork can
Also working in a team give people the chance to be supportive with each other and help one another.
Children thrive on routine and knowing what comes next. It gives them security and makes them more settled. It is easier for them to learn because they have boundaries set and they know that they are
Being outdoors has a positive impact on children's sense of well-being and helps all aspects of children's development.
Parents have become more afraid of car accidents, crime, creepers and diseases which have all become over-exaggerated through the media (“Why Kids Need Nature”). The lack of parental support for children to get eye level with nature and explore its’ beauty in backyards and surrounding environments is detrimental to children’s views on nature. Simple outdoor activities and time to play outside aren’t put on the daily to do list for children because the of the demanding schedule made for them (Louv, “Children's Isolation from the Natural World Is a Threat to Their Health”). Robert Louv did a ten-year study with many families to observe the amount of time children spend interacting with nature. He says in one of his articles, “Some [parents] feel [playing outside] wastes precious time. They're afraid that if they don't get the kids in Suzuki violin lessons they won't get into Harvard," The importance of success that parents place on their children in school, extracurricular activities and lessons can detrimentally suffocate the child’s schedule and prohibit them from being able to learn the best they can. The negative effect that NDD has on a child’s learning about life is significant (“Kids Need to Offset ‘screen time’ with ‘nature time’” A1). To establish basic concepts of life and learning, children need experience with the
Most people don't realize the amount of choices that are avaiable to them when it comes to ice fishing equipment. There are choices of clothes depending on the weather, choices of rods or tip ups and even choices of bait, string, shelters and everything else that you could think of.
A child centred approach is important because, if a child has an option to choose what they want to do, they will be able to process information more efficiently through the motivation of play, and how much time they have to explore by themselves. The EYFS declares that “children learn though actively investigating the world around them.” Therefore the more they engage with an activity of their choice the more they will take from it and learn.
Fishing is a fun way for me to spend some time with my family members and just relax feeling the refreshing breeze hit my face. I enjoy going with my older brother to the lake here in Newton or Out in other towns. One time me and my brother went to a lake outside of Newton in a different town and stayed there for most of the day. We hardly caught anything but it was fun being out there with only my older brother. And the fish we did catch were all to small to take home to cook and man I wish we did catch a big one.
This question helped me to establish knowledge of the subject within the group. This was important to perform a formative assessment and establish the achievement of my learning objectives.
Fishing can have some positive effects on the environment and the economy. First fishing helps provide food for restaurants to sell to their customers. Fish are also sold at fish markets so people have food to survive. Many places in the world rely on fishing to sustain their way of living. Without fishing, they would not be able to make a living or survive. In some countries certain fish and fish eggs are a very important delicacy to them. Fishing helps the world go round and provides jobs for many people who fish on commercial fishing boats. Fishing helps many people in the world, but still some people have their negative views on it.
Fishing can bring you a sense of peace and keep you physically fit. You don't have to be rich to participate in the sport, but you do need certain gear. From a fishing rod to extra bait, here is a list of the things you'll need if you want to start participating in this fun sport, or if you want to get your children into fishing. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/06/benefits-of-fishing_n_5754408.html
For example Walmart, Shopko, a bait shop are some local stores to go get one. But people might not have a ride to take them to the stores and if they have a taxi but then they need to pay them so people should not have a fishing license. But also you can get a fishing license online now so they don't have to pay for the taxi and you can get fined for not having one and for $32.00 people should not have a fishing license. 84 percent people have internet so 20 percent don't have internet so then people can't get fishing license because they don’t have
Some of the most popular current fishing practices are bottom trawling, cyanide fishing, dynamite fishing, and ghost fishing. All of these practices have two things in
Fishing to some people may just be fishing. But fishing to the people who have read A River Runs through It some time in their life, is a gift. Whether fishermen use bait, worms, or George's flies it is that much sweeter to catch some trout with a brother under one arm and a father on the other.
I was introduced to fishing by my dad when I was a little boy and I have been hooked on it ever since. I like it because to me it is more about socializing and friendships. One might not think so but it is a very competitive sport. By the end of the day, you want to be the one who caught the biggest fish. One day my dad and I went fishing. It is toward the end of the day when suddenly there was a strong pull on my line. As I yanked it back and started to reel the line in, but this fish was too strong. It kept pulling hard. I can hear my dad yelling, “Take it easy and don’t lose it!” The game of tug of war between me and the fish last about an hour before it gave up. It was the biggest shark I have ever seen. My arms were so tired from all the reeling and pulling, but it was so worth it. We release the shark back into the water and head back home. He didn’t say it but I know my dad was proud of me that day. There is something about catching fish which just gives you such an adrenalin burst and it becomes an addictive experience which you just want to try again and again. I try to introduce fishing to my little girls like my dad did for me, but they do not like it period. I guess fishing is not for
Fishing has been around a long time and has been evolving over the years. In fact, the first known fishermen were from the Stone Age. They used materials that were available to them to catch fish and put food on the table for their families. Succeeding the Stone Age however, fishing has slowly begun to transform into more of a sport than a method of providing food. National Geographic states, “It wasn't until the 15th century that fishing began its evolution into a sport. Previously, fishing was simply a means for survival.” Fishing has changed so immensely that it has become a competitive sport. Fishermen all over the world angle competitively against each other in huge tournaments for a living. These professional fishermen are awarded millions of dollars to angle out of expensive boats that their sponsors pays for.
