Texans believe that what they say is always right no matter what. You can’t talk bad about a true Texans. I remember my first day is Texas like it was just yesterday. People used to say how everything is bigger in Texas, and they weren’t lying. Just the drive seemed like it was never going to end. I remember thinking about only seeing open road and people riding on horses everywhere in cowboy boots and hats. Too bad that wasn’t true, well not the riding around on horses and everybody in cowboy boots and hats. All I saw was trees all around me and gigantic hills that you couldn’t see anything over. Although, it seemed like it was never going to end; there was some good things about my drive. Just to see how Texas took pride in their state and the beautiful scenery. I remember when I first saw don’t mess with Texas sign and thought to myself, “Wow they are really serious.” The monuments and statues of past Texans stood tall and how you can drive on the median to take pictures with the Texas signs. So, in all it wasn’t that bad.

Arizona brings to mind Spanish style villas scattered below the desert mountains, towering saguaro cacti planted along the quieter roads, suburbs and large cities with many diverse individuals inhabiting them, and Christmas lights and décor strung across a snowless green and rocky ground. For the past years, high school students were having trouble graduating and when Texas ranked the lowest in the population that received a high school diploma, the state decided to minimize the amount of exams students had to pass. Although Texas students became successful in graduating, this way of graduating harms the student because they were unable to understand the basics in their education. The reduction of End-of-course exams from fifteen to five and later to three motivate students, but also teaches them that they don’t need to work hard.

The things they have are taken for granted, and they usually don’t think twice before acting in ways that will harm the environment, such as littering, wasting food, and hiking off trails. They do not understand that they are disrespecting the ecosystem with such actions. All of these factors determine whether or not Hawaii is a sustainable island.

Arizona has many great land features like the Grand Canyon and Saguaro National Park. The state also has the beautiful Lake Powell and Lake Mead. If that isn’t enough there are golf courses, balloon flights, boating, fishing, kayaking, white water rafting, and many other activities (Arizona- Recreational Activities).

Some may be surprised to learn that Arizona has terrific camping spots that are on the water. The north central high desert of Arizona is full of these areas which include the water-carved wonders of the red rocks of Sedona and the water sports of the Verde River with its feeder creeks, springs and streams. If you are lucky enough to live in Colorado you have the mountains close at hand, so hiking should be a weekly occurrence. And there are plenty of different trails you can hike on. Each one is unique. For instance there are over fifty fourteeners in Colorado alone.
