I woke up at six o’clock. I remember running through the hallways of my house getting all of my belongings together. The heart of twelve year old Katie was beating out of her chest when it was time to go. The excitement of impelling further into life and the thought of being looked at as a big kid over joyed me! Three short years later I was fifteen years old and I found myself facing the same situation; however a contrasting feeling took over my body. This feeling took less of an eager approach and left me hesitant and distressed. I know looking at the years ahead how frightening it may seem, without any idea what is waiting for you when you walk through the doors of middle or high school. I have been through it all before, take it from someone who knows. Experiencing a drastic change, such as a new school or grade, this might be extremely overwhelming. Entering a new school is a time where you find what kind of student you are going to be. Middle school is the cardinal step in your student life, it is the first time you will begin doing more concentrated work. While entering middle school you can build a great foundation for your education and it will carry you throughout further years of study. Middle and high school students face countless distractions. You must learn to focus on your scholarly activities so you will not fall …show more content…
Some people you meet will encourage you to strive for more when others will drag you down to their level. Staying with people that want to succeed with their grades and accomplishments will influence your behaviors to mimic those around you. Some students starting a new school tend to take a lonesome approach, but that is not what you need. You need support and optimism filling your surroundings. I recall from middle and high school having friends that would constantly have drama, I inevitably got caught in the drama by associating with people I should have strayed away
Middle school is known as a time to mature for high school. For me, there were many changes I underwent after coming to the middle school.
Going from middle school to high school can be a big challenge in one's life. From
From happy moments to sad moments, from having the best time to falling asleep in class. Middle school was also a place for change. As Robin Sharma once stated, “Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.” High school will definitely bring many changes in our lives. At first, everything may be difficult but, as each year goes by you will quickly realize that you are capable of handling it because, you know at the end of the day everything will be
Looming in front of me was something new, a fresh start. Despite being this, it seemed cold and trying, something that sent shivers down my spine. Mixed emotions of uncertainty and optimism had filled my first day of middle school; and as my final year is drawing to a close, I realize that this place-this transitional time in my life- is something that I never want to leave. I created a home away from home, and a family, over the short three years spent learning here. Each school year, from first to concluding, brought new experiences in which have altered my life. These are the things that I am hoping to carry over into high school-my next chapter. Every experience in which middle school has brought leaves me changed indefinitely, shaped for the future ahead.
A handful of 8th Graders are furious of the cancellation of the 8th Grade advancement. We believe that there is no reason to cancel the 8th Grade Advancement. There are numerous reasons why students here are capsized. We postulate that it has been a BTMS tradition and should not leave for the sake of us and other upcoming 8th Graders.
Do you think that middle school should start later or later in the day or early in the day.
The question, when should school start has become a very controversial topic over the course of the last few years. Many schools are considering changing school start times to a later time, or have already implemented later start times in middle and high schools. Parents, students, and educators have had mixed responses toward this change. Students are coming to school sleep deprived, and many people feel the answer to this is changing the schedules. Starting school later is not beneficial because many students will not be receiving any extra sleep and this change would only complicate schedules for sports and parents.
Middle school. Clusters of kids standing in the middle of the hallway acting like blocked off signs you would see during construction on the highway. Random conversations fill the air, as you acquire tiny fragments of a different person’s conversation each time you pass by. It seems scary, but it's quite the adventure. Middle school and High school can be really hard for kids, and for some it comes really easy for. Some kids don’t know who they are yet, and are trying to discover who they’re meant to be. That’s why one word of advice I would give to any Middle-schooler or High-schooler would to be to “Find your purpose, and stay with it.”
Many people endure three years of middle school and four years of high school. It is an eventful time for children between 11 to 18 years old. During the adolescent years there are hormonal changes, environmental changes and emotional developmental gains. Middle school is the beginning of transitioning towards independence under the constant eye of adults. During high school they are challenged with real-world challenges that help them transition into adulthood. The behaviors of these individuals change as the factors change around them. For every person, the experience of high school or middle school may be different. Either way, both have the same goal of wanting the student to succeed and evolve. Even so, the similarities and differences vary. Middle school and high school are alike in the areas of receiving an education, socializing with others, and having teachers while different in areas of maturity, difficulty in work, and independence.
Finally, I am finished with middle school. Anxiously thinking about the first day of high school, I knew that it would be hectic and wild, but I was ecstatic. Of course, the night before I could not sleep. I lay awake dreaming about how my first day at John Paul II will go. How will it be meeting new people and seeing old friends from last year? Will high school be hard? Will I get lost? I kept thinking about the unknown and worst possible outcomes. My first day of high school was unexpected.
Throughout my life I have always been called a bright person, a reader, and an Einstein. When I was younger, I read many picture books such as Dr. Seuss and Dragon Tales and tried reading them to my younger siblings but they wouldn't cooperate. I was extremely fascinated about history and loved to play around if I was in that time period. For example, I pretended to be President Washington marching along the kitchen and even though my family didn't know much about him as they were from Colombia, they said I would make an amazing president one day. In elementary school I worked ahead of the other children and was made fun of for that but I didn’t care. Before middle I took a test that put me in an advanced math class so I can work at a much faster pass.Trust me, it was not as bad as I thought it would be so in my three years I worked hard and helped others understand the concepts of what we are learning in
It is true that the transition from Middle School to High School can be terrifying. There are new experiences, new people, and also new temptations. However, those who are prepared for High School and the challenges that may occur will be set for the next four years of their life. There are positive changes that one will most likely go through during this transition. One can change mentally and physically during this
When students make the transition from elementary to middle school it is a big step for them. They are leaving a school where they made their mark and youngest friends. The transition can often be scary for students. I remember when I was going to the sixth grade and I couldn’t find my friends from elementary on the first day because I was put into advanced core classes and they had not. An adjustment had to be made for me to realize that I should probably make new friends in my advance classes and see if we shared the same interests. Middle schools students in my opinion have it hard because so much is expected of them in so little time. A standard middle level school is only 6 th to 8 th grade. That is only three years to start to fully develop into the person that they want to be. They have to just grow and get used to
So high school kids may not have it and younger brothers and sisters will have it. I think that if middle and elementary school has it but high school does not have it, it may be hard for some parents. Though sometimes I think if we have it, everyone should have it. But do you think everyone should have it? We should not have it but it wont be fair if we have it and they do
Students go through many changes when they are transitioning from middle school to high school. In high school we are given more responsibilities, more school work, and have different types of events. On the contrary, nothing really changes either. Like the stress we get with school work, friends, and sports. Other things that may stay the same are having lockers and having the first day of school, being nervous and having all the mixed emotions.
