Today is your lucky day because I have some great aspects that will benefit anyone who wants to keep up the good grades. One prompt that will aid anyone to have favorable grades is being organized. Being organized has a very relevant role in having satisfying grades. To enumerate, when everything you get in school has a place, it is harder for an article to get mislaid. I recommend having a backpack to hold all of your schoolwork sufficiently. Most book bags have many compartments for baggage to go in. With this intention, This allows capacity to put items together with their neighbor furthermore making take the material to along with from class way more accessible than before. I would suggest to never throw any assignment given to you by the teacher in your bottomless pit that we call our book bag. If a student does not preserve all of their school endeavors, when they need the
The function of the education system is to improve students education and prepare them for the real world. Students within that system should receive an “A” when they have mastered the information they are being taught. However, grades no longer accurately reflect how much students have learned. Since 1998 teachers have handed out more A-grades while the average SAT scores have actually fallen. In fact, as Greg Toppo states, an author for USA Today, the amount of A’s handed out actually went up close to ten percent (4). Students can manipulate their courses so that they can get good grades without actually learning much of anything. With grades not accurately representing what students have learned and charter schools failing to solve problehms, teachers need to change how they structure their class or grade assignments.
When coming to high school you quickly learn that you have a lot more freedom than you did in junior high. You can eat anywhere on campus and hangout with any social group you won't. Finding the right social group is one of the biggest factors in high school. I found new friends and discovered new things I didn't know i would like. High school is great because it provides you with multiple sports throughout the year that junior high doesn’t provide such as soccer, cross country, swim, and football to name a few. I chose to be involved in soccer, track, and cross county which helped me find many friends. Cross country for me was filled with the people that were trying to achieve the same goals as me. If i could i would play every sport at the
The sound of that Buzz at 6:00 in the morning is the cherry on top for any high school teen. Waking up as early as 6:00 and going to sleep past 11:00 is the typical cycle of a high school teen. Going to school all groggy and sleepy is something any teen will agree on. That early morning bell that starts the school so early is taking away from the development of teens. With later school times the students will able to catch up on rest which means their overall attention span will increase and their mental health/performance in school will improve.
One example demonstrating that grades lead to limited learning of material, can be illustrated by a study that was conducted of students, some of whom were graded. One group of students was told about being graded and the other group was not. The group who was “told they’d be graded on how well they learned a social studies lesson had more trouble understanding the main point of the text than did students who were told that no grades would be involved” (Kohn). This experiment shows how students concerned getting a good grade detracts from the students overall understanding. In my experience, students have so much homework, activities, and pressure to excel that it becomes challenging to learn topics outside of those being assigned. For example, in order to complete history worksheets, students do not always read the passages to find the answers, but rather skim the passage for keywords
A handful of 8th Graders are furious of the cancellation of the 8th Grade advancement. We believe that there is no reason to cancel the 8th Grade Advancement. There are numerous reasons why students here are capsized. We postulate that it has been a BTMS tradition and should not leave for the sake of us and other upcoming 8th Graders.
To begin with, you are going to get straight A's and to do that is to go get your homework and start on it. After that you now need to get prepared for your classes. For Example, if I didn’t do my homework, I would probably fail and if I didn’t get prepare or organized that would be failing too. And if I didn’t do all that a straight F in a class.
18% of high school kids are obese and this figure continues to grow. How are they ever going to earn a satisfactory GPA, if they can't participate in gym? Most gym classes grade people on the amount of pushups or sit-ups they can do. If someone misses school for a couple of weeks, they are required to run 8 laps each day just to make up for their absence. This is ridiculous and very unfair for many students. For these reasons, phy ed grades should not affect a high school student’s GPA.
I strongly believe that donors, honorees and memorials in the old books should be continued in some fashion. It is disrespectful to just cast these important memories and honors into the trash.
I am writing to you in hopes that I may persuade you to add ten extra points to my semester grade average. I strongly believe that my current semester grade should be increased by ten points, as I have worked extremely arduously to surpass where I am as shown from my progress on Parent Portal.

Have you ever been extremely discouraged or upset due to a failure and felt like giving up? Well guess what it’s not the end of time and there will be another day and night. Bouncing back from a failure is all dependent on how the individual like me looks at the situation and how to deal with everything that comes with that territory. Admitting to a rejection or failure and embracing all the emotions and thoughts come in, is one of the first things a person should do in order to climb right back up. Success isn’t entirely dependent on how perfect you are on the way up to the ladder of achievements it’s how you never give up and gain experience from those failures. If you're lucky and able to achieve success, then your next goal is to take advantage of those failures and use them as experience to become even more successful.
To achieve good grades in high school a person must be disciplined in their study habits. Once a person reaches high school these habits must be ingrained into the personality of the young person so that they are second nature or it is to late.
You ask me what is an overachiever? Listen to me. It is I; tired and overworked and constantly trying my best to keep above an eighty-nine average in some of the hardest classes Laurel High School has to offer. Look at me. I am the kid locked in his room doing homework for college level classes on a Thursday night, while my friends all are in Ellisville watching Jones County Junior College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College battle it out on the field for bragging rights. Look at me, constantly thinking of my future and making the right choices to ensure it is bright and filled with success. Put yourself in my shoes and think.
