Even though the prime of flu season is not until the first two weeks of January, it is never too early or late to prepare yourself for the flu virus. All of us humans encounter a variety of germy surfaces and objects daily. When we are working in the medical office, the number of this increases dramatically. As MAs, we are dealing with sick, contagious patients. To ensure I will not get sick from the patients, I will be sure to wash my hands before and after seeing each patient, disinfect exam rooms after each patient, and be sure that I am vaccinated before flu season starts. I also believe a flu policy is a good idea to help prevent this virus from spreading to “healthy” patients and to those with weak immune systems. Lastly, any “healthy”
Will enforcing staff to comply with yearly flu vaccinations, and increasing patient education about the flu vaccination increase compliance in high-risk patients in health care facilities?
The article mentions that the Flu season starts in the Fall and reaches its peak in January or February. It is said that until very recently, flu shot campaigns did not start until October. However, according to the article, in the last few years, the flu-shot season “has stretched out” and that’s mainly because drug stores, like CVS and Walgreens, started having medical clinics inside them, and pharmacists were given permission to give vaccination.
Being around sick people constantly, you have to make sure you as the MA, that you take the necessary steps to keep yourself healthy by washing your hands before and after every patient, wearing gloves when in contact with the patient, disinfecting each room after each patient, and making
The first, foremost, and easiest way to start prevention is, having the flu shot be mandatory for everyone. Flu shots are given out at health departments, local pharmacies, and many other local places. This makes it easily accessible for the community. The places are also open different hours to help accommodate as well. A lot of workplaces offer to pay for their employees to get their shot as well. They want their employees to be healthy and do not want them to miss work. Another most important way to prevent the spread of germs is through proper hand hygiene and stopping the spread of germs. It is important to wash your hands frequently and keep your hands away from your face. Health care workers live by rules and regulations on proper standard precautions. Standard precautions are the basic level of infection control that is used as a preventative way to help control the risk of bloodborne and other pathogens being transmitted to other people. Every standard precaution is applied to every patient. Health care workers can see anyone from a something as small as a cut or to as major as motor vehicle accident. Each time they see a new patient, they wash their hands and change gloves. Everything needed to protect themselves from germs, pathogens and anything harmful is at their
Having a flu policy is the best thing that can prevent anyone from getting the flu in the flu season. I will notify the patients to do the same things that I do in order to prevent them from getting infected. One policy for patients with the flu would be being careful around people who aren’t infected by wearing a mask or avoid shaking
The problem can be better quantified by gaining understanding of the importance of receiving the flu vaccination. The manager of any health care facility should ensure that staff and patients, specifically those with a higher risk of contracting the flu, receives the yearly influenza vaccination. Health care staff that does not comply with yearly influenza vaccinations should be transferred to a unit with limited patient contact. High-risk patients who are not compliant with receiving the vaccine are to receive further education of the deadly effects associated with developing the influenza virus. In all patients it is imperative to provide proper patient
In recent years, there has been a surge of parents who refuse to vaccinate themselves and their children. However, this can be incredibly dangerous and lethal if this new age trend continues to spread. Vaccines are a weakened version of the stronger disease, and should be mandatory for all ages including infants, young children, and young adults.
The cost of college tuition is continually on the rise and has placed many burdens on high school students as well as their families. Some of the burdens that are placed are a result of parents putting pressure on their children to earn scholarships. Some of the burden is a result of students putting pressure on themselves to earn scholarships. Then, there is the burden of high college debt once the student graduates. Is this pressure really helping our students or is it hurting them? The bottom line is college tuition is skyrocketing out of control and something must be done before it destroys our families and our children.
I think that should should be held all year long, for many reasons. The majority of students want their summer vacation, which is to be expected, but you really do have to look at the bigger picture; there are a lot more solutions to issues that come along with summer vacation. Year round schooling would help teachers with their teaching, the parents with financial issues, and the marks of students. This is really the best choice for everyone, especially when this way of learning boosts grades. The whole point of school is education; not summer vacation.
Hi my name is Marah and today I am going to persuade you to get a Flu vaccination. I recently got a job working at Walgreens Pharmacy. Every day that I work I see people coming in to pick up their prescriptions that don’t look like the feel very great, with a tissue in one hand and their money in the other. No one wants to be sick, it’s not fun and it makes you feel like crap and you get absolutely nothing done. So it would only make sense if everyone was taking the precautionary measure in getting a flu shot. People should be lining up to get their vaccinations in order to prevent them from them getting sick and missing school, work or important events; but they aren’t, at Walgreens, we give maybe about 4 flu shots a day,
“If your child is vaccinated, why are you worried about them catching anything from my child?” (“Why Worry” 1) The answer to this is simple, vaccines are never 100% effective. Even vaccinated children are at risk, not just the unvaccinated. When more people opt out of vaccines they make that risk so much larger. Children should be vaccinated because the unvaccinated children could bring back deadly disease, risk exposing others, including those who are vaccinated, and the potentially fatal complications that could easily be avoided.
Why spend money that is really needed for other things? Why live uncomfortably? Why be trapped in this hole called a home that belongs to another person? Why not live free and peacefully? When a person rents he or she usually throws away money that could be used to purchase something that belongs to them. Money is not easy to come by so why pay out hundreds toward something that is not benefit to the person paying it out. There is no good explanation for making a decision like this. The best option in a situation like this is to buy a house. Buying a house is a better option than renting an apartment.
In 2018 there has been a new outbreak of the flu. This is due to the new strand of the flu, which caused the flu shot to not be as effective as it was in previous years. There has been controversy, as to weather you should get the flu shot or not. People who are against receiving the flu shot, have many reasons, such as they believe that it can cause other diseases, just straight up give them the flu, and few people believe that receive the shot can cause autism. The people who believe that they can receive diseases, the flu, and autism via receiving the vaccine, avoid getting it, and avoid giving their children the vaccine. I believe that these people have a false view of how the vaccination works, and that education on the flu shot is important,
Keeping yourself healthy can be done in a number of ways, but the most important few would be: eating healthy, check-ups, exercising, and vaccines. A vaccination is considered to be the most beneficial and protected precaution you can take. Less than 50 percent of all Americans got vaccinated in the 2017 flu season. The reasons to actually get vaccinated could include the money you waste on missing work/ medical bills, to getting friends and family sick, but a main concern is not what the vaccine is preventing, but what it is doing harmful to your brain and body. In studies starting in the 1990’s, people started to believe vaccines could be causing Autism in young kids.
If you were to walk through the most impoverished slums at this moment you would see clusters of scruffy-faced doctors, still in their scrubs, huddled together for warmth. Due to the rise of anti-vaccine campaigns, doctors are flooding the streets as their pharmaceutical sponsorship diminishes. We interviewed one of them as he huddled in a corner. “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do without the big drug companies giving me cheques to try and make human pin cushions.” He sobbed and retreated back into the huddle, scribbling something incoherent on a prescription pad.
