Fear can be a big factor in deciding things. Like Equality I use fear to my advantage. I use it to help drive me to do better on test. Equality was very brave to use fear to his advantage. A quote that helps me with overcoming my fears is “You cannot keep running away from your fears. At some point in life you will have to build up the courage to face and overcome
Be patient and sympathetic of others, as everyone you see walk past you every day is dealing with something you couldn’t possible imagine. Fear is a powerful, dark thing. It looks to drag on each of our lives constantly. Every one of us has a shadow clinging to our backs, whispering our fear in our ear. We do our best to bury in and silence the voice, but it is always in the back of our minds. All of our demons are strong and they work every day to consume us. It takes courage for all of us to confront the fears and anxiety we face.
To control my anxiety, I do whatever I think would help. When I wake up the morning of a presentation I try to calm myself. For example, I tell myself that the presentation is going to be fine, or if it is near the end of the day I will tell myself that it is not until later, so I do not need to worry about it right now. It usually helps to do this, but when I was younger I could not do it myself. My mom used to tell me these things and it would calm my nerves somewhat. I eventually picked up on how to believe myself when I try it on my own and now I can keep myself calm. If that does not work I tell others, such as my mom or friends, and they usually help. It may be really annoying to them to hear me complain about how I really do not want to do a presentation, or how I am scared because it is mentioned constantly. When none of this works I try to take matters into my own hands. If I am able to control the situation, such as a presentation, I try to get it done as soon as possible. I do things like these because to me it means that the situation will be over sooner and the sooner the better, especially with
Get Rid Of All That Keeps You From Living Life To The Fullest At some point, we have all constructed walls with which to protect ourselves. Every part of your life has been as a result of your fears – you have made your life to feel as safe as possible to avoid any of the conflicts raging inside you. It's an unconscious thing, but it's something we all do. Michael Singer provides an excellent analogy of this in the book The Untethered Soul.
1. Some relaxation techniques would help. Combating anxiety can be done by doing effective relaxation
You can't just sit there and not do anything about it. Time will go by in a heartbeat without you not facing that one challenge you have in life which is to overcome your fear. We learn from it slowly and slowly no matter what the outcome is. Our imagination is usually a bit too clear for our minds, and our worst-case scenarios can go above and beyond with the fears that we have for things. In most cases, the thing we fear may not turn out as bad as we can imagine. When we want to give up on something in any kind of situation, we lack the panorama to see how things end up. Maybe the most important lesson is that we do not need to remove any kind of fear in our life. We can welcome fear with our life and cope with it. Next time you are fearful about anything don’t make it a big thing and fight through it. Fears can be pretty rational because there are some choices and risks you will have to take because you never know if it’s going to be the right choice just like in the video “What fear can teach us”. The men had to make a pretty difficult decision because there was a very low chance of survival. These are the kind of people that afraid of everything basically. They might over think the worst possible thing and just lose their mind about it because fear is something we will all face for the rest of our lives. There isn't a way to avoid being scared in life unless you face it. Each choice we make is followed by our
Fear is a compelling emotion that drives our everyday lives, paralyzing individuals on their path to complete even the most mundane of tasks. As an infant, this emotion is intact, as even before we are introduced to new individuals, we all experience the fear of separation from our parents. This fear continues to grow, as one gets older, such as when an individual develops the ability to walk. Before we took our first step, we all had the innate fear of falling over. This happens to everyone on the first try but we keep trying again until finally we can walk and then eventually run. Often I find myself asking what if I didn’t take this first step because of fear? This seems unimaginable but the more I think about it a lot of us are hesitant
One way to overcome fear is to think or focus on something besides how high you are off of the ground. Another way is to go to therapy and talk to a therapist to help you realize you will not get hurt or fall off of what you are on. Finally, you can go to a place where there is something high off of the ground to stand on and realize it is not that bad. When you go somewhere where it is high, you can go to a public pool with diving boards, then jump from lowest to highest, this will help you overcome your fear.
such as the attendance of school, work, and social outing. The person is always living in the fear
Develop fear hierarchy. You and your therapist create a list of scenarios involving your fear, each more intense than the last.
I’m sure you have had an experience in the past when you really feared something. After doing it how did you feel. Silly? Stupid? The feeling is often one of “that wasn’t so hard after all. I don’t know what I was afraid of.” Trying to fight fear is like trying to fight the dark. You can’t do it. The way to get rid of darkness is to bring in the light. The way to get rid of your fears is to conquer them. “Do the thing you fear to do and keep on doing it... that is the quickest and surest way ever yet discovered to conquer fear” ( Dale Carnegie).
Fear is a very abstracted verb, yet everyone knows what it is. Why? Because everyone have experienced at least once in their life. We all have our insecurities and something that we are frighten of, it could be anything in-between heaven and hell, from stage fright to being afraid of the supernatural, but everyone have at least one thing that they are afraid of. The question is just whether or not you can conquer your fears and set yourself free. These thought ran through my mind after reading S. J. Butler’s short story “The Swimmer”, written in 2011, which tells a story about a woman whose fear, keeps her from doing what she wants.
Of course fear is sometims something that takes over our imaginations and suddenly it seems that every little sound makes us jump. We can get over our fears and control them if we just have the willpower. The problem of getting over fears occurs if we have a phobia or phobias. If you look up the word phobias you’ll find that in the Wikipedia is tells you that these are most commonly the result of a “combination of external events and internal predispositions”. External events are something that might have traumatized you at some point and internal predispositions from heredity or genetics.
Like the fear you feel when the lights are out downstairs and you need to run up because who knows what could be down there. Or being scared of what will be on a test and stressing about it so much that you don’t focus on the test, but the anxiety of it all.
This could include resentments, anger, sadness or feeling trapped. Choose to let go of the fear. What would you say? Are there things that you always wanted to say, but never had the ability to verbalize? Make the choice to find your voice and talk back to the fear. Take charge and release the thoughts and emotions that feed your resistance.
