People call me a lesbian because I am a woman who is attracted to a woman.
People call me a gay man because I fall in love with another man.
People call me bisexual because I can love either a man or a woman.
People call me a transgender because my gender identify is different from the sex I was assigned at birth.
Whether I am lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or straight, I should live how I want.
The statement above may be words from the bottom of the heart of one of our friends, our neighbors, or even our sisters, brother who belong to LGLT community. LGLT’s rights has been a controversy for a long time, including same-sex marriage law which allows the same-sex couples to have equal access to all the federal benefits that married opposite-sex couples have. ,

Nowadays, the same-sex couples have the right to marry under the constitution, just like any the straight couples, however, on the other hand, the opponents have different beliefs. Most their objection comes from religiosity and conservative backlash. These people believe that a real marriage is between a man and a women, if it comes from two people with same gender, it does not only destroy the norm of traditional marriage and violates natural law, but also oppose the Bible. However, the marriage definition is not about making sex, because it is totally about love. Both the traditional marriage and same-sex marriage are beyond the different religions, philosophies, education levels, financial backgrounds, careers, passions, hobbies, skin colors, so if people love someone enough, they should have the right to marry the one they love. In addition, the same-sex marriage does not against any religions, because all of religions spread
Sadly, until this problem is fixed, LGBTQ+ people will still discriminate against because of people standing up for Religious Freedom. 64% of LGBTQ+ kids feel unsafe in their school because of their sexual orientation, and 44% feel unsafe because of their gender identity. The LGBTQ+ community fair for them to be discriminated against, but this country was founded on Religious Freedom, so it isn’t fair for people of faith to go against their beliefs. Until this problem is solved, LGBTQ+ people, kids, and adults, will be bullied and discriminated against, and people of faith will feel their rights aren’t protected.
Next month will be very exciting for the LGBTQ community, when several of the openly LGBTQ communities, athletes will head to the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics to compete, which will be the most LGBTQ’s to participate in the Winter Olympics than ever before. Nonetheless, there were also seven openly LGBTQ athletes who competed in the Sochi games in 2014, which were all female athletes in the LGBTQ community
Through out my child hood I was referred to as “that girl boy” or a tom-boy. I thought I was just another little boy but it turned out I wasn't. I never knew what was wrong with me until I started to get older and learned terms to identify a person's sexuality and gender.
All people regardless of sexual orientation deserve the same rights and protections.LGBT people have been fighting for their rights all over the world. In today’s world LGBT have to fight for themselves in order to get equal rights.Gays and lesbians should be given the same rights as heterosexuals.
All families face challenges in their everyday life. For some, the challenges are easier to handle while for others, surmounting those challenges can be more difficult. Over the years, the LGBT community in the US has faced many hurdles. Whether it’s the legalization of same-sex marriage to adoption rights to alimony, child support and child custody in case of divorce, legislation specific to gay and lesbian couples still has a long way to go.
The LGBT community in the United States has always had massive difficulty fitting into our society. For many years they put up with constant mistreatment and other forms of abuse coming from the those who do not agree with their lifestyle. They have for long advocated for the acceptance of their existence and punishment for crimes committed against them. One of the hardest battles the community has had to face was the right to marry in a society that still holds the values of a traditional relationship which is between a male and female. The struggle was quite harsh but it all paid off by 2015 when the supreme court granted gay couples the right to marry. This historical decision did not go without outcry and criticisms. Most of the dissatisfaction came from those who hold very religious values and beliefs that claims homosexuality is a sin. Religion has always been a part of the American way of life since the nation's founding and with that homosexuality has been demonized throughout our society. Now that gay couple possess the legal rights to have a marriage license, religious companies and/or stores are now denying service to LGBT couples as they believe it sinful on their behalf to even take part. Many people gay or straight who fought for gay rights believe these is pure discrimination and that stores should not have the right to deny service for any customer for any reason. However, this belief is unconstitutional and goes
Regardless, of sexuality or characteristic preferences, all deserve the same respect as others. In the LGBT community equality is the goal for all members. Being able to love and be you is the biggest accomplishments of all gay rights
But because this gender identity (non-binary) is not much spoken about, I thought I was a trans boy. I even talked to one of my friends about how mainstream media or people in general mostly say that there are just two genders. That's what we are taught in school as well. So naturally, if I didn't feel like a girl, I assumed that I am a trans boy. Then I came across this YouTuber, Miles McKenna, who identifies as trans non-binary. His channel is really informative about sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression and how they have nothing to do with each other. And from his channel, I came across other non-binary YouTubers. Coming to terms with my gender identity was a long process. I had frequent breakdowns because I thought nobody would understand the fact that I identify with neither gender. So, one day, I had a break down in the middle of my political science class and the teacher sent me to talk to the school counsellor. I went and talked to my psychology teacher instead because she was the only teacher in school who I knew was supportive of the LGBT community. I told her how I didn't feel like I was a girl and how I hated being called a girl, but I didn't think of myself to be a boy as well. I told her that I'm comfortable with they/them pronouns only. It was very surprising to see that she understood and accepted every single thing I said. She said that she'd use the pronouns that I am comfortable with. That's when I sort of started getting comfortable with my gender
A lot of SJW’s are going to scream that I have “internalized transphobia” but it’s not that, I am very much like society in that I am just used to people’s sex matching their
treated un-equal to heterosexuals. Same-Sex couples and the LGBT community deserve the same rights as opposite sex couples and heterosexuals.
I’m pansexual. I like girls. I like guys. I like people who aren’t necessarily girls or guys. I am, essentially, gay. I always have been, and always will be.
Love is a tricky topic. Many have been persecuted because of who they have loved. A common debate in society is that sexual orientation is a choice. Nurture will say that the environment around a person plays a role, and nature will say that sexual orientation has to do with science. The nurture argument is a common viewpoint because many can never imagine liking the same-sex, but then why is the nature viewpoint scientifically backed up?
In today’s world, people can be described in the terms of gay, straight, or bisexual. Some people can find these labels uncomfortable. Some believe it is a decision you make and others believe homosexuality is something you are born with. By using the perspective of proposal argument, this situation can be regarded as a more vivid explanation about sexuality. Based on brain studies of the hypothalamus and genetics, it can be argued that sexual orientation is a trait people are born with.
Being a part of the LGBT in this society doesn’t seem at all “normal”. Although in the Declaration of Independence states that “all men are created equal”, equality is something that this society struggles with. In my opinion, as an accepting person, I do not realize the reason why America fails to keep the tradition of the protection of individual rights and freedom. Discrimination within the LGBT community can sometimes vary, whether it can be within your own friend group or within your workplace. There is no excuse for these people to be treated differently or for them to have to go through what they go through because of their preferences. No one should
Marriage of same-sex couples is one of the most controversial aspects in our community. Many people look at it as something that goes against some religious beliefs and/or political views. Others, those who are pro GLBT rights, explain that everybody should be treated equally, and that sex orientation, race, or social class should not be taken into consideration when decisions concerning human rights are being studied. The issue of gay marriage is one of the controversies that leave our society searching for the answers.
