In the world of sports it is a competitive place where athletes lay everything they have worked for their whole lives to win the game. Now these athletes have been striving for greatness and dedicating so much of their lives to getting bigger faster and stronger to be able to win some games and ultimately move up in their careers and possibly make a living out of the sport they love to play. Sports rewards players who are motivated and works harder than the other team and stay focused and just dedicate so much to the sport. Now there are shortcuts to becoming bigger and faster and stronger. While some athletes bleed sweat and work as hard as they can and sometimes get changes slowly and far between some athletes will take performance enhancing drugs which will help these athletes take a shortcut and beat out the others who strive to get better. There in my opinion is nothing wrong with athletes wanting to get an upper edge on opponents by getting bigger and stronger but when the athlete uses performance enhancing drugs to get an upper edge I do not agree with this and feel like those athletes should receive some type of punishment. My first reason to not agree with performance enhancing drugs are because in most if not all schools and organizations have rules that strictly state that these performance enhancing drugs are completely prohibited. So since these schools and organizations have rules against the performance enhancing drugs already then I cannot see why people
These performance-enhancing drugs are unnatural, and therefore medically unethical. Subjecting your body to something harmful is never good and a poor way to treat yourself. It is medically wrong to use these drugs.
For many years sports have played huge roles in human’s everyday lives. From entertainment, political, financial and to actually competing in them. The task for the sportsmen or women, especially in the top rank, is to beat the other competitors and get a good result from it. Here there is a high amount of pressure on many athletes coming from the media, coaches, themselves etc. They have the wanting to do well and achieve their goals and aims so much that some of the athletes turn to performance enhancing drugs. Obviously training for competition is the main thing to do but using drugs is another helper to succeeding. So, to their way of thinking, doping does not seem like cheating it just seems like
As we all know, the older the athlete gets, limitations begin to effect the athlete in the things they used to excel in. As an athlete ages, that athlete begins to notice his abilities start to weaken. When one’s whole career has revolved around a sport, and those natural declines in ability start happening, the athlete starts to look for other alternatives. That is when sports-enhancing drugs come to mind. This will allow these athletes to continue playing at a competitive level, no matter how old they are. In these cases it is hard for me to say that I believe these athletes should be stripped of all their accomplishments just because they don’t want to give up yet. People who have never
side effects and health consequences can be really bad. Not only do steroids and performance enhancing drugs hurt the health, but behavior is also changed. Liver damage and heart failure can occur, infection of vital organs and even death if these drugs are used to much (Munigangaiah 5). Once an athlete has used some type of steroid or performance enhancing drugs, the chances are high for that athlete to continue using hypertrophic drugs. In psychological terms, the side effects can lead to depression, violence and criminal behavior, and also increased aggressiveness which is known as “Roid
What if Athletes knew about the effects and consequences about taking steroids, would they still abuse them? In America today sports are very important resulting in athletes wanting to look good so, they take steroids without them knowing much like why they were invented, if it helps their performance, and hurt long term health.
Performance Enhancing Drugs are a big temptation in any athlete's life. Agree or not, the history and facts of performance enhancers will tell you what these drugs can do to your body; the good, the bad and the ugly. Any decision a person makes that putting a foreign substance into their bodies can destroy not only your reputation, but your life as well. There is a lot of history of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), it dates all the way back to ancient Greeks. There are always two sides to an argument, somebody for it, or against it there is no in-between, so there are always the people that are extremists on each side. For this particular argument there are more people against it and it seems just like a few for it; the argument here is
A lot of athletes now a days can accomplish many great things in their career. Some
Steroids are all around the United States. There are many uses for steroids among gyms and locker rooms in America. Athletes all over are pressured to elevate themselves to a higher level of play, and some of them succumb to the pressure and use steroids to become a top notch athlete, which leads to infertility in men, facial hair growth in women, and also a shrinkage of testicles in men. If athletes are caught on steroids while in competition, they can be suspended or if it happens multiple times, banned from their sport.
In horse races the horses are motivated to go faster by their riders flogging them, but athletes motivate themselves. They do whatever it takes to become just a little faster or just a little stronger. We don’t accept subpar performances from pro athletes. No, they have to be the best. They are expected to be superhuman. And because of these unrealistic expectations we have made it where athletics is all about the genetic potential of a person. How strong and how fast their genes will let them be. However, if we allowed athletes to use performance enhancing drugs, sports would no longer be a genetic lottery, we wouldn’t be rewarding people for being born a certain way. Instead we would be rewarding people for way more that. We would be rewarding
There is always downsides to allow drugs to be legalized. Sure there may be some health concerns dealing with the use of PEDs, but there are people who know how to regulate the drug and keep them safe healthy. These people can team up with highly educated doctors that will allow them to find a way to secure the health of the user. Yet another question with this topic would be if they find a safe way for athletes to use them would people see it as a form of cheating. Is there a difference between an athlete cheating in a game or a student cheating on a big exam to help them pass the class? Performance-Enhancing drugs is not a form of cheating and they should be legal only under the circumstances of keeping the athlete health safe, and need to be regulated by sport
Have you ever heard of performance-enhancing drugs, drugs that are used to increase your physical performance.? Well, right now there’s an argument about whether they should be dealt with accordingly to professional sports. The main issue right now is if they should be allowed in some of the professional sports. And right now a heavy amount of sports organizations are involved, such as NBA, NFA, even Nascar. This issue is important because right now people are using performance-enhancing drugs in drugs, and people are concerned if it's allowed. I personally believe that performance-enhancing drugs shouldn’t be allowed in professional sports, and people should be banned from using them. For example, using performance-enhancing
The use of performance enhancing drugs to help athletes perform better is illegal and considered cheating as this drug gives the athlete who may have been an average performer an edge over the competition after the use of these drugs. This is unfair to the other players who are playing a fair game. No matter at what level whether its high school, college or a professional, athletes should not be using drugs to help or boost their performance in any way as it wrong and the athlete is basically cheating his way to the top. No doubt that drugs/HGH may help the player’s vitality and even reduce injury time but the serious side effects of prolonged use is still unknown and is still cheating since it’s not legal as not every player is taking it to make it a fair game.
These performance enhancing drugs should not be used in sports. They shouldn’t be used because of the unfair advantage that they give people. They also can affect a persons health badly and can even lead to death. The extra edge that is given shouldn’t be able to be used in the athletic
Performance-enhancing drugs should not be allowed in sports and the ban should be more strictly enforced. They could do random drug testing and make them sit out games if they are caught with drugs in their system. Instead of using performance-enhancing drugs they could do exercises and dieting to help them improve their performance on the field. Some of the players are honest and do not do the performance drugs, so why should they suffer because everyone else is using them. They are put at the bottom, below the ones using drugs just for the simple fact that they are honest and work hard to be able to perform correctly during games. The individuals using drugs are able to build muscle quicker and are often first string compared to the others.
One of the biggest issues with the use of performance enhancing drugs is that they are used all over the world by athletes illegally. Most of the athletes use for Performance enhancing drugs to help them improve their physical activity. Some of the drugs and reasons are steroids which help them to build muscles,
