“Ten years after 9/11, the U.S. is still trying to balance safety and security with protecting Constitutional freedoms” (New York Times Upfront) yet, it violates civil rights. Threats are neither solely just from Israel or Muslims, they come from different places. A method called “Racial Profiling” has been used very frequently by police officers, airports, and along the border. Racial Profiling is a technique in which an officer , allowing them to use race or ethnicity, to suspect a citizen or person of committing a crime. Hispanics, Whites, African Americans, all races experience a scene in which they are pulled over. This activity causes the community of races to react as offended. People have a habit of reacting to certain scenes in which they use their judgmental thoughts as well as assuming the scene which causes them to have distress and have a reason to be insulted. There has been many scenarios in which a suspected victim has been accused of a crime, the reason for that is their race or ethnicity. False accusations are very common to certain communities. Racial profiling should not be put into action as a result of having a community of races offended and living in fear, causing a violation of civil rights, and innocent people serving jail and prison time for a crime they were suspected of doing.
