Just Keep Climbing Imagine being over eight thousand meters above sea level, blind with altitude sickness, dizzy from lack of oxygen, and still having to muster the strength to push through blankets of snow at a nearly sixty degree incline. Reaching goals in life sometimes feels like one uphill climb after another. The most important thing to remember is to keep a positive mindset during the entire journey. Nothing is too great to accomplish because "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you (New International Version, Matt. 17.20)." This sets out the true analogy between reaching the summit of a mountain and making a dream into a reality. I aspire to achieve pure felicity in everyday moving forward. I will attain this goal by living boundlessly, building candid relationships, and attending Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University. To live without limitations and confinement is to live boundlessly. One must have intrepidity through every good and bad day that comes along to exemplify this. Everyday that one receives on this earth is another chance to broaden horizons. Time is precious just like the Word of God is to one who may be going through strife. I am going to spend my free time in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, the Ocoee River in Tennessee, and the Talladega National Forest in Alabama because I don’t want to
Being a freshman can be quite intimidating, especially because you are at the bottom of the totem pole. You are worried about finding the right classrooms, impressing teachers, sometimes maintaining your grades. I can tell you from a senior standpoint that things aren’t as bad as they seem. Yes, teachers will pile on the homework once and awhile, but I promise you will survive. As graduation day is approaching fast than I want, I have a little advice for freshman. Freshman you need to take your grades seriously because they will impact your future, you may think you know everything, but trust me you don’t, and most importantly is to have fun because before you know it you will be writing this same timed writing as I am right now.
I am a 17-year-old junior at Port Saint Lucie High School. I plan on graduating with high honors and getting scholarships for college. When I graduate, I don’t plan on “taking a break” I plan on enrolling to a four-year college. I want to study in the medical field. I’m planning on majoring in being a nurse, or a registered nurse or a paramedic. My top two choices for colleges are located in Boston Massachusetts which are Northeastern University and Boston University. While being in college I also plan to have a part time job that will help me pay all my expenses.
The debate over whether college is worth it has been a topic of discussion for decades. Going to college is worth it for a variety of reasons. People who go to college and get degrees on average have higher employment rates, larger salaries and get more benefits than high school graduates. People who go to college also have better interpersonal skills and are better prepared for society. Most jobs today require a college degree and jobs that don’t require it, in order to move up the ladder in the company you may need a college degree. It is true that you don’t need to go to college in order to become successful and wealthy. Some people will say that billionaires such as Bill Gates and Marc Zuckerberg dropped out of college so they don’t need
“Keep your goals out of reach, but not out of sight.” –Anonymous. All goals in life should be challenging, or a dream you have. Never set the bar too low, to make it easy on yourself, nor set the bar to high, that makes you put yourself under some much stress so it makes it impossible to reach your goal at a healthy state in mater in your life. Having goals in your life helps you picture what you want in the future and what the future has in store for you. There is a difference between the goals you want to happen soon and the goals you want to happen in the future. The goals you what to happen soon are call short term goals. The goals that you have set for your future are called long term goals. Three short term goals I have are, making it to state track, joining NHS and NSHSS, and getting my CNA. A long term goal I have is to graduate from The University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in
Whether going to college or going straight out into the world is what many face as high school comes to an end. When making a decision there are many factors involved. Do they know what they want to do? Does what they want to do require a degree? Whereas the cost and debt of college would put them in is unnecessary, going to college is worth it given that college gives better benefits in the long run, are more likely to get a job, and it gives an experience that you will never forget.
Did you know, not everyone in america has the same chance at achieving the American Dream? In this life, it is made to believe that everyone will have an equal chance at achieving this goal when reality will tell you otherwise. The American Dream is a beautiful thing, full of mysteries and fortune; like a roller coaster it has its ups and downs at certain points but to fully understand the reach of it, you must dissect what people perceive it to be then put real life chances in. The thought of reaching this goal resides among all of us and your opportunity is out there somewhere. Not to mislead those who seek this treasure, this will not be an easy task. The journey is long and hard, but if you so much as have a tenacious vision to achieve it, then your will, will be completed. You'll see, that is can be divided into two categories, both can have their normal effects. You’ll earn a deep sought after respect for yourself and those around will also pay homage and hopefully follow in your footsteps.
My goals in high school mostly include keeping a steady, high GPA that is a pretty high three, I hope to make new/more friends and to keep not having a missing assignment every school year. Once I graduate high school I plan on going to a good college though i'm not quite sure where yet. I dream of going into the medical field once I finish college, maybe a veterinarian or one of the many other kinds of doctors for both people and animals. I'm not sure yet about fulfilling a military or army based future, but it does fall under consideration. I have also though about not fighting in the military or army, but doctoring the men and women that do fight. Even though my career decisions are still undecided, I am positive that I will do the
Here are some things that I wish someone has taken the time to tell me at the beginning of my freshman year. Where to Live: You have to spend a year or two living in a HUD dorm. (aka Evans, Lewis, and Wilson) And although not technically a HUD dorm, Ferrin is also a wonderful choice for a freshman. Although these buildings may not be as flashy and offer you quite as many amenities as the newer dorms do, the camaraderie that you find there will be infinitely valuable to you during your four years. The newer dorms, Chase, Fulton, Nyland and Tavilla are wonderful for upper classmen who really need to focus on their studies. Their suite and apartment styles are really wonderful for later on when you have cemented friendships, but are not optimal
Every summer my church runs week-long mission trips to a variety of places where we have to opportunity to serve the community there. I would be more than happy to travel the world, but I would be overjoyed to spend an extended amount of time in each community to get to know the people and culture there and to serve the community any way I could. Also, this song beautifully illustrates the impact nature has on a person. “Open space, far from hate. It's easy breathing. Earth and stone feel like home beneath my feet and I've got no shame. I'm sticking to sweet sensations, riding all of the good vibrations.” This verse describes two things. Explicitly, it accurately talks about the amazing feelings associated with being outdoors in the open air. However, on a deeper note, it properly represents my thoughts and feelings at this point in my life. For the past couple of months, I have been striving to be the best version of myself.
My personal goal as a student at the University of Phoenix is to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management within the next two years. This goal is very important to me because of the impact it will have on my family, work and personal life. In my family it will set a positive example for my daughters, grandchildren, and youngest sister. My family has been a source of support throughout my years in college as I have pursued this degree while maintaining a full time job. Obtaining the degree will be an accomplishment not only for me but also for my family who has given me the encouragement to reach my goal. I would like for my grandchildren to remember their grandmother as a strong and educated woman.
As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy-tale like, we tend to see life through a rose-colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.
Life as a university student can be tough, but to make sure you get your money and times worth out of it you need to know how to be a successful student. Being a successful student requires a combination of attending your classes, doing your homework, and monitoring your level of stress. This may not sound too hard, but once you are in the moment and need to juggle all of these things along with all of the other responsibilities and challenges life entails it may begin to seem like a much more difficult task.
Success is to fulfil a goal that you have set for yourself. Achievement of success involves five components: realisation, confidence, motivation, action and perseverance. Step one is to realise your goal and how to achieve it. Step two is to have the confidence to take the steps towards your goal. Step three is to find motivation to keep you on the path towards you goal. Step four is action, the first physical step you take in the process for success. Step five is perseverance. On the road to success, you will most definitely come to setbacks and struggles. The only way to conquer those things and achieve your goal is to have strong perseverance. As David Brink said, "A successful person is one who
‘Motivation’ is derived from the Latin term ‘movere’ that means ‘to move’. Thus, motivation is a process that starts with a physiological or psychological deficiency or need that activates a behaviour or a drive that is aimed at a goal or incentive (Luthans). Broadly speaking, motivation is willingness to exert high levels of efforts towards organizational goals, conditioned by the efforts’ ability to satisfy some individual needs (Robbins). Need means some internal state that make certain outcomes appear attractive. An unsatisfied need creates tension that stimulates drives within the individual. These drives generate a search behaviour to find particular goals, that if attained,
My whole life I have always wanted to become a successful engineer, and graduate from the University of Cincinnati. Some of my goals in life are to go to the University of Cincinnati. Another one of my goals is to become some type of engineer. But as of right now I would like to be a aerospace engineer. To be honest I really don’t know what influenced me to want to become and engineer. But something about engineering always appealed to me for some reason. But lately my engineering teacher has had a positive impact on me and is really making me like engineering and the overall field. So I guess that Mr. Smith has influenced me into being an engineer. My plan b is to be an engineer too. But this type of engineering would just be easier to
