Loud, crowded, and boring is what I would call an interstate, would you personally enjoy driving on an interstate or a highway? Well most people take the interstate because it's much faster, but where is the fun in that? To me, an interstate are not faster but they are much more enjoyable. Also, the author of the article "The Best Highway of America is on the Blue Highways" states his opinion on how route 66 represents America and his evidence is quite effective.
The State Fair of Texas has been a family tradition for me and my family for many years but this year I was able to pass the tradition on to my friends. The State Fair of Texas is in Dallas Texas at Fair Park and consists of multiple rides and food and most importantly the famous Ferris wheel. One of my favorite parts of the fair is all of the amazing and different kinds foods they have available to try. The people who came with me were some of my friends from college, some of which who have been to the fair and some who have never been. Another fun part of that day was the drive up to the fair and back to Waco. I was the one who was driving the car so that always comes with its perks and responsibilities, still the drive still consisted of much enjoyment and laughter. A good road trip to the fair with friends needs to bring everyone closer, cause a great amount of joy or happiness and laughter, and must be with a great group of friends. My recent trip to the state fair with my friends is the perfect example of a road trip with friends due to all of us becoming a lot closer to each other, the great enjoyment and happiness of our group of friends, and the group of friends that made it such an amazing and unforgettable trip.
Do you know how long it takes into you get your license ? At the age of sixty without driver education you have to wait 270 days to take the test and you have to have so many hours driving with a parent. It takes six months before you can take your driver license test . But ,if you have successfully completed an approved driver education program you can get it sooner . I don’t think that’s fair . Anderson needs to change the policy to make it easier to get a driver license .

Boom! POW! Seeing America on the interstate is not a good choice. The author of the passage "The Best Of America is on the Blue Highways" explains why traveling Route 66 is the real way to see America. On the two-lane highways you can take as long as you need, but on the interstate you have to be fast. The author was effective in proving that Route 66 represents America because on the interstate the roads are flat and straight and has nothing to look at, Americans drove by Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica in the 20, and was not being fast passed.

Death is calling to him. The prisoner is anxiously waiting to be strapped to a table. He wonders what could be on the other side of the living. Is it God waiting for his soul to be judged? Or is it plain darkness? The guards finally escorted him to the chamber where his fate lies within. A very fine needle is inserted deep into his vein and what the vile tubes contain are sodium thiopental and pancuronium bromide. Once injected, these chemicals will shut down the body completely. After a steady rhythm of the heart monitor declined, there was a long flat beep sound. A doctor examines the body and the prisoner is pronounced dead. The U.S currently have 2.3 million people locked up in a prison or jail (Mass Incarceration) . Majority of the States have the death penalty for criminals with violent offences. However, There’s a lot of controversy surrounding capital punishment. Both sides of the argument are consistently trying to persuade the population whether it’s right or wrong. The movie, Dead Man Walking, is based on a true story that centers around a death row inmate Matthew Poncelet. Sister Helen, a nun, is called to help him for an appeal to escape the death penalty. The film illustrates both factions of the argument by demonstrating the usage of the persuasive techniques like pathos, ethos, and logos.
Route 66. One of the first roads of the U.S. highway network to be built, Route 66 ran for 2448 miles from Chicago, IL, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before finally ending in Santa Monica, CA. First commissioned on November 11, 1926, the road also became known as the Mother Road, Will Rogers Highway, and the Main Street of America. With the development of the Interstate highway system and, especially, I-40, Route 66 became less relevant and was scheduled to be decommissioned. When it became apparent the interstate highway would bypass Williams, the town filed a lawsuit against the Federal government in an attempt to block construction of the highway. To settle the suit, the Federal government agreed to build three exits on I-40 for Williams, effectively ending the litigation. With the lawsuit settled, construction of I-40 was completed and, on October 13, 1984, Route 66 was officially decommissioned, signaling the end for one of America’s most storied
George Orwell’s novel 1984 reflects on the society of dystopian city Airstrip 1 where main character Winston Smith lives. Along with the many other citizens, Winston is controlled by the Inner Party by constantly being monitored via telescreens that keep sight of everybody and their actions. Besides using telescreens the government also easily arrests people in any case of “thoughtcrime” which consists of any thoughts that regard disobedience towards the government. Thoughtcrime and telescreens are two of the several factors that reflect the extreme surveillance in 1984. Orwell uses surveillance as the central theme of the novel to spread his idea that the usage of more extreme surveillance could eventually lead to a totalitarian society. On a less extreme scale, today’s society also has a significant amount of surveillance but many question whether or not more surveillance is necessary. With the many current text sources, it is certain that we need less surveillance in order to keep a stable society that does not take away the individualism of people.
Honk! Honk! Seat belts buckled? Have you ever wondered how America looked while sightseeing down Route 66 back in the past? As you often travel down a flat, straight road, you are thinking this road trip is terrible, but when you get on Route 66 you feel like a bird soaring through the sky. Most people choose to ride on the interstate to get to places quicker, while in my opinion taking the back roads is way better because you get to explore new sights. Way back in history route 66 was a unique road to travel on, and the story "The Best of America is on the Blue Highways," really explains why. This author gives great examples of driving on Route 66, and what it represents.
