Many incoming student athletes face problems with being out of shape when they first start their season. Many will claim that they will start to get in shape when they begin practicing and once they get used to it. It could be true for some student athletes, but they will find themselves struggling throughout the first couple months. Why not start off the season already in shape by eating correctly. Diet will be one of the most important lifestyles in a student athlete’s life. A lot of new collegiate student athletes will not know that eating three meals a day will help them throughout their whole season as well as their pre-season. I believe that all student athletes should consume at least three meals a day while keeping in mind what they are eating. Not only is it important for them to eat three meals a day but it is very important for all student athletes to consume the right amount of water everyday.
Many people argue that competitive sports raise numerous amounts of pressure on the youth making them distracted from things such as their education and because it can cause severe injuries, but some people argue that youth should play competitive sports because it teaches major life lessons that can help with many different aspects of their future such as college, getting a job, and many more. Playing competitive sports also improves your physical strength, another physical aspect of playing competitive sports is decreasing your chance of being obese or having disease. If you don't prefer to play competitive sports there are alternative options such as biking or walking to school. In an HT Health article “Sports Seen As Key Weapon in Fighting Teen Obesity” it says that in a study with 1,700 kids, ten percent walked or biked to school 3 ½ days a week,, in the study they found that biking or walking to school lowered the risk of being obese by 33%. I argue that kids should play competitive sports because of the important life skills taught through these sports and the physical benefit of playing sports. In this paper I will explain how communication, time management, and lowering the risk of being obese; supports my claim, “Kids should play competitive sports”
Every Saturday during the fall season, everyone will tune into watch the coveted college football games. Watching The Ohio State Buckeyes or The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, battle on the field to see who is the true victor. But no one every truly ask what the money is behind the programs. The Ohio State Football teams annual cost is $34,026,871 while the whole university annual budget is $5.7 Billon (). Just the football team is .59% of all the budget, even though this seems like a very minimal number it is quite huge mathematically. If the college would choose to make budget cuts the odds of the program being cut are so minimal, they would rather cut the English department even though it is way less beneficial for the college. College football is one of the few varsity level sports that all colleges have, most sports programs a black-holes money wise. Sucking in vigorous amount of funds while returning little to none. In 2014 out of the 130 DI Football teams only 24 teams actually made a profit from the sport (). Football being the number one sport in most colleges. The bigger the school the more money it will be able to produce from the football team but this is very rare. The whole subject about why college sports are even a thing is very controversial. One has to truly look at if the whole athletic programs are truly worth it. College athletic programs are very controversial and should be cut in some schools. College athletic programs cost way too much, are rarely
A trio of Hettinger baseball players put their talents on display for scouts of the highest level during a camp in Mandan a few weeks ago.
Always play in practices and games with sportsmanship and respect for all players, coaches, parents, and umpires. I fully understand that all Randleman Clutch Baseball travel team players must obey a “code of behavior” on the field.
For the past century, baseball has been America’s national pastime. As these games play out on television, younger athletes are primed to take these players places someday. As kids begin playing, they have to often learn the basics of hitting, fielding, pitching, and running. Parents often push their kids into playing sports at such a young age to begin creating a positive friend circle. Often known as the Boys of Summer, these young baseball players play often throughout the spring and entire summer with their friends, with pizza parties and ice cream stops after a victory sprinkled in. During the long and usually overwhelming season, these young children rock the diamond in often many cities and towns across their home state and beyond.
High school athletics are important to athletes that eat, sleep, and even dream sports. This is awesome for anyone that loves and has a passion for the game. What happens after a couple years of high school athletics if a player is really good at what they do? These athletes will start getting offers from colleges and if they are good enough then they may get offers from the NBA.
I think it would great for college athletes in the NCAA football video game to receive compensation from the game because the colleges shouldn’t be the only ones benefiting from the game. There are athletes that get injured playing college football and their careers are done, so I feel it would nice for athletes to receive something from playing the game of football, especially after college. If college athletes that don’t make it professionally in a sport could receive compensation for their time playing sports, it would create opportunities for them to start businesses and become involved in other careers.
Last year during the beginning of the 2016-17 season a Former NFL player Colin Kaepernick started the season with a quiet protest of kneeling during the Star Spangled Banner. Nobody noticed until the second week of the preseason when he knelt again. His purpose for kneeling was to shed light on racial inequality and police brutality.
There are many fans and parents that like going to games to see their favorite players or kids play and they spend their game time watching their players make baskets or scoring touchdowns. But, there are also those fans that sit in the bleachers game after game whose players never seem make it off the bench. This happens more often in High School sports than college and professional sports. The coaches of any sports team usually put in the best players or maybe they have a favorite player that's the “star” player that gets more time in the game and more practice and help outside the games and practices. Certain players, however, should not get more attention from their coach or coach’s than others.
Baseball represents some of what is best about America, in ways that other parts of our culture do not. It is for all people, who are wearing their baseball gloves, eagerly awaiting a foul ball. Baseball teams are now the most integrated in sports, made up of players who are Latino, Black, White, and Asian. With that said, I plan to contribute to the community life and activities by enjoying and learning about every culture, contribute to its stability and growth, and treat everybody the same, irrespective of language, color or belief as an equal. I have learned honesty, integrity, and all its meanings. These qualities

There is a certain magic in baseball. Maybe it’s the crack of the bat. Or the crowd coming alive. Perhaps it’s how individual strangers are joined, invisibly, in solidarity. We cry together. Breath together. Agonize together. All experiencing the same emotions at the same time. Especially when your team breaks a decades long curse.
Many People think that the collegiate sports are just a form of entertainment for them and the players but the players think of these sports as a job. The NCAA is the National Collegiate Athletic Association and it is the center of making all of the rules for collegiate sports. They decide on if student athletes are employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act or not. Student athletes do not get enough recognition and seen as students or entertainment but not as employees. Although some people do not believe student athletes deserve the recognition of being employees, others know they should because these students fall under the title employee from the requirements placed by the Fair Labor Standards Act.
incorporate families. He also runs ads targeted at kids, including spots on the local Radio Disney affiliate that promote the team’s kid-friendly giveaways. In addition to those giveaways, the Angels have three main youth-focused in-stadium events: a kid’s opening day, held during the season’s first home stand but after the actual season opener; a Kids Run the Show day, in which children
