Introduction and Thesis Companies in every industry attempt to attract consumers by creating effective marketing and advertising campaigns that appeals to various consumers and target audiences. The use of advertising can benefit a bus Banning the Advertisement of Alcohol and Tobacco Banning the Advertisement of Alcohol and Tobacco by increasing the sales of a business, providing information about new products, create brand awareness and generate customer loyalty. Although, advertising may provide business with the means to promote their products, it should not be at the cost of someone’s health. The promotion of tobacco and alcohol through advertisement aids in the development of alcohol and tobacco dependency and can create negative health issues in those who consume these products; therefore, advertising should be banned on these products. Public Health Impact Medical Issues due to the usage of Tobacco According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2016), Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States. Furthermore, the use of cigarettes and other tobacco products contributes to the death of 1 out of every five deaths in the United States. Moreover, I believe that the potential impact of shorting an individual’s life by allowing the tobacco industry to provide a message that seeks to promote the use of this deadly product. Furthermore, the use of tobacco products can have a negative impact on almost every major organ in the human body. The impact of smoking greatly reduces the function of the heart and blood vessels as well as, how smoking can affect an individual lungs and breathing. Smoking can create negative health conditions such as atherosclerosis that can be developed due to impact of smoking. Other medical conditions that can be developed due to the use of smoking is the development of aneurysms and/or cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, chest pains, and the potential for having a heart attack. Additionally, the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (2012), states, Breathing tobacco smoke can even change your blood chemistry and damage your blood vessels. As you inhale smoke, cells that line your body’s blood vessels react to its chemicals.
