How do you expect kids to have fun or get some type of exercise if they do not play sports? Without the use of sports, the rate of obesity in kids increases dramatically as they tend to play more video games or sit around watching TV all day. Sometimes the kids want to play sports or do some type of activity but there’s always some type of excuses from the parents of why they can’t (for example: I’m too busy, I have to work). I believe that all students that is currently attending a high school should play at least one sport a year. I believe that because kids today are so occupied on their phone, and other apps that they do not go outside and play. After school many kids go straight home to their phones; however, with sports, after school they go straight into a fun, healthy activity that benefits the mind and body.
The AHSAA (Alabama High School Athletic Association) reports that a total of 90 home-school students have joined junior and high school athletic teams during the 2016-17 school year, with only 13 playing the marquee sport of football. Homeschooled kids should be allowed to play in public school sports. Everyone should be allowed a chance to prove themselves, no matter what. No matter where they are from, no matter what they do, no matter even if they are homeschooled! If this was you, not getting a chance to prove yourself. What would you do? While there is a numerous group of parents who have no problem with their child being involved in football, recent revelations would begin to grow concern in some. It is because of this we must ask, should parents disallow their children from participating in football, or should they focus on the more positive benefits that the organized sport could have?

Do you have a passion, something you love to do more than anything? Imagine people trying to stop you from doing what you love because they think it’s not useful or a waste. Some people say competitive sports cost too much and they are way too dangerous for young kids to participate in. However, for many youth, competitive sports play a positive role. When kids play competitive sports, they are happier and they learn how to be healthy. Also, they learn life lessons that they will need for the future.
In my opionion, I rather my child have organized play. I believe it is correct that sports help develop heathy attitudes for themselves. It will also show in many cases how to work as a team to acomplish a goal.
