Every day, millions of people wake up afraid of bullies. Bullying can happen anywhere, anytime. Bullying is a big issue these days, and bullies’ actions are very unpredictable. No one knows who a bullies’ next target might be and what their reasoning is. Today, bullying can be considered more extreme than it was even ten years ago, with the advent of the internet and resulting cyber-bullying. Many celebrities and organizations are speaking out for the cause, warning others about the dangers of bullying and the sometimes-fatal consequences.
What appears to be bullying is not always bullying. There is this misconception that when someone disagrees with another person or is hurtful towards that person, bullying always seems to be what they say is going on. Although statistics shows that one in four kids are bullied, all aggressive actions are not bullying. If a person has self-esteem and self confidence in themselves and not let others tear you down the imbalance of power is balanced. Bullies have more power over their victims and always want to be on top. They enjoy displaying the power they have over their victim.
Schools say “no” to bullying, but why not say “yes”? Bullying is good for teachers, students, classes, and the world. Bullying can help everyone whether they are the bully or the victim. Everyone wins when it comes to bullying. There are so many reasons why instead of saying “Bullying is very bad,” schools should say, “You should bully (but not everyone) because some people need to get bullied.” What would teachers do without bullying? I know they really enjoy sitting in bully training where they are told the same thing repeatedly. The students’ school days would be boring, right? 32 hours of the school year is taken up by lessons about bullying. What would you do with that spare time? Well, the teachers would just give us more work. Fun. Also, bullying is a part of life. If you get bullied, oh well for you. After high school, it’s not like you’ll ever see the bully again. The bully most likely will end up in jail. If someone bullies you, why not stand up? There needs to be more fights after and during school. The more that people stand up, the more fights that will probably end up
Bullying is very bad and because of this about 160,000 of 13,000,000 kids stay home so they don’t get bullied by anyone. Also out of that 13 million 2,000 commit suicide because of the harsh bullying. Since many kids around the world are being bullied schools have been starting an anti-bullying system which brings bullies down by 15%. When kids reported bullying 80% of it is name calling, 39% is hitting or shoving, 38% is threats, 29% is rumor spreading, etc. Everyone should always remember one rule and that is the golden rule, the golden rule is to treat others how they want to be treated, but some bullies just don’t understand so they make everyone feel bad about themselves.
I believe schools should be free of bullying because it is a place where we need to study and build fundamentals for our future. Bullying damages the bullied individuals emotionally, academically, and intellectually. I know this from a personal experience, I suffered from bullying for about three years in high school, and I know how it feels to be bullied and to be afraid to assert myself. The bullies used to bully me by calling me “ugly” and “stupid” and many other phrases…I used to hear these negative words and phrases daily. It even affected my academic performance, and I used to tell myself that it is okay, I am not the only one who has been through this and not survived. Plus, I was scared if I faced them and tried to defend myself, it will be worse, so I used to deal with it by silence. It stopped when I decided to speak up about it to my teacher. After talking to my teacher, who took care of the problem, nobody bothered me after that day. If I had not spoken up and stood up for myself that issue would have never been solved. This example shows the significance for students to speak up for themselves to solve their own problems. Consequently, we should never hesitate to assert ourselves and ask for help if we have an
If a teacher witnesses a student even being slightly mocked they should intercede immediately. This is often not the case, most teachers wait for students to reach out for help. Don't teachers know it’s hard for students to speak up? They're afraid of being "snitches" or "tattle tales," as kids say now days. We need teachers who are alert in the classrooms. It would be best if teachers reached out to students and not the other way around. Many students are afraid that if they are getting bullied and they speak up the harasser will find out and hurt them more either physically or mentally .Some pupil also are petrified that if there comrades find out they will
Everyone needs to stop bullying because there are people who go out of their way to bully someone. They don’t understand how it can mentally and physically hurt them, neither do they understand its one of the many causes of teenage suicide. Imagine a school without creative students, a school where no one is happy. Schools are supposed to be a good time, not some place where you get insulted till you’re off to college.
Bullying in the K-12 system in America is a serious societal issue. Bullying is commonly discussed and argued in our society, and it can be seen on the news and in the media very frequently. The problem with bullying is that it has been around for a long time, yet it is still not being fixed. Schools cannot continue this way because it damages young children and causes issues throughout the life course. As scholars have found, bullying leads to lower academic performance and low self-esteem, which shows the need for change. In a survey of about 50 peers, 43% agree that bullying is an issue, and 35% strongly agree with the statement. This means that more than 75% of respondents agree that bullying is an issue in our country. All teachers,
Why should teachers promote bullying you may ask? Teachers can benefit from student bullying other students. With the several weeks in the school year that are spent lecturing about bullying, that time could have been used to assign more homework or classwork which ultimately is more work for the teachers to grade. In school, especially high school, bullying is something that’s just going to happen. Once you graduate, it's not like you'll ever see them again, if you do then at that point it won't matter.
One of every five students is bullied each year (Bullying Basics,2017). Knowing that the problem of bullying is a large possibility in their classrooms, administrators’ and teachers’ main goal must be to offer a safe classroom and a positive, supportive learning environment to their students. If they work together to reach this goal, bullying can be
What if you were terrified to go to your school every day? 160,000 students miss school everyday because they get bullied and are scared of what will happen (“Bullying Statistics”). Bullying has been a major problem in schools for too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is supposed to be safe and where they can express themselves. Students that bully never get the punishment they deserve which causes them to continue to act. When you go to school, you should know that if you are getting treated in a horrific way, the people who were treating you that way will get punished. Students who bully should be suspended from school.
We all remember those people in school that loved bullying others for fun. Maybe you were even one of those poor kids that got bullied. It was no fun for anyone around and yet most of the time no one ever wanted to do anything about it. Did you know that this practice is still relatively common in schools all over the country. The plague of bullying is an overwhelming problem inside and outside of school.
Nothing is more irritating than when I hear about someone who is either getting bullied or being the bully. Active bullying is not something that should even be a thing in this world, but it is, and it is inevitable to happen. Imagine going to school everyday and not hearing about any drama for your whole high school career. Yes, it is very hard to imagine because almost every school has dealt with some sort of drama, but think of how much more would get accomplished and how many more people would succeed in this world without taking their own life or needing help for everything. Everything in life would be so much simpler and students, teachers, workers, etc., could probably learn more and have a much better lifestyle if no one had to
Many people do not realize how serious bullying has become. If you look at statistics suicides due to bullying have increased over just a few short years. This has become a very big problem for not only the victim but the bully as well as it affect both of them. School bullying is mentally destructive to not only the victims, but bullies because of the harmful words, harassment, and physical violence involved as well as the consequences for the bully.
The outcome of physical violence can cause a grave threat to those students who cannot defend themselves or don't know how to deal with bullies.
Bullying is a big issue in the world these days. It is our job as teachers to address this issue in our classroom and teach children that bullying is not ok.

Bullying has been around for as long as anyone can remember, but it is beginning to increase in schools. Over three million people are victims of bullying every year and thousands skip school to avoid the bully. Bullying leads to depression, suicidal attempts, and occasionally death. Today, there are several forms of bullying as you may already know. We have cyberbullying, emotional bullying, and physical bullying. Sadly, there is no way we could stop bullying completely, but we could prevent a great deal of bullying. We can prevent bullying by showing people the outcome of bullying someone, speaking up when you see it happening, disciplining the bully for their actions, and giving the ones being bullied confidence. Although several do not feel the same way about bullying, we must have an open mind about the issue. If you were the victim of bullying, how would you feel if no one was willing to help you?
