To hear him howling in pain, crying out for our lady mother, tore at my heart. It had started in the early morning hours days before. Was this to be the end of my beloved brother? What would become of me? "Make him stop! For the love of God, make him stop!" I begged the good physician, who stood, rummaging through his bag of medicines and tools, at the foot of my brother 's bed. "My Prince," he said without turning, "would that I could, but I cannot." "Surely," a white-faced guard near the door trembled. "Surely there is something you can do?" "I can make him comfortable," the physician murmured. "I can give him something to take his mind from the pain, but I cannot take the pain." Before the guard or myself could beg for a miracle from a man unable to give us one, the door swung open, and in walked my uncle, Lord Protector, in his customary black tunic and hose. "My Lord," the physician bowed as the guard sprang to attention. My uncle swept passed the man and knelt at my brother 's bedside. "Your Highness." His voice was a soft, sad whisper. "Can you hear me?" My brother turned his head, and let out a wail of pain as he did. "U-uncle?" he gasped out. "Uncle, please. The pain..." My uncle turned his head to the physician, despair written upon his face. "Good sir, tell me there is hope." The physician paled. To answer that question was damning, and well we all knew it. If he were wrong, his reputation would be ruined, and his very life could be in danger. "Tell me true, man!"
Death, the one thing all of humanity will eventually face, could be seen as an end or an entrance. What is your extent of a friendship? How far are you willing to go to help the person you care for? For numerous reasons, a broad amount of people think murder is immoral—especially if it was your own best friend. But sometimes we may have to go to the extreme, as long as we know it was the right thing to do from the heart because that’s how much you know you care. In this story Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, I strongly believe that George was right to kill Lennie.
Are moral standards in the eye of the beholder? According to one author, “we’ve seriously lost our way”, going on to state, “we are like mean adrift at sea without a compass” (Hulme). In literature as in biology, the mantra of form fits function applies and heightens a reader’s appreciation of a writer’s choice and how they contribute to a work of literature. In Tim O’Brien’s collection of short stories, The Things They Carried, the narrative, the experience of reading and the alternating Vietnam and modern day settings not only shape the author’s world view, but reflect upon his own experiences in the 1960’s and 1970’s war. The short stories within
A physician assistant is a medical practitioner who works under the supervision of a licensed doctor. However the doctor does not have to be present while the physician assistant performs. If a doctor is unavailable and it is an emergency the physician assistant or PAs can talk over the phone with a doctor. Fewer than 100 PAs were practicing in 1970 and about 74,800 physician assistants are employed in the United States now (“Physician”). Physician assistants help the community everyday by helping with illness, and a lot of other health issues. They work every day to help and treat people and they are a big help to doctors. Pas alleviate some stress from the doctors and creates a healthier environment for everyone.
Hospital room 302 is white and clean. It has one window looking out upon the hospital lawn. It is quite and it is not home. This could become the home of a smoker. It is not very friendly or inviting; however, some decision that we make now take away the decisions we get to make in the future. More importantly, hospital room 302 could be filled with a non-smoker who has lung cancer due to decisions they had no control over. The benefits of stopping smoking at any age or extent has the potential to prolong life expectancy, decrease mortality rates, and decrease passive exposure to cigarette smoke.
Imagine going to work every day and loving what you do. Imagine knowing every day that you work you make a difference in someone’s life. That person just might be alive because of you. Would you not feel important? Would you not be proud of yourself? I used to feel like that at work… but not anymore.
When it comes to our health, a good healthcare plan is a very important subject for all individuals. Some even argue that it is a basic right to have one. Bernie Sanders stated, “Healthcare must be recognized as a right, not a privilege. Every man, woman, and child in our country should be able to access the health care they need regardless of their income…” (“Issues: Medicare for All”). However, reality tells us a whole different story. America is one of the most developed countries in the world with some of the best medical care. Yet, how can the people enjoy the benefits when it is almost unaffordable to most. People are afraid to fall sick just because they are afraid of how much it would cost. However, sometimes a doctor or hospital visit is unavoidable. In most cases, it comes at a great price, especially to the middle class and the elderly. Wealthy individuals are likely to reap the benefits of having an expensive healthcare plan, while the rest may suffer from the unimaginable cost of treatments, or even worse, live a risky life without insurance. An effective solution to this problem would be a Universal Healthcare System. This would ensure that all people have equal and affordable health coverage, centralized healthcare records for all individuals which will help easy diagnosis by doctors and reduce the intensive labor costs of medical billing. Moreover, it may boost the economy by freeing business from providing expensive healthcare benefits to workers.
In the play “Medea” by Euripides, the main character, Medea, goes on a murderous rampage. On said rampage, she kills both of her sons, the king of Corinth, and her husband’s fiancée, the princess of Corinth. But how is one person capable of killing all those people in approximately an hour? Lots of anger, obviously, but Medea had to go through a mental process to achieve this so-called “feat”. Naturally, something triggered her, in this case, Jason, her husband, cheating on her.

It is great to be recognized for all the initiatives and I do appreciate the invitation; however, another trophy is not enough incentive to spend the time. Unless, the award winner received support, tools, or resources to better such wellness initiatives, I must decline the invitation.
With NFL Players kneeling everywhere and soldiers feeling unappreciated, our country is in shock. It all started by a player named Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, in 2016. This event persuaded numerous NFL players to continue this process. One by one, players all over the league began to protest to call attention to the issues of "racial inequalities and police brutality". With mixed reviews of this protest, I believe that kneeling during the National Anthem of the United States of America is disrespectful because it is abrasive, selfish, and hurtful. Also, I am not sure that all of those protesting in this manner know the true meaning of our national anthem or the flag that represents our freedom.

Why spend money that is really needed for other things? Why live uncomfortably? Why be trapped in this hole called a home that belongs to another person? Why not live free and peacefully? When a person rents he or she usually throws away money that could be used to purchase something that belongs to them. Money is not easy to come by so why pay out hundreds toward something that is not benefit to the person paying it out. There is no good explanation for making a decision like this. The best option in a situation like this is to buy a house. Buying a house is a better option than renting an apartment.
This video was a beautiful surprise and wonderfully illustrated. John Eldredge is genius for this awesome example in explaining the depths of God’s heart. We have a heart because He has a heart, What a wonderful gift. I feel that he uses the example of “making out” because it describes God’s expression of affection to humankind. John Eldredge describes creation as being a “kiss” from God. A kiss can be considered a beautiful intimate act between two people with a strong attraction. He uses very illustrative examples to express the heart of God. I feel the example of the kiss informs us how intimate we are to become with Christ. Eldredge suggests that the mind was created to protect the heart and gives the example at Prov. 4:23(NIV), where God encourages us, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Your heart gives you the ability to love, dream, be passionate and courageous. This video really helps us to get to know God’s heart so that we can become intimate with Him. This is vital so that we can trust Him and not be afraid of death and nonexistence. Eldredge mentions that in the Bible, it reveals Christ’s goodness and approachability.
As we busily bustle around our lives, a prevalent problem surfaces, disease. The mournful realization when assessing our situation, is that sick people are polluting the world. Diseases spread like wildfire, leaving a wake of destruction in their path. Our inability to defeat disease highlights the problem, and I have the solution...
