When a dog goes chasing after a rabbit, it should stop to smell the white picket fence that it passes, to mark its territory on the fire hydrant, and make friends with the other dog that always sits on the corner. Life is like chasing a rabbit through the neighborhood, and I believe one should take advantage of every opportunity given to stop and enjoy life.
As a freshman art student, I never thought my weird art teacher would make an impact in my life. He walks into the classroom every day a few seconds late and announces “GREETINGS ALL!”and then usually followed by a weird comment about our drawings or just his thought of the day. He is full of personality and opinions, although he never forces us to believe them, he always speaks his thoughts

Although there is still time, the dog runs forward now looking at his surroundings, the world is his, he can smell all the fences, bark at all the dogs, make friends with all the future runners up ahead, and enjoy its life for everything it is given.
My art teacher pauses, “Stop worrying about getting things done and just enjoy what you have in front of you compared to where you where when you started, not when you finish cause you’re not there yet.” I look back down at my drawing and think about how I started with a white piece of paper and now I have every inch of the paper covered with pencil marks and eraser scraps, it is a starting point not the finish. I remember how others have dropped this class, but I decided to stick with it and push myself.
A few weeks later I had fixed my drawing and I have to admit it was looking pretty great. As my art teachers comes into the room with his usual “GREETINGS ALL!” he continues “Now I don’t want to say any names, but Mackenzie over here is almost to a finish point with her drawing as are many of you so keep an eye out for your next project.” I believe that the journey one takes is more important than any destination one is trying to
In 2000, 68 million dogs were owned in the United States. In 2017, a total of around 89.7 million dogs in the United States alone, lived in a household. As the years past more and more people are adopting dogs. Some of those owners are new to having a pet and should learn how to take care of them.
The more I observe, the more I understand who I am. I come from a small town in a very cold part of the world, where very few exciting events occur. This means, I have to work extra hard to become an artist. I remember having my neighbor say, “You aren’t an artist until I buy a painting from you,” and she did. I never wanted the money, but I did enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that what I create makes others happy. So many people in town encourage me and support me with my dreams, and all I do in return is help them back in return. When people need a little sunshine on gray, winter days, I am there to lend them my happiness. That is why I am able to succeed. When failure strikes his wrath upon me, I learn from the mistakes rather be held back –being optimistic allows me to grow much quicker than if I were to be
Introduction: Today I will persuading my audience the benefits of getting a dog as a pet. Dogs can offer companionship, protection and even improve your health. Sixty eight percent of U.S households own a pet according to the 2017-2018 National Pet Owners Survey calculated by American Pet Products Association (APPA), and majority of the pets owned are dogs, weighing in at sixty percent. Dogs are domesticated animals that consist of various breeds such as Yorkie Terriers, German shepherds and more. There are over three hundred breeds according to the World Canine organization. This organization is the largest registry of certified dog breeds. This canine organization recognizes three hundred and thirty nine breeds of dogs which are classified into ten groups based on the dog’s function or size. There are various unique breeds that can fit into one’s specific lifestyle, giving no excuse not to have a dog to compliment ones personality.
Specific Purpose: To persuade my students to volunteer and train a dog for 4 Paws University
As the only child, of my mother, I often faced the problem of not having someone to play with forcing more creativity. I often did various arts and crafts projects, but I found that I enjoyed drawing the most. With each drawing I become completely engrossed partially because it is a self-taught skill that requires focus, but also because I must be patient with myself as I work towards what I envision and learn new techniques. The Art of Drawing is a skill that I can continuously develop and perfect. The patience that my artwork teaches goes beyond the work itself. It demonstrates the importance of accepting my weaknesses and working towards bettering them. I am able to properly release the struggles I encounter and not be consumed because of my artwork. Creating my drawings is more than expression, but also self-discovery because I can be more honest with myself, embracing who I am and what I feel. However, from time to time I do encounter “artist block” and the exhibitions held at the museum of fine arts at Florida State University could provide inspiration much like my environment here at Spelman
It was my freshman year of high school when I took Drawing A; I quickly learned that I had a skill that I had previously ignored and began embracing it. Sophomore year, though, was when I truly started using my art. It was during this year that I received a 4 on my AP-Studio Art portfolio, and won four awards at Scholastic Art and Writing in photography. Art gave me a feeling of accomplishment that I didn’t usually get in the rest of my academics, so I always tried my
The pencil liberates my stresses and sorrows. Bare and unimpeded, my mind is able to isolate itself from anything that was happening in my life. At my art table, which is merely an escape from reality, my curiosity is able to wander. Within this room, five blank canvas's look in on me as I become a mold of my imagination. A step inside my world develops into a sea of color and exploration. The vibrancy of the walls resonates throughout. Over the years, my room has served as my oasis. It’s my escape from monotonous and mundane routines. It’s my exploration of another side of me. I observe such works of art almost as much as I create. Taking notice of my classmates’ innovations and inspired by their creativity, my paintbrush begins to alleviate stress. I strive to produce pieces others will appreciate, but often find myself to be the true admirer. My pride, in this world, is driven simply by my own curiosity to express myself. I credit this side of me as the “passion” that supplements my insane drive for success. This passion has sparked critical thinking in me as well as how I see failure. Life is a blank canvas and you can truly draw whatever you want, and if you fail, you start over and don’t make that same mistake again! Hard work takes ideas quite far, but true success is derived from ingenuity and the generation of
I’m sitting at my computer, ignoring pages of economics homework and mugs of cold tea now strewn about my desk, as I search for a direction to go with my life. Such was was my predicament several months ago. It’s undeniable that I’m an artist, hard and true, for a pencil found its way into my hand as a child, and no desire of mine nor of the universe ever tempted it to pry away. Throughout my earliest years and memories, I maneuvered with graphite, paint, and crayon every adventure that I ever dreamt of pursuing. Oh, I was a resilient child, as well, who refused to take part in any art class at school or as an extracurricular for an abundance of years, as I was invariably convinced that I could learn all I wished on my own accord! Consequently,
Then, sometimes you have to go for miles to be first it is just for fun.there are a lot of dogs that are sad when you they can’t go no farther.some time the people are sad to but they want to win the
Other than serious behavioral problems, such as aggression, the reason most dogs wind up in shelters is because their owners find out that they have just chosen the wrong dog for the way they live. Dogs have evolved with humans over the course of thousands, maybe tens of thousands of years, and as they shared our homes and lives, they have been bred to fill specific roles.
We will try to make a photograph and it will not be a masterpiece – and often the harder we try the more it seems we are likely to fail. But those failures are the best teachers we can have. A success will only confirm we could do what we thought we are capable of.
Once in high school, I put my all into my art. I started exploring different styles and types of art, like design. I applied my skills everywhere: from designing the yearbook for eight years straight to photographing for the Admissions team. I toyed with mediums like acrylic and watercolor as I deviated from the paper I used to use. As time passed, art became who I am: it was what I used to think and feel about the world and I’m compelled to create for
In my life I have failed at many things, but I have always been able to recover. When I was in the sixth grade I had convinced myself that I was the most accomplished artist in my entire school; I thought I could challenge an eighth grader in the school’s bi-annual art competition
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Denver City Council, today I would like to talk to you about the city of Denver enforcing a dangerous dog law instead of breed specific legislation, because the enforcement of breed specific legislation is not the solution to dangerous dogs in the community. I plan on showing how Denver could change their law to make a difference to the quality of dogs living in this great city.
healthy dog is a happy dog, and we all want our pets to be as happy as possible. But do you know what you can do to help your dog be (and stay) in tip-top condition from puppyhood right through to his senior years? Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said “a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. The journey to a healthier pet, however, begins with eight simple steps. STEP 1: THE RIGHT DIET The old health campaign slogan that “you are what you eat” applies just as
