Many celebrities are trying to bring her justice and find a way for her to be released “The system has failed. It’s heartbreaking to see a young girl sex trafficked then when she has the courage to fight back is jailed for life! We have to do better & do what’s right. 1) Alexander claims that “we have not ended racial caste in America; we have merely redesigned it” (2). To what extent do you agree with this claim?
I agree with his claim, because he is right, racial caste has not ended its just been altered with. One of the greatest election in history was electing a black man to become president, which back in the past would have never happened. “Indeed, if Barack Obama had been elected president back then, I would have argued that his election marked the nation’s triumph over racial caste—the final nail in the coffin of Jim Crow” (Alexander 2). Something that did stay the same, was the racist comments that were directed to former president Barack Obama and people still felt that a black man could not and should not run the country. When the United States finally got their first black president many African Americans were so excited and they celebrated, but this did not stop the violence towards them.
