Many heroes exists in todays world. Some are just fictional but the real ones are the ones worth mentioning. A true hero is a person who is willing to sacrifice everything for the well being of others. they're giving personalities cause them to give everything they can to help others. They are constantly in a race to fight for something beneficial to all.

Most people dream to be a hero, a hero that is admired, courageous, noble, and a role model to everyone because of what they have achieved. Everyone’s point of view of being a hero is different, some might state that being a hero means solving crimes and wears capes like all superhero in movies. The others might say that a hero is a soldier that fights for their country. Peter Brownrigg, a fourteen-year-old Cumberland farm boy is a hero that does not wear a cape. Peter’s acts of determination and outstanding bravery pushes him to defeat Sir Philip Morton and his followers in their objective to assassinate the queen of England in the story Cue for Treason by Geoffrey Trease.

To begin with, Peter proves he is a hero by showing bravery during the novel. An example is when, following the theft of his play script, Peter sneaks into the home of the Yellow Man to take back the script that is rightfully his. The hero is someone who saves us from something bad. In The Outsiders By S.E Hinton the heros are Dally,Johnny,and Ponyboy. What happened in the book was in the beginning of the book Johnny was Dallyś favorite because Johnny was very nice and also johnny had died a hero because he saved kids from a burning church. Dally showed his anger about johnny dieng check for spelling and Ponyboy was sad but he didn't want to show his anger. At the end Dally dies because he robbed a store and the cops were looking and chasing after him but instead Dally decided to die and kill himself. Johnny,Dally,and Ponyboys are heroes because they did their best to save people.

Another example of a hero is when Captain Sully was on the plane that had lost the engine he had to make a choice. Sully could have flown all the way back to the airport or landed in the Hudson River. Sully decided to land in the Hudson River and when he did everyone landed safely. Sully would be defined as a hero because he did risk himself to save every single person on the plane. Sully risked his life by staying on the plane and landing it safely instead of jumping out of one of the exits. Sully did not have to land in The Hudson River but he did, on his own (Sully). In the Boat Lift act one boat had called many other boats to help transport people to a safe place where they could stay. The one boat that had called all the other boats to come help is a hero. The boat that called the others is a hero because they risked their boat and their lives to help the people get to a safe place. Also The first boat was not asked to do anything and they still did the act (Boat Lift). Many people can be heroes if they take a risk on their own to help others, but there are always people that are not

Heroes are selfless and put others before themselves in dangerous situations. Such as on 9/11, when a call was given out for boats to come rescue people off the island of Manhattan, where the terror attacks happened, as pictured in “Boatlift” Vincent Ardillo after hearing the news told his wife, “I gotta do something.” This represents heroism because Ardillo is not thinking of how he will be impacted, but rather of the people who need help, as many other people with access to a boat did as well. Also, Ardillo could have stayed home and been safe, but chose to sacrifice his well being and comfort for others. Another hero would be Clara Barton, the founder of the Red Cross, as Barton declared in a Civil War speech “I may be compelled to face danger, but never fear it, and while our soldiers can stand and fight, I can stand and feed and nurse them.” Barton distinguishes she could be hurt while helping the soldiers, however she does not dwell on the fact, deciding instead to carry on and make a difference despite the threat to health. This is heroic because Barton is putting others who cannot care for themselves and acknowledges she could be hurt, but does not let that get in the way of her reaching her goals. To sum up, heroes are everyday people who go out of their way to help others in need without the thought of payment.

Heroes are people that risk their own life to save others or themselves from an attacker. Connie in the short story, “Where are You Going, Where Have You Been?’, has a family and one day she was home alone and a guy named Arnold shows up and starts talking to her about her family and she becomes freaked out and scared by it. Arnold’s friends show up and won’t leave her sight until she leaves with him at the end. Connie calmly said to Arnold’s friends “No, I have better things to do (Oats 7) so nothing would turn out worse than it already was. Connie noticed that something was up with Arnold’s friends showing up at her house because they knew what her parents were doing and also knew where they were at as well.

Peter portrays a heroic character in the novel Cue for Treason with many interesting qualities and ideas. He is a heroic man. This is because Peter is intelligent, perseverant and valiant. To begin, Peter is heroic because his of intelligence shown throughout the novel. For example, Cue for Treason’s protagonist Peter, thought of an ingenious escape plan from his captors with very few materials to use.

Hero, the definition of Hero, has been by pondered by many individuals. Hero is not word of mouth but a word of action characterized by spontaneous acts of benevolence to society, as well as leaving a mass footprint of succession that can be used as aide for the future. A famous entrepreneur, named Andrew Carnegie is a true definition of a hero, existing in an era of massive industrialization, where skyscrapers held their heights, and steam engines ignited. In fact Andrew Carnegie had indeed impacted the industrialized world with his new adoption of the Bessemer process creating his billion dollar steel empire. Andrew Carnegie can be defined as a hero because of struggles in his early life, philanthropy and his impact on the world .

When we hear the word 'hero,' more than one idea comes to mind. Not only do we think of people that we look up to in our world, but we also think of heroes in the fictional world. To be a hero can mean a variety of different things. Leaders, singers, and even parents can be a hero that someone looks up too. But in the fictional world, a hero is someone who has learned from his or hers journey to come out a changed person. Some characters complete the journey, while others do not quite make it to the end. In The Odyssey, Odysseus takes more than one leap of faith on his journey to become a hero by learning from his mistakes, making personal sacrifices, and becoming a better man.

The topic of heroism comes up a lot in the two articles that I read, but in each article, the authors explain this idea in two totally different ways. The first article, “What Makes A Hero?”, talks about people who are/aren’t heroes and explains why they deserve that title. It also talks about a man who saved his brother’s life since he donated his kidney to help him survive. To me, I believe that the man should be considered a hero since he saved his brother's life and risked his own life in the process. Just like Odysseus, the man was faced with many handicaps which he had to overcome during his brother’s surgery and as a result, although he lost a kidney in the process, he successfully cured his brother and helped him survive. Some individuals living in poverty with a determination to succeed work hard all of their lives to become what everybody doubted they could. Despite of their financial problems, drug and crime surroundings, or difficulties in the language skills, their desire to triumph fuels their persistence. Those who make it to success are the few living examples of the purest form of hero anyone can be. They are not only their own heroes but also the heroes of the poor children who dream of becoming like them someday.

Ponyboy is a hero because he is courageous and not afraid to rescue and help people in their times of need. One main reason why Ponyboy is a hero is that when school children are stuck in a fire Ponyboy runs in to rescue them. Ponyboy yells to the teacher, “I’ll get them, don’t worry… I’ll get them,” and immediately rushes into the burning building to rescue the children. This quote shows the true nature of Ponyboy because he is concerned for a group of children trapped in a burning church. He was so worried that he goes in to the burning church with disregard for his safety and saves the kids. What he did when the church was burning meats the definition of a hero perfectly, he was courageous, saved people who needed his help, and was even called a hero by the newspaper. Another way that Ponyboy is a hero is that when Randy, a soc comes over and talks to Ponyboy, Ponyboy listens and talks to Randy about Randy’s problems. Randy then goes on to say, “Thanks kid.” This is a small gesture of kindness shown by Ponyboy, yet it is an act of heroism too. People do not have to save the world to be a hero, a small act of kindness still can take a courageous gesture like overcoming the differences between two people like Ponyboy and Randy did. Heroism in its own simple but pleasant way being kind to others is also heroic. Ponyboy is a hero because no mater how big or small

Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they’re going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else’s. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy’s leg. She was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy’s leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests.
