Philadelphia Eagles Offense

As time ticked away in the fourth quarter, the Denver Broncos started working on running the clock down. They ran the ball as much as they could then would punt the ball down the field and count on the Broncos defense to keep Cam Newton from getting the Panther offense going. And it worked. Von Miller, who was so big for Denver’s defense in the first half, caused Newton to fumble and the Broncos recovered the ball on the four yard line.

To begin the game, the Eagles received the ball first and it was a perfect opening drive for Wentz and the offense. It was the flea flicker. Eagles quarterback Nick Foles handed the ball off to Clement who took a couple of steps and then pitched it back to Foles who threw a 41-yard scoring strike to Smith.

Besides two long offensive plays, the defense shut down the offense, allowing only three touchdowns. One of those came from former Mountaineer quarterback Geno Smith to Shelton Gibson.

First, the were first founded in 1924 as the “Frankford Yellowjackets.” Bert Bell is the founder of the Frankford Yellowjackets he invested his own money into this team. After seven years of the team competing in AFL football the team went bankrupt in 1931. The city of Philadelphia was loving the football thing, and they demanded a team. A group led by Bert Bell founded the Philadelphia Eagles. They were one of the first teams in the NFL, and the commissioner of the NFL was Bert Bell. In last year’s NFL Draft, the Eagles used their first two picks to address the defensive side of the football. With their first round selection, they took defensive end Derek Barnett, who carved out his role and racked up five sacks. In the second round, the Eagles drafted cornerback Sidney Jones, who slid in the draft due to a torn Achilles but played in the regular season finale against the Dallas Cowboys.

The 11-play,65-yard drive ended with a 2-yard touchdown run by, Chapman. The point after kick by,Nathan Liesen was good, making this a,20-7 game, with 43.6 left in the half.

The Eagles defense did not put up much of a fight in the game; now they have lost their last two games, They allowed over 500 yards of total offense, almost three hundred of which came on the ground. The Bucs, have won two straight and have pulled to .500. for the first time since they beat New Orleans in week two.

With the Dallas Cowboys trailing 23-17 with little time left in the 4th quarter, Longley found an open Pearson for a 50 yard touchdown pass; therefore Dallas won 24-23. This dramatic win with the odds stacked against the Cowboys has yet been beaten as the greatest moment in the Thanksgiving day series.

The Eagles offensse would soar again on a 13-yard run right up the gut of the Bison defense, by Callahan. The eight play,sixty-two-yard drive ended on a 35-yard Callahan pass to Lutz. The point after kick from Reed up the lead to 28-, with 7:35 left in the one-side action packed first half.

Is there really much to say about the Patriots offense? They are the leaders in offensive yards and the second highest scoring offense of the year (ESPN). They are led by the transcendent quarterback Tom Brady and exemplary offensive mind Bill Belichick. On the other side, the Eagles are led by Nick Foles and Doug Pederson. The Eagles are third in passing yards, fourth in rushing yards, and fourth in points in the postseason (ESPN).
