The Philadelphia Eagles continued the narrative of first half troubles and second half triumphs during their week two match-up gashing the Indianapolis Colts with a 30-27 win. Eagles' Quarterback Nick Foles and his offense were able to quickly move down the field after a Colts' three-and-out but the drive only netted a field goal. The red-zone issues would be a continued problem for the Eagles through the first half as they went zero for two on possessions inside the 20 yard line. The absence of Evan Mathis, Lane Johnson and Lane Johnson's replacement, Matt Tobin were displayed in the lack of push that the Eagles offensive line generated in the early stages of the game. Out of the unbalanced sets the Colts exploited the Eagles aggressiveness with an array of counter trap plays that opened running lanes off the tackles. The game plan for the rushing attack was extremely effective as both Richardson and Bradshaw gained 70 yards on the ground. With the running game working well, the play action passes on the goal line were perfectly set up for Andrew Luck as he found both Ahmad Bradshaw and Jack Doyle on short touchdown throws on the goal line. Indianapolis leaned on their backs and offense line, but Andrew Luck found success in the red-zone. Luck also gained 172 passing yards with him and T.Y Hilton connecting multiple times for first downs. Hilton finished the game with 65 yard receiving on six receptions. The Eagles encountered problems getting in rhythm with their wide receivers and giving LeSean McCoy running room but they took advantage on the mismatches with the Colts' Linebackers. From the onset of the game, Darren Sproles again proved too quick for linebacker help as he broke a 57 yard catch on a running back choice route. With the game tied, Malcolm Jenkins made his first big play of the game as T.Y. Hilton fell during his route, Jenkins would step in front of the pass for his first interception as an Eagle. The Colts' 27-20 lead would fall thanks to the contributions from Eagles' running back Darren Sproles and a questionable horse collar penalty. Sproles was a reliable receiver in the passing game especially in screen game. His 152 yards receiving and 21.7 yards per catch number was a steadying presence for Nick Foles who did struggle at points during the game. The running back helped Foles to 331 passing yards and a touchdown while also being a major factor in the running game accumulating 26 rushing yards on four carries and a touchdown. Subsequent to an Indianapolis punt, Philadelphia moved down the field with help from Zach Ertz, LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles.
