The photo I chose was The Beatles abbey road album cover. This photo is iconic because it is the album cover photo for the last album they ever produced in 1969. I also like the photo because the story behind it and how it was taken. The photographer that took the photo is named lain Macmillan. He is a Scottish photographer that moved to England to become a professional photographer. He was only given 10 minutes to take the photo while he was on a step ladder and police held up the traffic behind them. It was one of the last albums the Beatles put out before they split up and abbey road is now a famous road in the UK. Everyone knows the picture on the album.
Paul McCartney once said, “We would say, ‘Try it! Just try it for us. If it sounds crappy, OK, we’ll lose it. But it might just sound good.’ We were always pushing ahead: Louder, further, longer, more different” (“All About Jazz”). The Beatles had complete access to Abbey Road studios free of charge, spending hours upon hours experimenting and writing music. They used the studio as an instrument in itself. They were the first band to push musical and technological boundaries. They took advantage of accidental occurrences in the recording process. You can see this in
This '65 Beatles album, with U.S. advanced sales of $1 million, was transitional, featuring film songs and other recordings, more introspective lyrics, and the influence of Dylan and Folk Rock. It is...

The photographer I chose for my research paper is Mathew Brady. I chose him because he was a famed civil war photographer. And I believe his work is important to US history.
The day is June 14, 1964 and outside the Southern Cross Hotel in Melbourne are three hundred policeman and one hundred soldiers trying to hold back some ten thousand screaming, hysterical fans in what can only be called Beatlemania. The Beatles were a pop music group who gained such popularity that they caused mass hysteria wherever they went. John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, and Paul McCartney were the four members of the Beatles who worked together between the years of 1962 and 1970. Within those eight years, the Beatles produced many albums, each evolving from the last due to changes and experimentation with recording technology. The albums Please, Please Me and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band are the two albums that
There are two reasons I chose this photograph depicting the momentous event of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. One reason is the March on Washington was considered as one of the most significant events in the history of our country. Held at the nation’s capital, it was the first televised march to have extensive coverage. Ever since I read about the march, I always desired to be a part of the movement, as it was pivotal to the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and would later provide momentum for the approval of the Voting Rights Act. Marching side by side with civil rights leaders and people
The Beatles were one of the most influential music groups of the rock era. They were able to conquer and influence pop culture with their music. Initially they affected the post-war baby boom generation of Britain and the W.S. during the 1960s, and later the request of the world. Certainly they were the most successful group, with global sales exceeding 1.3 billion albums. During the sixties, The Beatles using revolutionary ideas in their music inspired a generation of young adults across the globe to look at life from their perspective.
Abbey Road is heralded as one of the greatest rock ‘n roll albums ever. It grinds with hard rock and sways with soft guitar. The variety of the tracks provides something for everyone. It was created in 1969 at the famous Abbey Road studios. George Martin and Geoff Emerick, who had produced many other Beatles’ albums, contributed to this work. This album is one of the more famous albums of the Beatles, who are one of the most popular bands ever. Almost every piece of this album, even the cover, is art works in themselves.
"Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," recorded in 1967, is to date the number one Rock and Roll album ever recorded. Sgt. Pepper's is considered to be the first concept album. There are many things that brought about the creation of The Beatles most influential album. Before The Beatles began the recording process of Sgt. Pepper's they had retired from touring. This gave the group ample time to experiment with different instruments, recording techniques and drugs. The album cover also sparked a revolution in itself. Many bands took notice of the creative elements of Sgt. Pepper's and learned from them.
There is an extreme depth of field created by Davis within the photograph that washes everything past the foreground into a blurred ambiguity. The farther back one looks into the space created by the image, the more difficult it becomes to determine what is being observed. The foreground focus becomes the metaphorical equivalent of the relative clarity of recent memories, just as the blurred background is equated with the more distant past. This depth of field creates a sensation of time as the background of the image recesses and eventually degrades beyond readability. The image evokes an ephemeral quality—the depth of field combined with the reflective surfaces causes the image to feel insubstantial. The temporary moment that was captured on film is a remnant of a fleeting memory.
Album covers are an important aspect in the music culture and industry. Many album covers vary, depending on the artist itself and music genres. However, all album covers are meticulously designed to represent an artist’s vision and work from their music. Musicians will choose an album artwork that represents them and their music. BADLANDS by Halsey and True Colors by Zedd are respectable examples of artists who choose their covers based on their inspirations. These two album covers are well thought of and beautifully created with depth and substance. Music is art, and so are album covers.
This photo is important especially within the context of the Black Lives Matter and Take a Knee movements that are occurring.

Before researching, I already knew a lot about the Beatles. I knew that the band was made up of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They started the famous "British Invasion" of the 1960's on American pop/rock music, and they started a craze that
