Body mechanics has always been a source of great interest to me from a very young age. I was homeschooled from my elementary years through high-school, and my favorite subjects were always anatomy and health sciences. I disticnly remeber a antomy coloring book I had during 4th grade. I always wanted to read and color the muscle sections only.
Even in my spare I would find myself doing research on how the human body works, and watching physical therapy videos. While watching these videos I would store away this information, and when one of my family members would complain about a pain I jump at the oppertunity to evaluate and explain why they may be having such a problem. I even go so far as to suggest different excercises that may improve the problem area.
Though I always had an intrest in the human body it was not until later that I decided to go to school for Physical Therapy Assistant. For many

That is when we settled on Physical Therapy Assistant, the amount of school was just right and the field fit my personality and my need to help and educate people. Not too long after this revelation a good friend opened her own physcial therapy office and I got to shadow there for a little bit. It helped me get a feel of the enviroemtn and what would be needed from me. I now work as a tech at one of the Agape Physical Therapy clinics, and it has been one of the most fulfilling jobs I have ever had. Though there is the mundane work such as laundry and cleaning I know my hard work is appriciated. I keep eberything running smoothly and I help out the PTA and the PT when they are back logged with patients. The PT and the PTA always make sure I understand the excersices I am doing and why they are beneficial for this certain patient. If working as tech is fulfilling, I can only imagine how much more so it will be when I get my degree as a
My mother is a physical therapist who practices in a hospital, a setting I am familiar with, but I have also witnessed physical therapists in private practice, skilled facilities, and home care. I discovered that physical therapy is an open-ended profession and there is so much that can be done in the field. Being able to see physical therapy applied to different age groups with different needs in different communities has proven to be an invaluable experience. I knew that the career possibilities were
Along with my fascination of the body I have always found myself trying to care for others. As a physical therapy assistant I will be able to tie many of my passions into one career field and can make patients’ lives better. My experience in physical therapy has provided me with
The day I attended physical therapy for a broken arm was the day I wanted to get into physical therapy. It taught me techniques to help me regain control of something that I have lost temporary of like an arm or leg. That day when I attended physical therapy was the day my life changed and only for the better, I hope. This is a career which I want to pursue and become part of. To start my career I would like to become a physical therapist assistant to learn the fundamentals and then later, move to become a physical therapist, and maybe have someone assist me. But to become a physical therapist assistant or PTA one must complete a program and have excellent grades to achieve this goal. The physical therapy assistant is a graduate of a
Throughout this course, my mind was opened to several healthcare careers which I was unaware of before. For the careers that I did know about, this course still did a great job at informing me of the professions on a deeper level. After reviewing the lectures and careers, I feel strongly about pursuing a career in Occupational Therapy. More specifically, I want to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant. This was a career that I had in mind when I began the course and I have been interested in it for about two years now. Occupational Therapy Assistants need to be sociable, compassionate, flexible, and enjoy problem solving. I believe I will enjoy this profession because my personality matches with all of these things.
My grades are very important, and I work diligently towards maintaining academic success. I am passionate about learning new information that I can use in real life. I never give up, and if I do not understand something completely, I will seek help and study until I have a proper understanding. I also enjoy learning from the actions of physical therapist assistants. I have completed over 350 hours of observation, and I have learned so much about the profession from the therapists.
Originally, I enrolled in classes at Florida State College of Jacksonville to work on my Associates degree and apply for the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. At one point, I even considered cosmetology. After taking a few classes, I have realized that a career better suited for me and my interests would be an Automotive Service Mechanic. I truly believe this is the best career for me because I like helping others, working with my hands, and being able to be on my feet and move around throughout the day. Working and learning at the same time, would be ideal for me.
She said that she thinks people will start to bypass going to the doctor first and go straight to physical therapy. I know that direct access was a big deal, but I didn’t think that many people would bypass going to the doctor at all. After asking more in-depth questions about the career of a physical therapist, I have just become even more interested in what they can do. Being able to help patients and see the progress they make sounds very rewarding to me. The managing aspect of her job does not sound the most interesting right now, but maybe after many years of experience I will feel comfortable with the extra responsibility.
The medical field is expanding ever so rapidly in today’s society. In the field of Physical Therapy one needs to have the understanding of how the human body works and the injuries one body could sustain. I have chosen a career to help others to battle back from life-changing injuries or surgeries. I will take the first step of joining the medical field by obtaining a physical therapist associates degree. I will become a Physical Therapist Assistant.
I am leaning more into being a physical therapist. I want to be able to help people with their injuries and help them push through the pain so they can get better. I want to pursue this career so I can achieve my goal of being able to help people with their injuries and get them feeling like they didn’t have an injury. I will have so much responsibilities of pursuing this career because if they don’t get better then it will be my job on the line. I have to make sure I get them feeling better and they may not like that I push them and it may feel impossible but it won’t be. I will make sure they will get
Everyone feels good about themselves when they help someone accomplish something. I feel overwhelmed with joy when I help people. Becoming a physical therapist assistant (pta) will allow me to feel that kind of happiness. Whereas I want to become a physical therapist assistant so I can help people, a physical therapist assistant is the perfect career for me given that physical therapy will always be needed. This career will allow me to interact with patients and learn about them. I will help patients regain their movement and manage pain whether it was from surgery or a type of illness. The schooling will be tough, but the end will be worth it.
I want to help others, in any way I can. My ticket would take me to a physical therapist degree. I gained an interest in becoming a physical therapist when I started to care more about my physical fitness, and wonder all about muscles and the human bodies full potential. I know I would make an excellent physical therapist. My interest in the human body makes it very easy to learn and drives me to learn as much as I possibly can. When it comes to the human body and learning about how different activates and diets affect it, I can never learn enough. I want to be a physical therapist so I can help others feel healthy.
Since starting school at Tennessee tech, I have worked my tail off and went into my junior year with a 3.95 GPA and ready to do more. I started my journey knowing I want to do physical therapy and knew it was for me for multiple reasons. The first reason is my passion for helping others. This is something that I found myself wanting to do and find pleasure in offering services to others. Since my young age, I have always wanted to put others first and want others to feel better no matter what.
When doing the clinicals we were put in each department and while I was in the physical therapy department I loved it. I loved helping them stretch and exercise. I love helping and I am very interested in the human body. I believe I had the patience needed for this job I just need the skills that I feel your school can provide for me.
Before senior year started I always thought physical therapy would interest me. I have never experienced what it is like to go, but I’ve been with people who had sports accidents. When we were asked where we wanted to intern at I knew that ARI was first on my list. These past few weeks at ARI I have really enjoyed being there with them employees and the clients. I believe coming to ARI coming everyday that it just influences me to want to me a therapist's even more.
The most interesting part of the job to me was that it had such a positive outlook on job growth. Employment of physical therapists is expected to increase 39 percent from 2010 to 2020, much faster than the average for all occupations. Demand for physical therapy services will come, in large part, from the aging baby boomers, who are staying active later in life than previous generations did. I consider this to be perfect timing with my graduation being in the prime of the growth in this occupation.
