Lab Reflection: Light is a very important and interesting subject from how it bends to how it bounces off walls allowing someone to see in the dark. The point of this lab was to discover how light bends. The answer was crucial so that it would be possible to kidnap Donald Trump. Another reason this was needed was so it would be easy to get through the laser security at the white house. Before the lab it was hypothesised that if the light around could bend it would be simple to get through, it was thought that glass would work more effectively. Further on it was tested to see what mediums light bends more in. To find out where light bended more a computer simulation was used. In the simulation light was shone through different mediums (water, air, and glass) and through different types of prisms. Wavelengths and all the different angles (angle of incident, refraction, and reflection) and the speed were recorded and compared. An important fact that was found was that light bends more in denser mediums than it does in mediums of less densities. The reason being the wavelength of the light slows down making it possible for the light to bend. With the part of simulation where the light was shone on to prisms the light would create a rainbow, each colour of the rainbow had different wavelengths and frequencies.
Light reacts to different density in different ways. An example of this act is that when light goes through a medium of a low density to a medium of a high
I give this movie a six out of five-star rating. How it managed to keep me on the edge of my seat the entire time is beyond me; I am still in disbelief that I was fully engaged for the entire two hours and twenty-six minutes. Although I had heard many great things about the novel, the film exceeded all of my expectations. The Natural teaches many valuable lessons about perseverance, determination, commitment, karma, relationships, and staying young at heart.
August 28, 2017, the first day of my fresh and scary journey. My first day as a Colorado Christian University student, English composition online is my first class. Part of me is ready; part of me is ready to throw in the towel. I hadn’t even had a chance to turn a paper in, and the first assignment, a 5-paragraph essay had me thinking “you’re a crazy person for going back to school, it’s been 11 years since you had to write a paper. What are you thinking?” I told myself its 5 weeks (later I would realize actually 6) you can make it 5 weeks! Although I knew writing wouldn’t be my easiest subject, I knew I had to try my hardest. This class was condensed and hard, but effective and informative; I’ve learned so much, felt all sorts of emotions and know I can apply what I’ve learned in classes to come.
For chemistry, I choose a argumentative white board because I had to work with a team to succeed it is all a lab analysis and other lab groups made their own critics toward the presentations.I had to acquire information to solve my problem.I over came this assignment by taking many procedures to accomplish and then argued my evidence to argue with other teams. This also helped improve quality of the work that was expected. If I were to redo this assignment,I would put in more in for information on the
While implementing Primary Health Care models, identical to those in metropolitan areas, in a rural setting is not practical, I feel there is an obvious need to improve primary health care in remote areas. This is due to the significant health gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, in rural and remote areas
While the theme of ENGL 105 with Dr. Rowland is What We Do When We Read, I found the course’s effect on my writing to be the most beneficial result of taking this course. I learned how to formulate and transcribe an argument in an efficient manner. This is not to say that I did not also enjoy learning about various topics relating to the mental phenomena that occur when I read literature.
The Beer-Lambert law is also able to provide a calibration plot that is used to find the concentration of a solution based on the absorbance of that same solution. With this, the purpose of the experiment is to be able to use these tools and knowledge to be able to identify concentration, transmittance, and absorbance of a solution as well as be able to create solutions manually and
Description of Experiment/Investigation Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to be able to see the various ways that light interacts with different surfaces. The lab shows how incident light rays can be absorbed, reflected, and refracted based upon the object with which it comes in contact. Description of the Use of Materials: For this lab, a flashlight was needed to represent a beam of incident light and to test how the beam coming from the flashlight interacted with various materials. In addition, the room had to be dark for optimal results in seeing the incident light. To test the reaction of the light with various objects: a comb, a white piece of paper, a triangular prism, a CD, powder, mirror, wax paper, tissue paper, glass of water,
Your summary was easy to follow and provided the overview I needed to understand the subject and main events. The positive economic incentive used to stimulate improvement failed, as it did not compensate for the gap left when America removed God from education. While most teachers would probably follow the guidelines of their administration and would understand the rational provided, the need to be compensated must have been stronger. I would recommend the school system consider an external review process and instituting feedback directly from the teachers and parents together to an impartial board.
During the research, I discovered that different colors of lights also affected the refraction of an eye and diffraction from pupil.
Our team has taken a decision to use different change levers to persuade each other and take votes for a democratic choice selection in case of any disagreement. What was seemed a disadvantage in the beginning of the simulation, later turned out to be a good learning experience for me at a personal level. After almost eleven months into the MBA program and different group assignments throughout the year, none of my team members had experience of working with one another. This factor has played a role for my fear of having a disadvantage for the simulation and in the end, I was proved wrong and learned the lesson. We had a very diversified group of people from different parts of the World and not with zero experience of working with each other had set a perfect stage for the simulation which was all about managing complexity in a team of highly diversified people with two Indian men, two Chinese women, and a Brazilian man. A quick introduction in combination with pressure to perform under a stiff time frame has settled the initial difficulty to get things going. With the approach of learning from doing and an open mindedness, we started pretty early with the simulation without spending much of time. Although
The more optically dense the medium is the slower light will travel through it, and the less optically dense the medium is the quicker the light will travel through it. A way to measure the optical density of a medium is with the refractive index. A refractive index is the optical density of a medium in number form. For example the refractive index of air is
I will record how each color is affected when each other color is shined upon it.
The purpose of this lab was to observe how light is altered as it goes through a solution containing a visible dye. In doing so, we will understand the relationship between absorbance, concentration and light path length. We first created different concentrations of blue stock solutions through dilution. We made 4 dilutions, which gives us 5 solutions in total. Each diluted cup (A-D) had 20 g of stock solution to start with and then 10, 30, 30, 46 g of distilled water was added respectively.
Question #1: My fourth experience in the hot seat was the same as my third run. I received 85% which is the same as my third run. The only difference is that I did not get any sharps violation. I seem less nervous and I understand the steps and the procedure better than before. I was so happy after my run knowing that I did not get any sharps violation.
Light is made up of different wavelengths (visible light is made up of the rainbow). If a substance could absorb specific wavelengths of light, then each substance will have a unique ‘fingerprint’. This could be proven by forcing light through a substance and seeing the different wavelengths of light that were displayed on the other side. If there are dark lines, that means that wavelength was missing and was absorbed. A second way to prove this would be to test if that same substance would release the wavelength it absorbed. In the candle experiment, the salt should give off a wavelength because of the intensity of the flame. If it is the same as the sodium street lamp, then that proves sodium will absorb and emit a specific wavelength consistently.
