This quotation proves that the way the golf course is designed affects how golf is played. To construct a golf course that makes golf more pleasurable, the owners need to adjust things to make it effortless to play, form a golf course that is intact and enjoyable, and use technology that benefits the course so they can have a wonderful time playing golf.

Golf is a one of a kind sport. No single course is the same as next one. Golf compared to other sports is like a science fair project. Every sport that is played other than golf is a constant variable so to say the field, the court, the track, or so on. With football, soccer, basketball, baseball or almost any other sport you know what to expect before you begin. However, golf on the other hand is an always changing variable within the usual four hour round when played. Golf courses are the most beautiful, enchanting, and awe-inspiring venues in all of sport (Shackelford 184).

Dimples on a golf ball create a thin layer of air that clings to the ball's surface. This allows flowing air to follow the ball's surface a little further around the back side of the ball. Factors such as these heavily impact the path of the ball, but more importantly, the biomechanical influence of the athlete behind it.

“Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening - and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented” (Park”). Arnold Palmer, one of the greatest players in golf, properly summed up this addictive, yet frustrating game we call golf. I fell in love with this tremendous game when I was very young and have not stopped playing the game ever since. My dad introduced me to golf, and has taught me everything I know about the game up to this point in my life. I plan to use everything I learned from my dad to achieve my goal to play golf in college and possibly professionally.

Figure 1 below depicts a snap shot of the compact and physics-ridden entity known as a golf swing. Taken at my home in Olympia, WA, this picture was taken moments before the impact between my driver and the Titleist Pro V1 golf ball. The game of golf is riddled with physics concepts governing everything from the power generated in the swing, to every impact with the ball, to even the motion of the ball in the air and on the ground. Everything is governed by and can be explained by physics concepts. However, this paper will focus on the impact of the clubface and the ball (governed by Newtonian physics) and then its subsequent flight in the air as a projectile. We will look at both the first and second laws that Isaac Newton proposed as well as the resulting equations and concepts that come into effect when the ball is launched. The paper will conclude with a brief aside on the history surrounding the golf ball and its evolution, and subsequently why (in terms of physics) the golf ball embodies a very unique and well-known physical form.

You can have the best golf club with the best golf ball that are high quality, but if you don’t practice, you won’t be able to do much with it. Now that we are done with forces and clothing, let’s talk about what did we learn about forces in golf. We have definitely learned that golf isn’t just about hitting the ball and just hope for the best, golfers also think about force, even if you’re a golfer, you do consider force in one way or another.
