Physics To Calculate The Friction Force Of A Firefighter

Satisfactory Essays

In total the firefighter has two different forces that are acting upon it that are affecting his acceleration. His first force is his weight and the second force is the friction force of the poll. Newton’s first law states “Every object continues in a state of rest or of uniform speed in a straight line unless acted on by a nonzero force” (Hewitt, 52). In this problem the downwards force in a straight line is the fireman’s weight. The force of the friction is going to be equal to the accelerating force of gravity, zero net force.
This would be set up as: (100 x 9.81 = 981N)
