Picture being in a movie theater. The room is dark and elbow to elbow with moviegoers lounging in plush seats. It is chilly, and the air is filled with the delightful aroma of buttery popcorn. All at once the lights turn dim and the previews for upcoming films begin to play on the screen. The first teaser is so funny the entire theater simultaneously erupts into volcanic laughter! What an amazing feeling. I love a good laugh; therefore, I am a huge fan of all types of comedies. It is a must that I watch the newest release! I laugh at each comedy movie for a variety of reasons. The actors may be funny, or it may be the subject matter that I find amusing. I can find the hilarity in any situation. The funniest movies include various kinds of comedy to attract a diverse audience. Comedic categories are all funny but use different tactics to provoke laughter. Throughout the film there is a mixture of comedy and seriousness that could be compared to real life events, allowing the audience to relate but in a lighter disposition. The movie pokes fun at 1930s gangsters, illegal nightclubs, and police corruption. It is Satirically funny because the law is picking sides with criminals. The lead character is an orphan named Quick, who was taken in by the owner of the nightclub, Sugar Ray after he saved him from getting shot over a game of dice.
