Rancho Minerva Middle School (RMMS) is located in the rural area within the Vista Unified School District (VUSD). A major issue occurring at RMMS is corresponding to sixth to eighth grade male students being recipients of ineffective punishments as a result of their disruptive behavior. Students’ disruptive behavior refers to those who engage in altercations, disrupt teachers during instruction time, and become involved in substance use. The ramifications for students with disruptive behaviors are followed by disciplinary approaches such as expulsions, suspensions, Saturday school, and after school detention. Such approach has resulted in students achieving lower academics which can also increase the chances of engaging in risky behavior outside the school. According to RMMS School Accountability Report Card (SARC), in the 2014-2015 school year, RMMS reported 10.4% suspensions which demonstrated to be higher than the previous years. Additional factors that have had an effect on suspension rates are the limited in house services provided to this particular population at RMMS. Though RMMS does not have an appointed mental health provider or personnel to assist with mental health support on site, students are granted the opportunity to be referred to outside providers/therapist for counseling services. However, this has been a major limitation for our

Students should have a “right” to be able
I think students valley view high school that are in athletics should get a drug test, because schools will not allow students that play sports and have drugs in the blood. World War I began in August of 1914 and continued for over a span of four years. For nearly three of those years the United States managed to stay out of the conflict because many Americans believed in the U.S. policy of isolationism and keeping out of foreign or European affairs. However, Germany’s unrestricted submarine warfare and the Zimmerman Note ultimately saw the United States enter in their first world war. Entering into war was not favorable to many Americans who saw neutrality as their best bet during war time. Woodrow Wilson, president at the time, saw a need to get American behind the war effort and to see and end of anti-war efforts. These efforts would ultimately see a drastic change in the previously held American
I took a risk when I decided to apply for College of Southern Nevada High School. Taking classes that counted towards both high school and college credit appealed to me, but I knew that the courses would be demanding. I’ve had setbacks, but I’ve also had triumphs.
In 1980 the Catholic schools were recognized for having their students in uniforms, and they believed it would improve the performance, along with it applying more applicable discipline for their students. Since the Catholic schools recognition for uniforms, some of the public schools since then has taken it upon themselves to apply the same policy with in their own schools. At looking at the schools today, it would be found that over half of them do have a uniform policy in place. Being able to look at the good and the bad with in the students wearing uniforms, it is seeming to most that it is a beneficial policy for them.

In addition, many people object to this idea because they think uniforms violate their freedom of expression. They can’t express their own personal styles and characteristics because of the blandness of the uniforms. It is true that everyone has their own right to express themselves; however, they do not go to school all day and all year long, which means they can express themselves in many other situations. Furthermore, everyone lives in one big community, in which discipline is an utterly essential part. If a puppy doesn’t get trained when he is young, he will grow up a wild dog that urinates wherever he wants and barks at whom he sees. Discipline today will contribute to the success of all students in the future.
Ever wonder what it would look like to have all students wearing the same white polo shirt, black pants, and a district sweater walking in the hallway? This paper will discuss many of the pros to the debate on uniforms in public schools as well as touch on some of the cons on the subject. After weighing the two sides, it will demonstrate how the pros are a more sensible alternative and why schools should require mandatory uniforms for their students.
The fictional character of Cleopatra has captured the imaginations of people the world over. Helen of Troy was said to have had ‘the face that launched a thousand ships.’ Cleopatra was not simply a beautiful and passive face, but indeed commanded navies as well as the heart of the powerful Mark Antony. Looking at these two facts from the play one may see the political brilliance in her affections, but also the dichotomy. Which one of her loves is true, and which is of an illusory nature? There is a constant battle between her passion towards the mighty Roman and her yearning for sovereignty and the glory of Egypt on her own terms. This question certainly embroils the
