I have decided to write this paper over something I noticed throughout the video. I have chosen to talk about the first video we watched in class. Honestly, I did not think I was going to enjoy the video, but I actually did. I think it was because the video touched on veterans, and I come from a family that has many veterans within many generations. I also enjoyed it because it gave me an insight to the life that people live because they wanted to fight for everyone in their family and in mine. With that being said, I could never thank them enough for what they do for all of us.
To me, pilgrimage has always been thought of a journey someone takes. The actual definition of a pilgrimage, according to dictionary.com, is a journey, especially a long one, made to some sacred place as an act of religious devotion. I never realized that it dealt with a religious act behind it. The video backed up that definition with the documentary and interviews from the people who were apart of the pilgrimage. I think the interviews help the video because they helped the audience to grasp an understanding of what those veterans went through.
One of my favorite parts of the video over the pilgrimage was seeing every veteran coming out of their shells, and remembering how important their life is. There were many people who wanted to give

I went through a grieving stage after my mom’s diagnosis, and I saw people going through the similar stages in life. I was able to see how they dealt with the pain and how they were able to conquer their pain they were going through. I saw people get through it the same way I did, acceptance, family love and support, and time. To some people, those things mean nothing, but to me, they meant everything. I really enjoyed the video because of those reasons. It was nice to know that they too, were able to get through their whatever they needed with a new outlook on
This video was very surprising, instructive, informative, depressing and occasionally infuriating. I have always known that there were a lot of factors that influence ones health, but I had never really expected it to be this disturbing reality. The video presents a lot of surprising information with any luck individuals will ask themselves serious questions like I did. Optimistically, after seen the video people can account to the things that need to be addressed in order to eliminate this factors and not be eager to judge a set of group of individuals.
This article really made me feel even more grateful to those who fight for this country.
This book gave me more respect for veterans. It proved to me how hard it really is. It showed me all the hardships of being in the military. It helped me to see that war is not a game. Veterans risk everything for us.
I found the video Iraq War Veteran Wages a Private War against PTSD and Alcoholism to be very relatable. I believe I have mentioned before that my brother in law served in the Marines and suffers from PTSD along with several psychical injuries he sustained in Iraq. I sympathized with Tom and his wife because much of what they have endured is similar to what my brother in law and sister has endured. My brother in law’s war still continued even after he was discharged from the marines; he was copying with the loss of his friends, he was not receiving the help he needed through the VA, one of his closest friends committed suicide, and his best friend was blown up by an I.E.D and sustained life threatening injuries. So even though my brother
I think people are drawn to see this video because they want to hear Danny and Annie’s heartfelt love story and to hear for themselves why it’s such a beautiful is and hear-warming story. I think it is important for people to share their stories because it can help people to learn about what is happening around the around the world and inform others about the issues they dealt with and how they overcame that issue. By people sharing their stories with others it can help those who are going through that same situation. As well as Learn on how to cope with the issue and know they are not alone. Sharing their stories don’t always need to be about a problems they could be tragic, heart-warming, and joyful story. The point is that sharing a story with people can make a person think and remember they are
Not many people would withstand having to go off to war knowing their life was on the line. There is much respect and gratitude inclined towards those who did and sacrificed everything they had. Our cordially veterans - the ones who fought and endured the bestial wars, the ones who knew they could fall at any moment, the ones who, despite the horror and fear
Some ways we can honor are veterans are what i am writing about today. It is really important we honor them because they have been through a lot to protect us. When i say that i mean mentally and physically. If you watched the video then you would see that millions of people died. That was probably very hard to watch. And they have to go through a lot of training. So one thing you could do is make a card. If you know a vet or have a friend who knows one this would be something very nice to do.
It is important to remember how much of daily life is affected by the work of veterans. Walking on streets, going to school, eating at restaurants, and hanging out with friends all depend on the service of veterans. They may not receive the proper amount of recognition from the younger generations, but their work is appreciated. In actuality, they gained vital information that can be shared with the future generations. They have gained respect and honor for their duty for our
For Video Reflection Paper Two, I decieded to watch and write about “Paradise Bent”. “Paradise Bent” follows Heather Croall learning about the Fa’afaine’s of Somoa everyday life, past, and place in their culture. Fa’afaine are Somoan boys who are brought up as girls, and act as girls in everyday Samoan life.
The men and women who helped shape the face of this country through their honor, legacy, and patriotism are those we call veterans. They are our dads, moms, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters; they are our family. Yet, we constantly overlook their desire and passion for this country. The gratitude that they deserve is not shown towards them, as it should be. I thank all veterans for their
I experienced several different emotions while watching this video. It made me laugh, cry and ponder the meaning of life. I can relate to Mitch’s character of being extremely busy. I am a wife, mother, nurse and student all in one. I have to balance work, school and a career all at the same time. Some days I am so tired, that I don’t get out of bed. This makes me feel as if I have failed my family. My family is very supportive and understanding, so I know that this is not true. This video reminded me that I need to slow down and not take life for granted.
I liked it the video it was very culture and unique it wasn't just any other video had a special message sent into the war about baby babies. The video had love, caring And appreciating life. I really enjoyed the guy died he died basketball team have already learned at a human be special in every kind of way everybody's different. About their culture and our baby was from a different background. Baby has their own personality and have personal connection with their parents. I feel like the video was important to watch because baby are futures.
What exactly is a pilgrimage? A pilgrimage is a journey that people take for many reasons. Most people go on a pilgrimage to form a stronger connection with God, they ask for healing and forgiveness and follow him in his footsteps while visiting sacred places. On this journey people benefit from their connection with God in ways that are too difficult to explain but in the end they find the purpose of it all and the answers that they had asked themselves in the beginning were answered.
The pilgrimage is indeed an amazing phenomenon, which brings people together at a common goal, which is believed to be the essence or starting point of life and the ‘door’ to the afterlife. As we will discover, pilgrimages require great sacrifice, both financially and physically. Pilgrimages may give the impression of an act that is traditional and not ‘fit’ for our modern world. However, one who has not walked the pilgrimage may never see the insight that the pilgrims themselves see. One fact is certain and striking. The numbers of pilgrims at the world’s major shrines are still increasing.
Pilgrimage is to travel for your faith, not because you have, but you want to. Many people do many things to show pilgrimage in their own way. Every year Jesus’ parents would go to Feast of the Passover for their faith. When I first moved here during Christmas my family and I went to St. Paul's Cathedral just to see what is was like. Last Easter we went to a little church that was kind of far away, but it was a nice mass. During school time youth ministry will hold events like the youth rally to show our faith in many ways. Participating in pilgrimage is a great way to get around and show your faith while doing
