When speaking of “Pit Bulls” it relates to usually three breeds of dogs: American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and American Pit Bull Terriers.("Breed History") These three breed of “Pit Bulls” are all organized into a group of vicious animals because of the history attached to them. The American Pit bull terriers are being wrongfully mistaken for the “American Bully” breeds. These dogs are ones that are specifically bred for the purpose of protection and fighting. Every day in the United States, there are pit bulls be banned, and euthanized. Dog Shelters are overfilled with pit bulls. There are approximately 937 cities in the united states that has some sort of a Breed Restriction legislation. To me this is absurd! People are getting these dogs and are training them to fight. It 's so wrong. Pit bulls are so discriminated against now because how people are training these dogs to fight. Every time I hear about a dog fight or seeing a pit bull chained up makes me really upset. I 'm tired of it. How would those people feel if they were treated like that? I personally love Pit bulls, but some people don 't. I personally own a brindle pit bull named Boosie. I always say how a dog turns out depends on their owner. I had my dog ever since he was a puppy, and I raised him very well. He 's so sweet and loving. I don 't see how people would want to ban pit bulls?

Shelters put down pit bulls every day, thousands of them, because the media has deemed them vicious. Shelters believe that no one would want such a monster, so why should they keep them when that space could be used for a better dog? Animal violence in general is unacceptable, and we should not blame any animal more than another for protecting themselves.

Training your dog is the most important part of canine companionship. A happy dog is one who has structure and boundaries. Dogs are pack animals, and as such, they need guidance in the behavior that you expect from them. If you don't follow through in this leadership role, then the dog will naturally feel as if it is his place to do so. A dog that understands that you are the leader will naturally be easier to train.

Dogs seem to be one of the most common and beloved pets in our society. Many even consider their dog to be a family member. One thing that is especially great about dogs is that there are many different breeds of dogs out there that have different characteristics, and traits. Which gives people the option to choose the type of dog that is right for them, but one breed in particular has been banned in various places, and discriminated against that breed being pit bulls. Breed specific legislation targets pit bulls based on misconceptions, appearance, and poor knowledge about the breed. Breed Specific Legislation and discrimination in general are not justifiable against pit bulls.

Be the voice for the voiceless. Unfortunately, people are not the only ones who face many different stereotypes and discriminations throughout their lives; animals such as, pit bulls face similar struggles. Pit bulls that are often perceived to be “dangerous” animals happen to be misunderstood and stereotyped against the most. Therefore, I believe pit bulls should not be banned in some communities because a pit bull’s behavior depends on the owner, pit bulls are just like any other dog breed and they can be very protective and loving to others.

Numerous people misunderstand the way pit bulls react to situations, or why this breed in particular remains regarded the way they do. Pits remain seen as extremely vicious animals that hold no other purpose in this world other than hurting people and animals. Countless people discriminate the breed for what they hear from others or what they witness on television, but that simply is not the case. Many people have not even seen the loving, caring and compassionate side of a pit bull, yet the fact of the matter remains, no one wants to due to the public continuously giving them an immoral reputation.
