Planning for human resources needs. When an administration is fully aware of whom they need and when they will need them the likelihood of getting good strong personnel that fits the schools needs. A campus with good Good internal and external communication is a requirement of any administration. School leaders need to decide on the information they want to issue, who they audience will be, and how they will distribute the information. Internal communication is vital so all members of a school team are current on information relevant to them. I do not know of anyone that appreciates being left out of “the loop” especially when they are directly affected by administrative planning and decisions. This also applies to the parents; success with the child will be more likely if the parents are actively involved with teachers in their child’s education. Teachers would recognize the diverse population and background of the child. For example, a child with limited language skills would not automatically have a referral initiated for a learning disability. Instead, differentiated instruction could capitalize on student developing language skills in the classroom with peers. This approach would lead to a reduction of referrals to special education. Finally, when a child demonstrates a limitation, the teacher can immediately implement RTI in the classroom environment. Student progress is monitored and adjusted to meet the specific need of the child. This allows for early identification and intervention of those students that could possibly fail otherwise. The special education referral process will occur only if the child is unresponsive to the intensive instruction provided through RTI. The common denominator between all the topics is collaboration and communication. Communication is not just about talking and forwarding information, it is about listening, sharing with, and understanding others. When an organization has the ability to communicate, the act of collaboration becomes much more efficient.
