Goodish, Badish Basketball
The day I played my best. It was in the morning we had to get up to go to are basketball games. Like all morning I was slow and then I played the best game of my life so far. It was a hard game one of the hardest game ever, no it was the hardest game ever. I know what you're thinking, the team played so well together that it was the best they ever played with each other. Even the shy people scored it was great. The score was unbelievable 200 points to 0. But we actually lost 89 to 58. Yeah I knew, how did I play the best. If we didn't even win and are team wasn't playing together like we always do. Maybe it was because they just wanted the ball or maybe they were just scared. It was the last game before the finals. I always go in thinking that we are going to lose. So I don't feel mad or disappointed if we lose. It also helps me play harder. But this time I was sure we were gonna lose. They were two times the size of me. They were like trees towering over me. Even their smallest girl was taller than our tallest girl. But they were in our division. We've never even seen them play before, but we knew they were good. They were all wearing orange pixel shorts. We were joking that they were pooping out pixels. Then we headed in for warm up’s the crowd was cheering, but then the other team comes in and it went crazy. As we were doing leg-up lines they were shooting three’s and making all of them. But they were slow and that's where we had an
It wasn’t any normal game it was the championship game. I really didn't have any worries because my team was really good. The other team was good too because that team had beat us before and they beat us by a lot of points. I was texting my friends while I waiting for the game cousin told me
It had been a long season, many losses, but many learning moments, we were second to last in the league and only had about ten wins. The only thing we had going for us, the playoffs. We had tied the West Kent Hawks and beat two other teams 7-1 and 10-2 to make it here, and there I was. Sitting in the locker room with a blank stare and hands hanging from my chest guard, this is usually what happens before games. I was anxious to get on the ice, but neverous too, because this is how the little caesars playoffs work.
The best thing that ever happened to me is when my baseball team beat Brandon Valley for the first place position in regionals. Brandon Valley was our rivals and we hated each other for not really any reason. We knew at the start of the game that winning this would put us in first place. We had lost to Brandon Valley twice before but they were beatable. It was a home game near the end of July and sunny. The conditions were great for baseball. Our nerves were high and waiting for the game to start seemed like an eternity.
I first learned how to do a backflip on a trampoline by watching a youtube video and I got it really fast. So then I started going to the class to learn. This Saturday I finally landed my backflip flat. That was a very exciting moment in my life which showed me that if I want to learn something I should set my mind to it and I could do anything. Another exciting moment in my life was when I made a buzzer beater to win my basketball team the championship. My team was down 33-20 at halftime. Our coach talked to us and we got our head back in the game. We started catching up to them, with a minute left they were leading 45-43. We were all very nervous but we had to be cold-blooded. My teammate stole the ball from them and scored. So it was a tied game but it was their ball with 20 seconds. A mistake from them was that they did not take the last shot. They shot a 3 pointer but missed, my coach called a timeout and told me to take the last shot with ten seconds left. My teammate passed me the ball from the sideline, I started walking up the court, I passed the half with 5 seconds left faked to the left my defender fell for it I jump to the right and took the 3-point shot. As the ball was in the air the buzzer rang but a moment after the ball swished in and we won! That was my best game as we won 48-45 and I scored 22 points of the
July 30, the day I was leaving for California. My mom, my brother, my grandma, and I all leaving for the big trip. After a seven hour plane ride, we arrived. My mother was in line to pick up our rental car, the wait which felt like a million years. Slouching on top of all the suitcases and imaging all my teammates laying out in the sun, swimming and having fun in the water made me feel bitter and antsy. We finally got our car and we were on our way to the hotel. It was another hour car ride, eventually we got to the beach. From there on out my day could not have gotten better. The water was as cold as Antarctica and yet it felt so good against my sweaty skin. At about 5 o’clock my coach decided we would hold practice. The field was in a park it looked like something out of the 1920s Great Depression, homeless people everywhere, but we made best with what we have gained. I had not had anything to eat since 6 o’clock that morning, but being the strong fighter I am, I tried to fight the pain of hunger off and finish through practice and get some food afterwards. Turns out my body could only handle so much, I was standing up painfully fielding the balls hit at
The chills creep up my spine, uncomfortably I notice every single person there was watching my every move. We were going head-to-head with the Vikings, they did very well at intimidating our team to death, but inside I knew we could try. They had some tall buffy people that didn't seem afraid that our dignity was high and on the line. We couldn't waste it here, right now. Next, a loud Screech the referee blew her whistle, and at that moment we knew it was time. We played as if it was the Olympics, even though it was just for fun. Then, the ball went all over the court back and forth meanwhile the crowd screaming, cheering, and excitedly saying, “Go Huskies!”
Before the game my teammates and I were all hyped up. It was like we were warriors going off to battle. We could hear the roars of the crowd outside of our locker room. We took a peek outside and saw the student section was packed, in fact the whole stands were filled. Then
As warm ups started I began to feel a weird feeling in my stomach. I had never been affected by the people around but I guess now I was actually scared. After warm ups we huddled up we were given a quick speech, and told us that we did not need to be as physically gifted as they were but we needed to be able to have the heart to overcome the challenge. The game began we started of in a hole. The team was winning 10-4. They were not better than us they just were getting in our heads, and making us make the wrong decisions.I sighed in disbelief when a boy named Ethan on my team accidently shot on the other team 's basket. At halftime it was 23-14 with us losing. We were all looking down in the dumps. Since everyone didn’t look to happy I tried to cheer them up,but that didn’t work.
The crowd went crazy. My teammates and my coaches ran and dog piled me. My heart was beating faster than it ever had. “We won!” was the only thing I could seem to get out of my mouth. My teammates started chanting my name.
was 9 years old and 4th grade had just started which meant that my first official year of basketball was around the corner and everything had to be perfect. I would wake up in the mornings before school and I would go shoot come home after school and shoot again, it was the most practice I had ever done, in one thing, in my entire life. The first practice started in October and I was so overly excited I grabbed a ball and started my routine 5 lay-ups and 10 free throws. I knew my coach better than anyone, He was my father, so when he blew the whistle, I ran to the line and prepared for up and down sprints. We only ran for about 15 minutes, but it felt like days the way he ran us giving us only a few water breaks The entire team was wheezing and we were barely a quarter way through practice. I hear my Dad yell lay-up lines and I get excited because this is something if practiced so hard
played hard to so we were winging so that got really mad at us so one time I jump to get the ball
Basketball is a game played between two teams (of five players) who try to score baskets by throwing a ball into a netted hoop. That is what I am going to tell you a story about today. This is a story about my first ever playoff basketball game. My basketball team is not the biggest but each and everyone of us plays our heart out. The team that we were playing was not very good. Those are low standards too because we aren’t very good either! Out of the gate, you could tell that we were a better team. We went up by a couple of points but after that they figured out our offense. Our coach called a timeout and we changed our game plan. I was not playing good either and I am the best player on the team.
They came off the bench with a fire in their a**. Even when they were playing with such strength, we still had the momentum. We were able to put one more score on the board and win the game four-zero. It was the highlight of the tournament for our team. After that game had finished, we were able to get all of our players back and go on and win the tournament.
They passed the ball with 0 seconds left. We won, my teammates jumped on me with joy. We shook there hands and said, “good game”. We only beat them by 5 points. My dad gave me a hug and said, “good game” to me. I felt like I could do anything in the world . I felt unstoppable. I ran to the bleachers screaming like a
My favorite moment was in the gym when my class got to play. In my gym class I saw many of my friends from last year in sixth grade. We decided to play a 3-on-3 game of basketball. Donovan and Marcus were team captains Donovan picked Jaden and I and Marcus picked Brandon and Charles. So we started playing and Marcus’s team got ball because Jaden picked first, So Marcus passed the ball inbound to Brandon and Brandon dribbled down court for a layup. POW! Jaden blocked Brandon’s shot and it went flying to Donovan, then Donovan ran down the court dribbling and got an easy layup the score was 2-0. Charles passed it inbound to Marcus and Marcus passed it back to Charles and Charles called for a screen and Brandon set one and Charles got open at
