Art is a way for humans to express creativity and imagination in various mediums of work. Art can come in the forms but are not limited to paintings, sculptures, architecture, statues, dramas, plays, music, and dance. To me, art is something that causes the person observing the artwork to feel a certain emotion such as pain, love, fear, or sadness. A great piece of artwork can make the viewer almost feel like they can replace themselves with those involved in the medium and feel the exact emotion as those in the piece feel. An example of this would be viewing the play Cyrano de Burgerac, where the playwright or artist of the play makes it possible for the viewers’ hearts to break as Roxane tells Cyrano how great the words of

In this essay I am going to compare and contrast ‘When we two parted’ a poem of George Gordon, Lord Byron’s written in 1815 and Letitia Elizabeth Landon’s ‘Love’s last lesson’ written in c1838, both poets are British and of the romantic period.

The thought of art is more than what you see it is what you feel and what you learn from looking at it. Art can heal the soul and create and new outlook on images we may see every day. Sadly, we may not always see the art in things, pieces, or, humans.

It is argued that poetry is boring, it is sometimes described as a useless topic that should burn in hell. But whoever thinks that haven’t seen the purpose of poetry. Poetry is believed the best medium to express emotions especially sorrow. Adversity is one of the hardest and sometimes the most sorrowful emotions that exist. This makes adversity the perfect topic of a poem. Poetry it is a compelling way for people to communicate about overcoming difficult life circumstances. I will use two poems to prove this, ‘The rose that grew from the concrete’ by Tupac Shakur and “The Caged Bird” by Maya Angelou.

Reflections Within is a non-traditional stanzaic poem made up of five stanzas containing thirty-four lines that do not form a specific metrical pattern. Rather it is supported by its thematic structure. Each of the five stanzas vary in the amount of lines that each contain. The first stanza is a sestet containing six lines. The same can be observed of the second stanza. The third stanza contains eight lines or an octave. Stanzas four and five are oddly in that their number of lines which are five and nine.

To me, any kind of art presents an opportunity to gain a new perspective on things. Poetry, music, painting, and even dance, can all be used to portray the beauty of the world to audiences. However, they can also be used to portray overlooked, even dark, sides of the world. I believe that poetry is able to do this better than any other art form.
