There are a wide variety of political issues and different opinions on how to go about them. The issues most important to me are immigration, education, gun control, healthcare, and defense. These topics have always been a big in politics and different parties have different views and approaches on how they would want to resolve these issues. Since Donald Trump took office, immigration especially has become a big issue because Trump represents the Republican party and we have been a Democratic society. Both parties have different views on each subject. I agree with either one depending on the issue but I also have my own opinions as well. Republicans believe they need national security to keep out illegal immigrants or create a system where …show more content…
Republicans believe in a restructuring of higher education that will leave more students equipped for their desired fields. They also believe in limiting the federal government in our education system and to expel student loans or private loans. However, Democratic views on education include tax benefits and reformed financial aid programs for college tuition, saving and creating more teaching jobs, expand education options for low-income youth, and revamping standardized testing to test more complex skills. I agree with the Republican party to simply get rid of student loans and private loans because I’ve personally encountered many people, years after they graduate, still be in debt from their student loans. I also believe in the Democratic party striving to put college within reach of every student by providing many financial aid programs. Ultimately, I agree with the Republican party to expel student loans/private loans all together but also believe in the Democratic way to create opportunities for every student to attend …show more content…
They hope to create better enforcement on existing laws especially improving and strengthen their background check system. They also want to reauthorize assault weapons ban and close the gun show loophole, to reduce the chance of these weapons to be in the wrong hands. Republican believe in the Constitution, that the American people have the right to bear firearms. I agree with the Democratic party with the assault weapons ban. However, I believe that guns should not be accessible to anybody besides our military. From experience living in South Korea where guns are extremely illegal, crime isn’t a big issue. Not even Korean police have guns to withdraw at their disposal. In my opinions, banning guns all around will improve crime rate and create a safer environment for the health of the American
The Democratic party believes that people should go through the same things, and the Republican party believes each kid should get to do their own things based on their individual academic ability. The second reason people believe other people should not be a Republican is because Democrats are not pro-choice because Democratic views are better because they support a woman’s right to make decisions about her pregnancy. Democratic views state that is a personal decision between the mother, doctor, and family. Republicans believe that the government needs to spend more money than what Republicans want(Republican . . .
The Republican Party is extremely supportive of all the laws for less gun control while the Democrats want more gun control. The Republicans have always been advocates of less gun control because of their belief in the Second Amendment. I believe the following quote from “Republican Views on Gun Control” (2013) sums up their ideology on the subject: “The GOP (“Grand Old Party”) is keen to point out that the Republican position on gun rights does not flow from a fondness for weapons, but from a fundamental principle that calls for upholding certain rights that the nation was built upon. Republicans believe that governmental regulation of firearms is largely unconstitutional and therefore, most gun laws are an infringement on the individual’s rights to bear arms. The dominant point made by Republicans in this regard is that the Second Amendment gives the right to the individual to protect himself, his family, and his property.” While I agree with the right to protect oneself and his or her family, I would have to side with the Democrats’ stance on gun control. I think people should be able to bear arms but not every single weapon needs to be in reach. For example, according to Republican Views (2013), in 1993, Bill Clinton passed the Federal Assault Weapons Ban which banned the manufacture of semi-automatic firearms that were defined as assault weapons for civilian use. I completely agree with this law because there is simply no need for an average civilian to own an assault rifle especially now days. Assault rifles over the last two decades have gotten lighter and more powerful, and there is simply no need to them to be in the hands of inexperienced people. People worrying about protecting themselves and their property can still purchase sniper rifles, shotguns, and pistols, which do the job perfectly well. Along with protection, people also like to use guns for hunting, and a
One significant issue in the Republican Party is Audit in the Federal Reserve. The Republican Party supports it because the Federal Reserve's monetary policy actions affect both inflation and economic activity, which should be transparent. One significant issue in the Democratic Party is outsourcing healthcare. Democrats believe that the government should take care of all its people's health care (Eleanor, 2015).
Aristotle was an ancient Greek philosopher born in Stagira a small town in northern Greece around 384 B.C. As Aristotle grew up he studied medicine then at the age of 17 was sent to Athens to study at Plato’s academy. It was imagined that Aristotle would have ran the school after Plato died in 347 B.C but he didn’t because some if his philosophy was different from Plato’s. Around 335 B.C Aristotle ended up opening an institution of his own and called it the Lyceum. Aristotle then settled down for a while over time his wife passed away but Aristotle met another woman named Herpyllis, married her. Also attributed a book to his son named Nicomachean Ethics. Around 323 B.C is when we see Aristotle’s last days, the pro-Macedonian government was
First I will state the republican view, and then the democrat view in a point by point way. The republican view on gun control is simple. It is that America should leave guns alone, or loosen the current gun control laws. Really the argument for the republicans is not to allow stronger gun control laws at all cost. Sometimes even when the evidence is against them, they still take this position. While the republicans want less gun control, the democrats want more laws in place. They argue that guns are dangerous and that America must
The Republican’s view on gun-control, “Republicans believe that governmental regulation of firearms is largely unconstitutional and therefore, most gun laws are an infringement on the individual’s rights to bear arms” (republicanviews). The republicans would like almost any American be able to buy and own a gun without too much gun regulations. The republicans believe that the governments regulations on firearms are unconstitutional an infringement on an individual 's basic rights. The republicans believe everyone had the right to defend them so self so they should own a gun to protect them and their families.
Democrats believe citizens are already being protected by law enforcement (police officers, local military bases, national guard) and don’t believe that people should have the rights to carry a firearm. The reasoning of why there is a disagreement is because in the Constitution, the second amendment states that “each person shall have the right to keep and bear arms” (excerpt from US Constitution) and the general Democratic point of view of guns violates that amendment (there may be a Democrat that disagrees in that belief). Democrats also believe that gun shows are “loopholes” or an escape clause for using guns. According to a Gun Violence Archive, 36 Americans each day are killing unintentionally with guns. 50% of law enforcement officers are killed with guns that are not their own, which is intentional by another person in the years of 1980-2014 according to FBI Leoka and many Press clips. Some Republican or Green Party members agree to this when it comes to owning a Pistol, M16, or anything in that family of
For centuries, two main political parties, the Democratic Party, and the Republican Party, have divided the United States government. The Democrats are considered the liberal political party and can trace its roots all the way back to Thomas Jefferson when they were known as Jefferson’s Republicans and they strongly opposed the Federalist Party and their nationalist views. Republicans are considered the conservative political party and try to uphold more traditional values. The Republican Party came into existence just prior to the Civil War due to their long-time stance in favor of the abolition of slavery. In 1860, they became an established political party when their nominee Abraham Lincoln was elected as President of the United States. Since their inception, the Republican and Democratic Party have had many disputes about policies. One of these major debates has focused on educational funding in the United States. The parties have different views on the education system of the country, but both agree there needs a change in some way. Democrats favor more progressive approaches to education, such as implementing the Common Core System, while Republicans tend to favor more conservative changes such as longer hours and more focused programs to better educational resources. In Virginia, Republicans from 1990 to 2013 worked to provide better educational funding more prominently than Democrats.
Republicans believe Americans should have a right granted by the Constitution and the Second Amendment to keep and bear arms. They support and defend their “God-given right” of self-defense. They recognise the individual responsibility to safely use and store firearms. Democrats recognise the right to bear arms is an important part of American tradition and would preserve the Second Amendment with the right to own and bear firearms. They understand the terrible consequences of gun violence and have them subject to reasonable regulation. This is often where America can get divided in opinion, some Republicans sometimes mistake Democrats and believe they want to take their guns away and some Democrats think that Republicans want to just hand out free guns to whoever happens to pass. But if people don't look into the parties full policies they don't really know what type of person they may be voting into the White
The majority of Democrats believe in the right to bear arms, they just want stricter measures for the buying and owning of weapons to individuals. They are trying to strengthen gun control to reduce the violence ineffective gun control has caused.
They feel as though the government should provide the training and equipment that is necessary in the law enforcement industry. Democrats also support policies like requiring a universal background check system to ensure that all firearm sales undergo a Brady background check. Part of the Democratic Party’s goals/policies is the requirement of a background check system that ensures all firearm sales go through a Brady background check. Another part fully funding the Bureau in control of firearms so that it can conduct regular and frequent inspections of Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) Dealers in an attempt to prevent unlawful sales. In a very wise move, Democrats are pushing for the requirement that any person who sells guns as an employee at a gun manufacturer, or through a FFL Dealer, pass a Brady background check. They are also trying to limit the availability of automatic weapons and extended magazines. Basically the Democrats are more rigid on the topic of gun regulation. (Public Safety [3]) They feel as though the government should have more control over our weaponry, and should limit the amount of power allowed in guns that are not part of the law enforcement program. I agree with a few of their wants and policies, such as the requirement of a background check for most everything gun related. However, I do not agree with the restrictions on automatic weapons and extended magazines. I fell if people are determined to have these things, they'll find a way regardless of the law, and if use responsibly there really is no
In political campaigns, the viewpoints of the individual candidates are often reflective of the positions of their political parties. In the upcoming presidential election, there are issues which have the power to divide the nation. One of the most divisive issues at present is the question of gay marriage and whether or not the federal government should weigh in on what has thus far been a states' rights issue. Both on the state and national levels, the perspective of the people in the various political jurisdictions will determine the way in which they vote. If a party agrees with the population's view on an issue, the people will be more likely to vote with that party. The two major parties, the Republicans and Democrats, have officially been against gay marriage although a few have differed from the party's position. Less is known where some of the "third" parties, such as the Green Party, Libertarian Party, and Constitution Party, stand on the issue.
First, the Republican Party demands a stricter and more controlled border. They support legal immigration and support an immigration reform. “Illegal immigration endangers everyone, exploits the taxpayers, and insults all who aspire to enter America legally” (GOP). The Republican platform clearly demands a legal entry by immigrants to the country. They believe in harsher punishments for illegal immigrants who violate the law. Unlike the Democrats, the Republicans do not believe in amnesty since it can encourage more immigrants to cross the border illegally.
Leadership of Napoleon There are some important characteristics to be a leader. Napoleon, the leader in Animal Farm by George Orwell, is trusted by his henchman in the farm so that he can be a leader even he when does something wrong. The abilities of followers is one of the traits to be a leader and these greatly affect the success of their master. Three things which Napoleon has can make an effective leader. Napoleon could keep his status as a leader because of his firm hangers-on and believers, such as Squealer and the dogs.
The importance of fingerprinting is that it can link a criminal to a crime scene and identify them as the suspect of that crime. The history of fingerprinting began in 1641 where Nehemiah grew studied the fingerprint and was the first to accurately describe the patterns within the fingerprint. The first system formed is the henry system. Sir Edward henry system was used by many English speaking countries. In the henry system the primary focus when examining a print was the whorl pattern. This was done by the eye. The newer systems that many crime labs use is called the automated fingerprint identification system(AFIS). AFIS uses three steps. The first step is data acquisition. The second step is feature extraction. This step points out features
