It was appealing to see the comparison of where I view with the point to others. The Political Party Quiz showed that I am a moderate Republican, which I am not I am Democrat. . I am an Independent. It means different things for different people. The quiz resulted Independent because I agree with some of the Republican views and a little of the Democrat views .I found the questions had answers that were not easy to answer. With four choices given I tried answering truthfully as possible... I don’t think it reflected my true feelings. I do feel the quiz could have added more grey area questions. The where do I fit quiz was the best because it signals if you have selfish or manipulative tendencies. On the question asked about Poor people have
Political parties are composed of several different parties for example; Democratic Party, Republican Party, Libertarian Party, and Green Party. The two major parties are Democratic and Republican Majority of Americans classify as these two. Political parties are essential institutions of democracy. Democrats, believe that government can and should work to make everyone's lives better. Republicans tend to take a more conservative stand on issues, and They believe that the federal government should not play a big role in people's lives.
Political parties today started to form in the late 1600’s. In 1787, Hamilton and other leaders joined and called themselves the Federalist. The Federalist party is the party which is most qualified for the presidency because the Federalist want a central government, want to avoid foreign affairs, and also want a central banking system. First a strong central governments.
During the political typology quiz the questions with the hardest choices to make for me were about the government providing financial help to the poor and how much the government should be involved in foreign affairs. These questions were the hardest for me because I find myself falling in the middle instead of veering radically to one side. An example of this is that I believe the government should provide some federal funding to the needy but to a certain extent. Also I’m completely ignorant when it comes to the government’s involvement with other countries and the effects it has on the United States so I’m looking forward on learning more about this during the semester.
The role of decision making process plays in the activities of a political party by seeking the influence of the public and getting their candidate elected for office. When the time comes to make certain decisions, a political party has key tasks that they performsuch as: Interacting and educating the public about political values, transforming the publics opinions and turn theminto viable policy options, andmost of all choosing and training the candidates they want for the public office.
Although the founding fathers advised against the establishment of “political factions” as the Constitution was going through the ratification process, which was the split between the men in President George Washington’s cabinet. Their initiative was to move toward the idea of political party. By the end of the of the first decade, the existence of the United States under its current constitution, a two-party system, had began. Although these two political entities were steadfast in their initials ideals, both parties had to modify some of their original positions on various issues as they faced the reality of governance.
The issue during this period that most bothering the agrarian farmers was that of the currency issue, or more specifically the issue of silver. As seen in Document A, the platform of the Populist party greatly surrounded the concept of greenbacks as a way to provide an easy exit for the debt-trapped farmers. In addition to the idea of greenbacks, the concept of silver as “coin since the dawn of history (Document A)” is a great concern of this party. One major tactic of this party was the “Crime of ‘73” which was an attempt of the Westerners to bring silver back and similar to the demand for greenbacks, was the farmer way of trying to promote inflation, something detrimental to the American economy. This rational explanation against silver is also seen in Document B, where William McKinley, creator of the McKinley Tariff, a tariff that greatly impacted farmers for the worse, describes the negative effects of silver being, “It would not make farming less laborious or more profitable.. (Document B),” a statement, while true, not accepted by farmers nor the Populist party. McKinley instead claims that “Good money [gold] never made times
With Hillary Clinton’s recent self-proclamation of “securing” the Democratic nomination, along with the heated 2016 presidential election, has come an Independent, Progressive political movement, with citizens calling for action against a system widely believed to have failed them.
The Democratic Party was in favor of the rights of the states and the people and believed that the people should get to decide whether or not slavery was legal or not legal (illegal). In the year 1854, Senator Stephen Douglas who was from the state of Illinois, wanted to run for president, and he wanted southern Democrats to support him. He created the Kansas-Nebraska Act in question of slavery. The Kansas-Nebraska Act supported popular sovereignty. Popular sovereignty means the “rule by the people”. If the country were to vote for Stephen Douglas, the Missouri Compromise would be repealed, or cancelled. The southerners would like The Kansas-Nebraska Act, meaning that this would help Douglas to win the election. Although, the northerners were
Since the early start of the United States, there has always been the Democratic and Republican parties as majority leaders that represented our people’s nation. Due to the questionable leadership of our major parties, a growing trend of independent groups began to develop over the last several years. Many conservative Americans today do not feel that their Republican party is representing what they believe how America’s government should be run. Between fraud, scandals and Republican leaders poorly representing their supporters within the senate and the house of representatives many Americans have lost faith in their party. Since Donald Trump has become our president a growing trend of conservatives working class called the “Populists” party
Former President Theodore Roosevelt unhappy with his handpicked successor , President Taft’s approach to trust busting, chose to run against him for the Presidency. When he didn’t receive the Republican Party nomination, he ran as the first (and last) candidate for the Progressive Party, nicknaming it after himself, the Bull Moose party. His proposed platform, New Nationalism, laid out very progressive goals, that were much more progressive than any of his ideas while in the White House. It dealt with organized labor, child labor laws, workmans compensation, safety standards, work week hours, and inheritance tax. The New Nationalism also
My quiz results show that I agree more with the Democratic Party. I agree with Bernie Sanders 95% and with
After taking the, Political Party Quiz, I checked the results and found out I stand very far to the right on the political spectrum. This surprised me mostly because the majority of my family falls further on the left side. Researching the issues on the quiz soon after I realized that I have been exposed to many of these prior to the quiz. While on some of the issues I had a sure answer, there were quite a few that I hadn’t really ever heard of.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in a political party that would ignite Europe in a war that would soon involve the entire world? Founded as The German Workers’ Party, and later renamed to The National Socialist Workers (Nazi) Party, or Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei in German, was that party. It was under control by Adolfus (Adolf) Hitler, and promoted German pride and anti-Semitism. Thankfully, at the end of World War Two, this party was outlawed and many of its top officials were convicted of war crimes (History.com). This German political party was one of the most dangerous and destructive political parties in the twentieth century because they were the main cause of World

I have fallen victim to many traps involved in using the skill of evaluation. The biggest trap I believe would be the smoke and mirrors of the Democratic Political Party. I grew up very poor and lived on walefare without a real father figure, and my mother on disability from a mental illness that turns out to be laziness. Growing up I was led to believe that the democrats were the “good guys” because they looked out for the underprivileged like my family. I was led to believe that the republican party only cared for the rich, and nothing for the middle or lower class.
