Pollution- The connection with pollution to which happens in the Lorax movie was clear and which was the following. When the Once-ler made his Thneeds everyone went crazy for them causing for higher demands. Thus this led to him chopping down trees with large machinery which also shown black thick chemicals get released into the atmosphere. Also not to mention when his factory gets upgraded it also increases pollution amounts. Which is how pollution relates into the Lorax.
Energy consumption- The connection with energy consumption to which happened in the Lorax movie was clear and which the following. When the Once-ler received the demand of his product this required lots of things to be done to meet the demands. Which were machinery,
Immigration has made the U.S.A poplar in many ways. For example, Immigration made people to from all race to come together and be in one place. It also made people to understand each other's in different ways. Finally, it brings humans closer together and to learn about each other's cultures. And it's also fun and enjoyable to see people with different color/race to be together.
CONSTRUCTED RESPONSE 1. Imagine if you had no sibling to compete with for your parent's love and affection. Well in 1980 China enacted a one-child policy stating that the majority of the population, Han Chinese, could only have one child. This policy has helped China improve the lives of citizens in the world's most populous country.
Ultimately, there is a huge problem occurring all around the world when it comes to land pollution. One can not let one’s own kind destroy the only home mankind have ever known. Land pollution can stop its speeding pace just by making little changes such as recycling. Which will become an easier task by the new locations and projects that will occur in every store and city. With the smallest changes in ones lifestyle anyone can create a difference and not only will you be helping the environment but also yourself and everyone around you. Therefore, why make the movie Wall-E come true if one can prevent it, especially since unlike Wall-E earth will not have a happy ending. So stop making excuses and make a change in your life!
Water pollution in Tennessee is a major environmental issue. Polluted rivers and streams are major problems because the water inside of them is supposed to be a clean source of water, but sadly that’s not the case. In order to stop this, we have to keep moving forward to find a solution.
Los Angeles County ranks among the 10% worst air quality polluters in the US. The hustle and bustle of public transportation and smog released by an over-populated commuter based region, have significantly lowered air quality standards. Henceforth, health concerns have risen for all Angelinos. Research has observed that there is a serious influx of pollutants in the air that could have damaging results both on adults and children alike. However, different forms of renewable energy over the years have facilitated an alternative to this issue. A movement away from an urban sprawl Los Angeles to new urbanism has allotted us better living and breathing conditions over the last several years.
They polluted the air with the factory and cars and the water with runoff from the factory. The Lorax was telling them what they are doing and they once-lers weren’t listening to the
Areas in the ocean that have low oxygen concentration causes animal life to suffocate and die, and as a result these areas are called "dead zones." According to National Geographic, “Scientists have counted some 400 such dead zones around the world.” Pollution entering into the ocean is the reason for these dead zones. Many people do not realize the amount of negative things that come out by just dropping a little piece of trash on the beach, but that is just one way marine pollution is created. There are so many types of ocean pollution this includes, sound pollution, oil pollution, air pollution, and agriculture runoff. Pollution is not always visual, sounds from ships, sonar devices, oil rigs, and even from natural sources like earthquakes can disrupt the migration, communication, hunting, and reproduction patterns of many marine animals, particularly aquatic mammals like whales and dolphins. Smith states, “Oil pollution in the ocean, particularly from international tanker traffic, was a primary topic of concern to commentators” (1547) Ships can cause oil pollution because they use lots of oil as their fuel. The oil is almost impossible to clean up and once it spreads throughout the ocean it can kill much marine life. Ships also can cause noise pollution by dropping crates into the ocean due to storms or
Factories use fossil fuels to produce goods in bulk. Fossil fuels release a lot of carbon dioxide in the air. As we all know, trees are cut down to pave way for factories. Deforestation reduces the amount of vegetation absorbing carbon dioxide. Factories release poisonous chemicals that make soil less habitable for new plantation.
Pollution being the most effective terminator for our environment, which effectively does its homework in four different modes viz. Air, water, soil/land and sound. Air pollution which is pretty prominent & has various incarnations. It’s arsenal include oxides of carbon, nitrogen, sulphur, particulates , Volatile organic compound, particulates etc. The emissions from the chimneys, exhausts & vehicles all contribute in tainting the air, the ballistic use of the aerosol cans, refrigerators, air conditioners has flooded the atmosphere with the CFSs which phagocytize the ozone layer, thereby making organisms more prone to the harmful UV radiations from the sun. The perpetuations of the release of oxides of Carbon especially Carbon dioxide has resulted in green house effect which has caused Global warming thereby increasing the average temperature of the earth. These can have severe repercussions of that of posing a threat to submerge small islands, drastically increasing the fraction of water; it could also strangle the living conditions for the polar bears, penguins and other Antarctic region animals. While the oxides of sulfur and nitrogen help in reducing the pH of water vapor in the atmosphere making it acidic resulting in acid rain. Smoke emitted combines with fog to form the venomous smog. All these are nocuous to the mankind. They
The world is dying. The world is being overrun with human pollution. The most polluted parts are the parts nobody notices until they see trash floating upon waves and washing onto shores. The animals get tangled up and cannot escape from human filth. There is no escape for them. This is why people need to help prevent trash from getting into the oceans. Even if helping prevent trash from entering the ocean cost more money than allowing it to enter the water system, it will prevent ecosystems, environments and their climates from perishing.
The world is dying. It is being overrun with human pollution. Nobody notices where the most polluted parts are in the ocean, until they see trash floating upon waves, which then washes onto the shores. Animals get tangled up and cannot escape from human filth. There is no escape for them. There is no way for them to swim freely without getting tangled up. This is why people need to help prevent trash from getting into the oceans. Even if helping prevents trash from entering the ocean cost more money than allowing it to enter the water system, it will prevent ecosystems, environments and their climates from perishing.
I am writing this letter to discuss a few thoughts, which I have concerning marine pollution happening currently in the southern part of the country in the lower delta region to be precise. This is as a result of consistent oil spillage occurring in and around the Niger delta area. I have come to learn that this issue has worsened over the past ten years and has begun causing problems for the neighboring communities. As I am currently enrolled in an oceanography course in my university, I have come to understand some of the adverse effects which introduction of oil into marine environments can pose. On closer study, I have reduced this effects to direct manipulation on marine life which further more affects humans who depend on these water bodies as their main source of livelihood. With this letter I am hoping to draw some attention to the current crisis and seek a restorative response from the government. This sort of positive response will ensure that the future of marine development in the area returns to former yields thereby benefiting the occupants of nearby villagers and better supporting their economies.
I make my way down the sand with the scorching sun shining bright in my face, trying to reach to the cooling ocean as fast as I can. I feel the ocean’s continuous movement of the currents shifting back and forth, making me think about how the ocean currents create the rubbish patches, gathering bits of plastic on the way. I wonder if people think about the consequences of littering before doing it and the harm that it has on the sea life?
Rising atmospheric carbon dioxide from fossil fuel combustion is increasing dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and reducing pH in the global surface ocean (Edmunds et al. 2016). Recent estimates suggest that one-quarter of carbon dioxide emissions originating from human fossil-fuel combustion is absorbed by the world’s oceans (Le Quéré, et al. 2015), causing a shift in the seawater carbonate chemistry. As a result, oceans have seen large increases in bicarbonate ions and decreases in concentrations of calcium carbonate ions and pH of the seawater; in a process known as ocean acidification. Since preindustrial times, atmospheric carbon dioxide absorbed by the oceans has lowered the pH of the seawater by 0.1 units, which equates to approximately a 30% increase in acidity. In addition, carbonate ion concentrations have decreased by 11%-15% in the tropics and southern oceans (Orr et al. 2005). According to the IPCC, under a “business as usual” approach to climate change, carbon dioxide absorbed by the oceans will cause a pH decrease of 0.77 units by 2030 (Caldeira and Wickett 2003). This increase in acidity will cause decreases in carbonate ion concentration and lead to a reduction in the saturation states of aragonite, calcite and high magnesium calcite, which may lead to a reduction in calcification in marine organisms (Feely et al. 2004; Gattuso et al. 1999; Langdon and Atkinson 2005; Anthony et al. 2008). With a doubling of atmospheric pCO2 from
We all see oceans as calming places to spend our vacation with family and friends. Sometimes we accidentally leave the trash right by the shore of the beach, and we don’t even realize how that trash might do anything to the ocean creatures. How much of trash do you think gets left on the beaches? Maybe ten, twenty hundred pounds. It’s neither one of them. According to NBC news “Volunteers scoured 33,000 miles off shoreline worldwide and found six million pounds of debris from cigarette butts and food wrappers (NBC news)”. This is insanity we don’t even realize how inadequate our behaviors are and because of our behavior what might happen to the innocent marine animals that are leaving in the ocean.
