I accidentally bathed in poop once. Let me explain. The first time I saw snow was when my family and I were at my grandparents’ ranch in New Mexico for Christmas. I was six years old and my sister Alana was three, so naturally we were excited to go explore the snow for the first time. Because my grandparent’s ranch is relatively isolated, my parents decided that it would be okay for the two of us to go play outside unattended. We donned our brand new matching pink fur boots and our warmest jackets and ventured into the white wonderland that awaited us. About an hour into our escapade, we encountered a large icy puddle right in front of the horse stable. Alana jumped on the ice which broke with a satisfying *crunch*. I giggled joyfully and …show more content…
Nowadays, we venture out with our dog to the park every time it rains and we stomp around in the biggest (poopless) puddles we can find until the three of us are completely soaked. Even though I have to focus on issues that are much more pressing than ruining my new boots, like preparing for tests and working toward my future, I still find time to reconnect with my inner child. Together, my sister and I have conducted several backyard “experiments” that have usually ended in disaster. One time, we “discovered” that it’s next to impossible to clean tiny Styrofoam balls out of the grass, and another time we “invented” the world’s best slime that ended up staining the back patio a very unpleasant shade of purple. Our adventures and misadventures have allowed me to foster my curiosity and desire to discover new things. Alana and I go to the beach and ride the waves and fill up our wetsuits with gallons of water and jump around, laughing hysterically at the water bouncing up and down like a fat belly. When I fall off of my boogie board, I still try again because I know how much fun a successful ride can be. These experiences have allowed me to be unapologetically goofy and given me opportunities to not take life so seriously all the time. Fear of ending up covered in poop has never held me back from having
The first time was in the summer of 1973, traveling there with my wife and then-infant son. It was overcast that day. But we didn't need sunshine to take in the splendor of what towered over us in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
I have always been interested in science, but the hands on experiments have helped me understand and grasp concepts much easier. I recall my first experiment in first grade when the class was given the lima bean sprout experiment, which required students to plant a bean in a paper cup. The purpose of this experiment was to teach us about photosynthesis and practice our observation skills. I recall how others were fascinated about why their sprout grew. I, on the other hand, was more captivated by why the other sprouts did not grow and the factors, which contributed to that outcome. This basic experiment taught me to look at things through different lenses and not always to the most obvious path.
This activity is developmentally appropriate for this age group because it teaches the children many things such as weight and properties of matter. It also teaches the children the smell and texture of the sand. This activity allows them to use different things such as buckets their hands the sand and any other item they mite want to use. As a teacher I would be able to facilitate the children through out
I traveled to Yellowknife to see the northern lights and ice roads. Luckily, it appeared one time. It was -30 degrees Celsius, so cold... But the sight was awesome!
In one instance, I went fishing with my father. I’m not really fond of the outdoors like he was, but I loved spending time with him. It had been raining earlier that morning, so the fishing area was wet. He insisted we go to is regular spot so we did. It was under an old rugged beat down bridge that was covered with green algae. By the time we
Snow everyday until Spring came along. I knew Mr. Snow was eventually going to melt. This made me sad but we sure did have fun while it lasted.
Once upon a time, in a land not so far away. By that I mean about an hour or two drive from visalia. When I was eight and my brother four. We had gone tobogganing with our family. The snow was glistening white and quite untouched by any other people for there was no lemon flavored snow.
"Beth, wait! It's dangerous!" You called out for her in the blizzard, however, she kept running. Your friends rejoiced with you in the snow, looking at each other with mixed emotions.
We took another lap around the paddock to find 2 rabbits just running into the bush just in time we carried on down the paddock my hands freezing from the cold
Stepping into the warmth of the house, she started to stomp her feet on the carpet in an attempt to get the snow off of her shoes, not that it would matter because they were going back outside soon either way. Once her parents made it into the house the conversed shortly, catching up with each other. Soon they were all ready to go back out into the cold and try their new invention. A homemade sled made from thick white plastic, holes drilled in the sides where ropes go, the sides and front folding up to make sure you stay inside.
On the first day of the trip we slept in pretty late because we traveled all day the day before to get to the cabin. When we woke up that morning the ground was covered in a sheet of white snow. The snow just got thicker has the day went on. It
Oma found a parking spot relatively quickly. She turned off the car, and we climbed out. The wind playfully blew snow in our faces as we began to walk to the hospital. In no time, I
One lovely snowy morning Remi had just woken up and looked very blissful on this great planned Saturday. Remi put her pink slippers on and opened the closet door very quietly and got her blue dress out and layed on her bed Remi turned around and jumped on Olivia , Olivia jerked up and screamed. Ethan and Eli ran into the room because they heard the scream. Remi said that ¨she jumped on Olivia and she go scared ¨. Remi had a little smile on her face and Ethan ran after her down the steps and back up the steps for awhile and he finally caught her and started tickling her. Everyone finally got dressed.
Whoosh, the wind goes over the tops off the snowy, ice capped trees. I was at the top of the ski slope waiting for what was going to happen next. Sliding past me went my aunt. I guessed that I should go ahead and follow her because I didn’t want to get lost. I skidded over the first few bumps slipping and sliding a little while my skis had mini mountains of thick snow on top of them. I glided a little longer feeling meh and then I was stuck.
Listening to the symphony of waves, discovering seashells, popping kelp bulbs and making footprints in the damp sand still evoke many of my fondest memories. My inner child playfully emerges to frolic whenever my bare feet find a sandy shore. Sunbathing on a beach towel has never appealed to me. Give me a boogie board, inner tube, surfboard, kayak or sailboat to fill my scrapbook with memories.
