Poopless Mishaps Narrative

I accidentally bathed in poop once. Let me explain. The first time I saw snow was when my family and I were at my grandparents’ ranch in New Mexico for Christmas. I was six years old and my sister Alana was three, so naturally we were excited to go explore the snow for the first time. Because my grandparent’s ranch is relatively isolated, my parents decided that it would be okay for the two of us to go play outside unattended. We donned our brand new matching pink fur boots and our warmest jackets and ventured into the white wonderland that awaited us. Nowadays, we venture out with our dog to the park every time it rains and we stomp around in the biggest (poopless) puddles we can find until the three of us are completely soaked. Even though I have to focus on issues that are much more pressing than ruining my new boots, like preparing for tests and working toward my future, I still find time to reconnect with my inner child. Together, my sister and I have conducted several backyard “experiments” that have usually ended in disaster. One time, we “discovered” that it’s next to impossible to clean tiny Styrofoam balls out of the grass, and another time we “invented” the world’s best slime that ended up staining the back patio a very unpleasant shade of purple. Our adventures and misadventures have allowed me to foster my curiosity and desire to discover new things. Alana and I go to the beach and ride the waves and fill up our wetsuits with gallons of water and jump around, laughing hysterically at the water bouncing up and down like a fat belly. When I fall off of my boogie board, I still try again because I know how much fun a successful ride can be. These experiences have allowed me to be unapologetically goofy and given me opportunities to not take life so seriously all the time.
